If the players want a unio...This will never happen. If the players want a union now how do you think they would react to this change? As you state the players are being exploited, and public opinion is slowly starting to agree w/ them. It's just P.R. There is just too much money on the table for there to be a step backwards.Hoibhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12681823413809048599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-66429187279138158192015-02-25T09:40:52.852-05:002015-02-25T09:40:52.852-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Hoibhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12681823413809048599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-11214865013588511732015-02-25T09:24:28.743-05:002015-02-25T09:24:28.743-05:00I couldn't disagree more. This is a great equalizer for school's like BC that actually recruit "student-athletes" as opposed to factories programs with high turnover.

With the exception of turmoil years, where BC is forced to play true freshmen out of necessitty, BC rarely plays true freshmen. We usually recruit the type of kid that needs to redshirt to fill out and we tend to run more complemented systems that require smart people & experience to master.

Our success is always determined by the number and quality of our upper classmen who've had at least 3 years to develop in the program. In my view, this will barely a change a thing.

By contrast, this could cripple a school that relies on a "one-and-done" phonemes ... or factory programs with huge turnover due to poor grades and/or being run out of town for slow development. If those factories can't immediately replace a troubled recruit with a impact true freshman, they'll have depth problems.

And so what if the factories try to evade this rule by further watering down their degrees with academic scandals. That will eventually blow up their face, and just make BC look better by example.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14012650441404599363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-12699720701826122722015-02-25T00:39:30.916-05:002015-02-25T00:39:30.916-05:00Just another power grab by the NCAA. Edge to BC.

This kinda rule might take away some advantages currently enjoyed by FSU, Clemson, Miami, VT, and UNC....

So if it enhances the concept of a "student"-athlete and maybe helps level the playing field, I like it.mod34bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18129365485893573618noreply@blogger.com
