For BC.

BC is matching up with Wake at the right time. They have injuries and a QB suspension. We are playing well, rested, and still healthy. If we reschedule later in the year Wake could be a much tougher team to match up with.

In addition, our starters really haven't played much. We still need to build some stamina and rhythm. However, this is a huge storm and so at the very least there will be rain and relatively high winds at kickoff. By the time the game finishes (around 11pm), it will have gotten worse. You then have to factor in people getting home from the game (could be ok, but dangerous none the less) and then getting the BC team out of there. Will all come down to timing, which is very hard to predict. The storm is moving slowly. I actually think the Saturday games are easier to predict - they will be cancelled. The BC/Wake game is difficult because its right on the front-end of the storm.BCAlum2000https://www.blogger.com/profile/18426748457186497109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-398583368526166902018-09-11T07:24:40.656-04:002018-09-11T07:24:40.656-04:00BC needs to act in the best interests of its stude...BC needs to act in the best interests of its students and employees - their safety supersedes everything else regardless of what Wake or the ACC or anyone else decides. The game was moved because Death Valley was being used as a place of refuge. This situation would involve a team being stranded in Boston for several days while their loved ones are battling one of the worst natural disasters in US History. I bet the Wake players and coaches would forfeit before leaving their families during such a crisis.Gerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04729204068498756484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-14878993912588083232018-09-11T00:42:13.027-04:002018-09-11T00:42:13.027-04:00No need to reschedule- just play the game at Alumn...No need to reschedule- just play the game at Alumni Stadium! The...Going forward with the game is irresponsible. The entire region is under a declared state of emergency, which restricts unnecessary travel. The coastal regions are under mandatory evacuation orders. A Category 4 hurricane packs winds in excess of 100mph.

Even though the site of the game is 200 miles inland, up to 20 inches of rain is predicted, which will cause flooding, including flash flooding. A college football game does not warrant the risk taking involved in the face of this potentially catastrophic storm.

Getting to the Wake Forest site by air is in question...getting back to Boston even more so.

The simplest solution would be to shift the venue to Alumni Stadium. Arrive at an equitable distribution of the revenues. If that won't do, then postpone the game to another week, later in the season.

Lenny Sienkohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18106249138571503999noreply@blogger.com
