Both had offers from some quality programs but chose BC. I'm guessing it had more to do with our thin depth than it did the prospect of playing with Uncle Dave, Mars or a true feshman. This time last year our best returning receivers were Momah and Flutie so playing time was basically guaranteed.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09868284984927336867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-53283031532747871122010-12-28T23:31:05.398-05:002010-12-28T23:31:05.398-05:00Any big time receivers looking at that logjam are ...Any big time receivers looking at that logjam are gonna go somewhere else they can play sooner.

Any big time receiver should be able to garner playing time over those guys. Once again, this is a defensive player. There are big problems on the offensive side of the ball that need to be corrected "pronto". I also note a "sadistic streak" on the part of Spaziani in his treatment of the "drown the puppy" squad of the "short timer" seniors. All of the injuries in practice should "raise some eyebrows". How does Flutie (not beloved by Spaz) tear a hamstring when he isn't even allowed to play? Then when he is opened up on the operating table, there is no tear. They have never offered to do that, and the whole family has never attended a bowl game together from what I've heard. He may not be coaching next year after all, which could have played into ALJ's decision. I think PSU is gently forcing him out by letting all his assistants interview for other jobs..

I really like that we have a lot of Mass guys starting in the near future. And I'm excited about recruiting, especially with the big name recruits and our standard BC guys. I will say that I'm expecting big things from him next year. Given recruiting trends, I'm hoping for a breakout year. Rettig needs to work on his accuracy and reads; we'll need a better QB than Tranq. I think really it's going to come down to position coaching over the next few years if we're going to make a BCS bowl.Benjaminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07896667472435291267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-25090370140136462892010-12-28T01:23:37.890-05:002010-12-28T01:23:37.890-05:00There are times where Spaz looks like he's in ...There are times where Spaz looks like he's in over his head.
