Live Game Feedback Post (for those of us at work)

Trying something new today -- opening up a post just for this game. I will be listening to Ted and watching later, so I'll welcome any comments that people want to make. To comment, you have to register with blogger/google. It is free and easy. We'll see how it goes.

  1. sounds good - we'll either be rejoicing together or using the blog as a punching bag to vent.

  2. Flutie22 will have his first anti-Oates post about 15 seconds after tip.

  3. Actually I can comment that there is nothing to these rumors. Nothing. Really. I just talked face to face with BC people at the Georgia Tech game and all said the same thing: "total bs." Skinner has two daughter nearing college and he wants them at BC. The only way he would ever leave is to go to the NBA and I don't see that happening (for a variety of reasons). Skins is here to stay.

  4. FYI, ESPN 360 is working and showing the game. Try it at your office.

  5. Of course the one downside to ESPN 360 is that we have to listen to Patrick and Vitale. Hey Dick, tell us again how you cut Al with the Pistons.

  6. somebody wake dudley up...

  7. Dudley needs to work on the defensive boards. He is not getting the touches on the other end. Terrible half.

  8. Typical Al Skinner game leads to a typical 10 point deficit at half. What a joke.

  9. the team is getting ripped on the radio. i can't help but agree with the fact that they're not playing with urgency and heart. at this point, i think everybody and their mother is getting frustrated...

  10. I don't know if it is speed. Ryan is killing them on the halftime show. The defense has been horrible. And there is no excuse for not getting Jared more touches.

  11. maybe the opposition has just plum figured us out? I mean we play the same game day in and day out, with diminishing results. Agreeably, the talent level has a massive impact on the success of this gameplan, but we've seen BC hit a wall in the last 10 games with no effort to innovate or work around it.

  12. Agree with Mo. It is one thing to be ashamed of bad behavior. bad play? give the guys a break.

  13. at least sean marshall is graduating.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Marshall is a non factor. At least Dudley is contributing in this half outside of his shots.

  15. Al, Al, the Ladies' Pal still has not made any adjustments at all yet. How has Johnny Oates played the entire second half?! They're basically playing 3 on 5 out there on offense when Roche and Oates are in there. How do you expect them to score?

  16. Bravesbill, Oates is actually playing well (for him).

  17. so we're getting killed in points in the paint. finally blair gets in and make a difference.

  18. The refs are killing Duds.

  19. Oates is playing awful on defense. I believe he just got dunked on again. There is no way Blair should have been riding pine for the first 10 minutes of this half. He came in, has blocked shots, and altered numerous others. There is only 3 minutes and change left and yet Al has infused 0 intensity, 0 inspiration in the team. And there's still no offensive adjustments. That offense looks as bad now as it did the entire game. What a joke.

  20. bravesbill is exactly right. atl I know you defend Skinner and he seems like an alright guy, but his refusal to make any adjustments is killing this team. This is an NIT caliber team

  21. Why is BC still running the flex with under three minutes left and down multiple possessions? All it does is waste the clock. They miss a shot and its basically over.

  22. Maybe God is on our side. Wow.

  23. it's going to be fun watching tyrese rice play for two more years.

  24. OT?? this team is making me go insane... let's go.

  25. Do you believe in miracles?

  26. unlikely win. i just threw up all over my desk. hopefully we're not feeling carolina blue tomorrow afternoon.

we need to stop sleep walking by tomorrow's game.

thanks for setting this up, bill.

  27. Bravesbill, you owe Oates and apology. He played well down the stretch.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Gordon, you made the right call. You don't want to use your good get out of work excuses for the conference tourney when the Big Dance is a week away.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I will give Oates props for hitting that big 3. That was probably the shot of his career. However, once he hits one, you know multiple firings will be going up right after. I still hope he doesn't start tomorrow. I saw him get dunked on too many times today.

  30. Don't you love how, when BC is down or loses, Bravesbill keeps harping his "Al sucks and never makes adjustments" schpiel, but when they win, the most insight we can get is "Do you believe in miracles?" or "God is on our side"? I do.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I do consider it a miracle when BC wins despite the coaching of Al Skinner. And the God is on our side comment was made after Rice's tying 3 pointer hit the front rim and then the backboard before going through the hoop. That was a pretty lucky bounce.

  32. I can't believe they won. The first score I saw waw at halftime and Dudley had laid an egg. Thank god for Tyrese. What happened at the end of the game? Who ignited the comeback?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I also bashed Al for not making adjustments. Finally he made one by playing Oates and Blair together and it worked. Might be something to look into tomorrow with Hansborough and Wright roaming the paint for the heels.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Agree the Oates/Blair combo seemed to work, though Al's been doing it the last few games. I actually think Oates plays better that way. Current working theory: he's afraid someone will bump into him standing too near the lane, but when Blair is in he can play in his natural position (on the wing and coincidentally very close to the bench). This game was a good preview of next year. Sure hope T. Rice can avg. 32 pts per game in league play.

p.s. just discovered the blog. Its great. Thanks.
