In-game comments post: Wake Forest

Wake games are never dull. This matchup means a lot to both teams, so I expect this game to be crazy too. Leave your thoughts and comments below.

  1. This is a biggie to set the tone for the season...we need it. Let's go Eagles!

  2. Great start. Great block by Spiffy on the TD.

  3. It seems like we have a better feel for this style of offense. Maybe Nova (with their spread option) was a good team to start the season.

  4. Well we are back to running up the middle on third down and short on offense and allowing huge 3rd and long conversions on defense.

    ReplyDelete
  5. That wasn't as good. Need to do a better job on 3rd downs. But that was also just a nice throw and catch on their TD. Hard to stop that.

    ReplyDelete
  6. They completed a long 3rd down to start the drive too.

  7. Liked the aggressive down field throws. The Wolford drop was a killer.

  8. WF/BC games are always wacky...but it's great to see us fired up and throwing downfield. We need some work tonight on toughness and execution. Wake is not Villanova...but ain't fumble recoveries sweet?

  9. Like Chase's decisiveness so far. He is looking for big plays.

  10. Is it my optimistic vision for greater & loftier days in our future, or do our cheerleaders look like they all transferred to BC from FSU? However, Chase Rettig's play tonight is no illusion, that's for sure. He's throwin' shots. (We've got a 105 degree heat wave going on here today so I'm just doing a few hallucination checks to validate what I'm seeing in HD...)

  11. I am loving the aggressiveness on first and second down on both the offense and defense. They get conservative on third though. As for the cheerleaders, I had the exact opposite thought haha.

  12. A little too cute with the fleaflicker.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Great play call, terrible throw

    ReplyDelete
  14. Amidon was wide open. Just severely underthrown.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Great sack for the big fella!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love watching Al Washington get excited on the sidelines.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Is all this offensive signal chaos and sputtering from Wake before the snap making anyone crazy... Andre finally gets a block from the O line and gets some yards.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Jesus, the BC line is just falling apart.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Somewhere Spaz is shaking his head thinking they should've taken a knee.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wow--what an amazing clusterbleep that was...a blocked punt? Special team's falling asleep at the wheel bigtime.

    ReplyDelete
  21. If Spaz is shaking his head we would all hear the ballbearings rattling. We just stopped Wake at the goal!!
Well, thjat's something to make us Believe in BC again...Wow. Go Eagles!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The fans who stayed away from this game suck.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Huge goal line stand! This defense looks so much better.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wow, it's so refreshing to hear Daz compared to Spaz. He took responsibility instead of blaming his players too.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wow. That was a crazy half.

More than happy to be up by 10 - Obviously

Who are we??? The fifty faces of BC - some great, some putrid . It's college football!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wake's #50 Whitlock is a Pre-season All-American

    Hint to Special teams:block #50.

    Got it?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Pretty cool to have a coach willing to put on the line, take responsibility, and give some awesome half time comments. Who wouldn't want to play for him. Intense and fun.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's so refreshing to hear the BC Head Coach be positive, talk with a tone that's affirming about the kids, applaud the goal line stand and take the hit as a coach for calling a play that didn't work...It's the complete reverse of every Spaz comment ever made. It's badly needed Oxygen.

    ReplyDelete
  29. We should be up by more. Left a lot of points on the field. Now we need to improve in the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm not liking this designed roll out for Rettig. He's not fast enough and our line isn't good enough for it to work. I don't think Rettig has completed a pass yet on these roll outs.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Offense sputtering...we need to throw a wrinkle in there...reverse to Spiffy?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agree with unknown

Does Ryan Day have any creativity?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Has Spaz decided to take over the offense now? Good Lord.

  35. Does Rettig look tentative, almost shaky--lost that ballsy, let it rip attitude ever since the long bomb pick?

    ReplyDelete
  36. He really hasn't had the chance to pass much since the pick. It's been basically all runs this half with a few roll outs.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Andre is working it!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ok, forget the reverse, let's just run it down their throats! Is Patchan ok?? We need him

    ReplyDelete
  39. I guess with Andre and OL (yes! Can you believe it??) manhandling WF, no creativity is needed.

    A great smash-mouth drive!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Can the defense hold?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Patchan is sitting on the bench looking unhappy.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Help. I am thinking like Spaz.

    Run out clock

    ReplyDelete
  43. Need the defense to hold here.

    ReplyDelete
  44. BTW, the defense has been much better so far tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Our deep covers are not hanging tough down field. Its a problem that a USC will exploit all night...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Let's go D! Stop them again here!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I admire Grobe and think he's a great coach, but he looks like he is asleep tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jack:

FYI, Patchan has a hip injury.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes Grobe seems off

    ReplyDelete
  50. Campanero is a dangerous guy. He's all they got.

    ReplyDelete
  51. How did we not tackle him behind the line on that one?

    ReplyDelete
  52. THE D LINE HAS BEEN REMARKABLE.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am about to lose power but all hats off to our BC team

    ReplyDelete
  54. Again fans who did not show suck

    ReplyDelete
  55. Fans leaving early unbelievable

    ReplyDelete
  56. The Eagle Walk thing, the vibe of the team, the whole Addazio gung ho approach is just a great energy for this team that was deep in the dark last year. It's Light and Respectful and traditional stuff. Love it love it love it. The big tests are coming but this is a great start.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Chase has been limping for a while now. Let's hope it is not serious.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Tick tick tick .......

    ReplyDelete
  59. Chase seemed quasi gimpy last year too.

    This is agony now.

    Tick tick tick

    ReplyDelete
  60. Edebali is really coming into his own. Covering a lot of ground.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Edibali has that relentless predator pursuit that we haven't seen since the pros took WonderBoy...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Tanner Price sulks like Jimmy Clausen

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wow, just noticed that Rettig has completed only 7 passes for only 123 yards. Could have sworn it was more.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Great night for Williams. Making good decisions and running well.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Rettig is hurting...

    ReplyDelete
  66. Get Williams out of the game

    ReplyDelete
  67. Not perfect, but another solid effort.

  69. Team is much improved. Coach gives a damn. Defense played great. Offense needs some work, and we are very thin in terms of talent, but I like where we are headed.
