We've got six wins, but why stop now? With a strong finish, BC could blow the doors off of most preseason expectations. Maryland will obviously focus on Williams. Can he run them over? Can our D stop Brown? It should be fun. Leave your thoughts and comments below.

I'd be surprised if Andre doesn't get at least 35 carries. I think Addazio will make it his mission to give him the opportunity to get to the Downtown Athletic Club.
ReplyDeleteAndre will get his 200 yds and 3 tds and BC wins 31-22.
Agree with the carries, but Daz's mission is to win. That will all but guarantee a bowl.

ReplyDeleteWith the way the team performed last year, I thought 4 wins was the best we could hope for. I figured this was a 3-year turn-around project. What a job by Coach Addazio! With pretty much the same players, he has taken a 2-win team and made them winners. Thanks players, Addazio and staff for bringing BC back to respectability so quickly. I am concerned for next year when we have to break-in a new qb, replace Amidon and Wiliams, as well as Freese, but I am hopeful this staff can figure it out.
ReplyDeleteNow let's beat the Twerks and send them off to the Big 10!
Duke is showing what happens when you come out less than completely focused on your opponent.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that the team has been completely focused on Maryland, rather than the Downtown Athletic Club or which bowl we might go to.
Go BC - beat Maryland today!
It figured that Duke would come back, but I don't want us to go down 2 scores on the road.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for kickoff.
ReplyDeleteAssuming Duke and Miami win their ACC games today
Quiz: If UNC beats Duke next week, and Miami beats Pitt and VaTech beats Virginia - 5 teams from the Coastal Division finish at 5 and 3.
Who plays FSU in the ACC CG? VaTech, GTech or Miami?
Where is everyone today?
ReplyDeleteThe fans are flat = potential trouble. Has it affected the team?
VaTech would probably bring the most fans and fill the place up. ACC needs a sell out or close to it in Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteI for one do not want to see Duke v FSU. Are they out if they lose to UNC? I think so.
Miami might bring in some fans. GTech fans stink.
BJK, in that scenario, VTech would play in the ACCCG based on record within a five-team minigroup. Virginia Tech is 3-1, while Duke, Miami and Georgia Tech would be 2-2 and North Carolina would be 1-3.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ry - that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI think Duke has their work cut out for themselves in Chapel Hill next week. UNC is hot!
It shows how competitive the rest of the ACC is, with FSU head and shoulders above this year.
AW = Beast. That stiff arm was classic.
ReplyDeleteI hope we don't get too stubborn with the run. Last 4 runs have been negative to meager.
ReplyDeleteMaryland winning the field position battle early.
ReplyDeleteMD defense has adapted already.
ReplyDeleteSo has their offense.
ReplyDeleteIs Ramsey playing at all?
ReplyDeleteOkay Mr. Ryan Day - they have adjusted on you. Let's win the chess match and get some field position - and then go to work.
Both teams pretty even. Maryland did have the wind. Credit them with making changes to stop Williams. I think we are kind of screwed until we have the wind at our backs.
ReplyDeletePlease let's not be obstinate and predictable. Mix it up.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Naples. You have to catch that ball!
ReplyDeleteBJK, Ramsey did not even make the trip. Hamstring injury.
ReplyDeleteI understand trying to get the passing game involved. But I think you need to get Williams the ball once on every series.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good defensI've series.
ReplyDeleteBryce Jones on punt return.
ReplyDeleteThis running is reminding me of the USC game.
ReplyDeleteGet Willis in their and change things up, please!
Ugh. Rettig has to fall on that.
ReplyDeleteI am not going to miss Rettig.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think now, Atl?
ReplyDeleteWe can't be one-dimensional.
Bad snap and bad decision by Rettig.
We are in big trouble for all you Heisman/NYC/Bowl people.
My wife said she wouldn't miss the QB a long time ago as well.
ReplyDeleteOkay - when the going gets tough..........
We bragged about how nasty we are all week.
This ain't NMSU or NC State (big losers at home to East Carolina).
Another freshman mistake by a senior QB… even Quentin Porter had more upside.
ReplyDeleteMaryland is doing a good job mixing it up on d.
ReplyDeleteBoy, the tight ends are playing like shit today!
ReplyDeleteRettig is much too jittery today.
ReplyDeleteWe're in Deep Kimchee and will need the D to pick us up.
ReplyDeleteAt least the defense showed up so far today.
ReplyDeleteHuge huge play.
ReplyDeleteNice block!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd say the D kicked in there, big time. And Andre is being Andre.
ReplyDeleteRettig has been jittery all season. He can't throw, can't run in any gear, makes bad decisions, panics easily, is clearly fearful of injury. A one dimensional offense is what we have had for years. Magnificent Montel Harris & Amazing Andre Williams aren't even enough to give this QB some credibility. Nothing has changed in the QB department since 2009...remember Dominique? The Uncle? Hell, bring in Marscovetra and whoever else is haunting the sidelines from the recent archives of The Quentin School of WTW? It's a Mantra at this point.
ReplyDeleteThe Maryland coaching staff has made some great adjustments today. They have figured out something about our defense.
ReplyDeleteThey are targeting ALJ.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a case of our dbs falling again.
ReplyDeleteWe clearly need to recruit better defensive backs. They have given up huge passing plays all season. We completely lucked out on the call as that was not interference.
ReplyDeleteMaryland is going to go wide open from here on out. They know our backs cannot cover receivers.
ReplyDeleteLady Luck is with us so far.
ReplyDeleteInteresting game of ups, downs and WTFs for both sides - that's College ball.
ReplyDeleteIf we win this one, somebody send a gameball to the refs for calling righteous penalties back-to-back against the home team! Wow.
ReplyDeleteMan, if we had a competent QB, with Williams rushing threat, the offense would be unstoppable. Instead, we are one-dimensional and if defenses are stout against the rush, we are toast. Let's be honest, NC State and NM State were terrible football teams.
ReplyDeleteI am very concerned as 6 wins does not guarantee a bowl. Syracuse looks tough and we could be sitting at 6-6 with no extra practices for our young players.
Eagleboston -they knew that before the game. More worrisome, CJ Brown is getting comfortable
ReplyDeleteRettig!!!!!! You frustrate me!
ReplyDeleteJesus, Rettig SUCKS!!
ReplyDelete.. . And Rettig imploding
ReplyDeleteGee. That was a surprise. He threw the ball with zero accuracy & timing...
ReplyDeleteHe almost missed the wide open defender!
ReplyDeleteFunny jack!
ReplyDeleteMaryland should be up by 2 scores. Thank God they keep shooting themselves in the foot.
ReplyDeleteHere's the only scenario we can reasonably hope for: Andre breaks a 99 yard scamper for a TD. MD is going to blitz 3 straight downs, right?
ReplyDeleteRettig is awful. He is not even serviceable. He can't even make the simple 5 yard passes.
ReplyDeleteGee. Another failure to convert...an inaccurate pass knocked down...shocking.
ReplyDeleteI feel for Rettig and what he's been through, but he just hasn't improved. Awful.
ReplyDeletePIERRE le Grande! Magnifique!
ReplyDeleteWow, a 5 minute dissertation on referees.
ReplyDeleteAndre over 100
ReplyDeleteRettig. 14% completion. (1/7) 1yard, 1 sack, 1 interception.
qBR = -14. (a negative QBr!!)
Uneven half. Need to regroup at half. Rettig needs to run it too.
ReplyDeleteWe are very lucky that this is tied up (although MD was lucky on their gift TD).
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that Andre doesn't tighten up in his sore shoulder during the half.
Let's go coaches - see if you can give these guys some offensive ammo. Andre will break a long one or two if we can loosen them up.
Otherwise the D has to win this game - pure and simple.
BC has attempted 9 pass plays. 6 have been incomplete, 1 complete for 0 yards, 1 sack, and one horrendous fumblerooski garbage that gave MD the ball at the 1.
ReplyDeleteOn the other side, BC has run 19 times for 113.
BC offense 0-7 on third downs. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteRyan Day is struggling to establish a credible pass game. between Rettig and the drops, I actually feel bad for Day.
ReplyDeletebJK gem worth repeating:
ReplyDelete"He almost missed the wide open defender!
4:45 PM"
Rettig needs to sit, if he can complete a 5 yard route he has no business being in the game...fucking clown shoes!
ReplyDeleteDidn't he also hit a defender with the ball??
ReplyDeleteDarius Wade can't enroll fast enough
ReplyDeleteNESN in Boston area is running tons of promos,
ReplyDeleteNot getting much interest from real advertisers
So much for BC as a TV draw
If Rettig continues to throw this poorly, why not put in Bordner? At least he is a threat with the run.
ReplyDeleteMore missed tackles!
ReplyDeleteWow, Florida gets beat. No bowl! To be fair, they have had a ton of injuries.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the safeties on these deep passes? All season long they have been burnt.
ReplyDeleteIf we only had a quarterback like Jones, we could be a major offensive threat. So frustrating.
ReplyDeleteDo we have a screen pass in our repertoire?
1.5 yards and a cloud of dust! Thanks, Day.
ReplyDeleteI am not trying to be sarcastic. Have we ever witnessed a passing attack this bad? In the history of modern BC football?
ReplyDeleteMan, I have big fears, the football gods are just not on our side yet. We can't win on the road (unless it is a 1-win team), which means we could finish 6-6 and be sitting at home during bowl season. Still, they have 2 more wins than I thought they would this year and we knew Addazio had a ton of work to do to clean up the mess from the previous incompetent coach. There is clearly a talent problem once you get beyond the top 2-3 players so it is going to take a couple more years to get Addazio's players in the system.
ReplyDeleteWish: a momentum shift
ReplyDelete3rd and 7, that gable screen wasn't even going to make the line of scrimmage. The 5 wideout set doesn't fool anyone when the QB can't get the ball more than 5 yards down the field.
ReplyDeleteHow about a Pick 6
ReplyDeleteForget about points. We just need a positive drive to get confidence back.
ReplyDeleteIf the offense fails to make yet another first down, there needs to be a quarterback change This ineptitude at the qb position has been going on for weeks and with Williams bottled up, we need something to spark off the bench.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad as I really like Rettig, but I like BC a lot more.
Mod, I don't think a wish is going to cut it. That is an absolutely NEED right now. There is no fire.
ReplyDeleteAndre is the man - he knows he will get mauled every play.
ReplyDeleteGo strong.
ReplyDeleteWhere has the end around been? That usually gets a positive gain...
ReplyDeleteThank you… great call.
ReplyDeletewe'll take it but that could have been a TD. See how it opens it up for Andre.
ReplyDeleteAnother great quick snap play… worked it against NCST for Myles free TD last week.
ReplyDeleteWe need a TD. If we run go straight ahead strong
ReplyDeleteTake the 3
ReplyDeleteThat is stupid game management. Absolutely dumb. In a close game, you have to save all timeouts. Also, don't go for it here. You need points. Kick the field goal.
ReplyDeleteCome on Daz - show some fire.
ReplyDeleteMake these guys believe.
Wish 2: a pic
ReplyDeleteSo we called a timeout to kick a field goal. Couldn't we have kicked it without the timeout? We may rue losing the timeout at the end of the game.
ReplyDeleteTwice first and goal short - best running back in the nation - big, nasty, we are BC going to run it down your throat, going to a bowl, going to NYC - thumping our chest and we walk away with 2 field goals.
ReplyDeleteIf we lose, there's the difference.
We should keep our mouths shut until we win a game against a half decent team on the road.
As well as the defense has played all game, I'm starting to get concerned with their play. They look tired, probably from having to run out after so many offensive 3 and outs.
ReplyDeleteWTF!! Just cannot win on the road. I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteWhat!!!! Another timeout. We are screwed. No chance for a 2 minute drill now. So frustrating!
ReplyDeleteThe punt fiasco has been waiting to happen for several games now
ReplyDeleteBryce Jones having a bad stretch, but he's capable of making a big play to make up fo it.
ReplyDeleteDaz sees the game on the line right here.
Is Dudeck hurt? He usually fields punts.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't field punts, he let them drop. I guess that was better.
ReplyDeleteHold 'emma to 3!!!
ReplyDeleteLet's stop these guys - they always stop us.
ReplyDeleteFaked out - badly
ReplyDeleteGame over. Our offense is not designed to come from behind. The program has improved, but we have a long, long way to go thanks to that prior jerk.
ReplyDeleteI know this might not make sense but we need to keep it on the ground to answer. Still plenty of time.
ReplyDeleteThe 19 and 22 yard field goals are going to kill BC. Have to score TDs. Probably had to go for it instead of kick the 19 yarder given how terrible BC's offense has been today.
ReplyDeleteOkay - down 11 in the 4th quarter.
ReplyDeleteWe are Big, Nasty BC - and we'll run it down your throat because we know you are getting gassed.
Andre will get 2 long ones and save the "day."
BC 27 - MD 24 :-)
Yes, need the "payoff" for Andre grinding all day
ReplyDeletePayoff:along TD
Is there any hope we can beat Syracuse on the road to get to 7 wins?
ReplyDeleteWe have ZERO touchdown drives today.
ReplyDeleteBah
I disagree. All season when BC has opened it up, they have scored big (remember the 34 against Florida State? Those were not on the ground). Sticking to the run down 11, with just 1 timeout is not going to work. We need to preserve clock and the only way to do that is to pass the ball.
ReplyDeleteThe payoff!
ReplyDeleteThat was what I was hoping for.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what I said above.
ReplyDeleteDon't listen to me, listen to Mod.
ReplyDeleteThese refs have been terrible for both sides.
ReplyDeleteFreese......Perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat was a total BS penalty...
ReplyDeleteTremendous run obviously, but that flag was absolutely a BS call.
ReplyDeleteOK Big Nasty BC - hold em for Andre.
Could use a turnover.
ReplyDeleteWe still need a touchdown and we need the D to step it up. Nail-biter.
ReplyDeleteBC needs to pop the receivers off the line to slow down these slants.
We miss Ramsey and Abdesmad. These guys are trying.
ReplyDeleteGo BC - stop em, and/or get a turnover.
You've got to bring that in Manny - good try.
Oh boy.
ReplyDeleteTE over the middle.
ReplyDeleteAsprilla, c'mon! Right in your hands.
ReplyDeleteWood call jack!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the fumble holds up umder review.
ReplyDeleteGood call Jack (wood too!)
ReplyDeleteI predicted that the first half calls would go against us in the 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteHope that's not the case. TV shows it's a fumble. Close call.
BC has no chance to run it here in that formation. Put 2 receivers out wide and move some people out of the middle.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, season is over.
ReplyDeletePheeeww, just a bruise most likely.
ReplyDeleteMiles on the wheel
ReplyDeleteThat is the run setting up the pass.
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ....only BC
ReplyDeleteSee, I told you we need to open it up!
ReplyDeleteUmmm… so that just happened.
ReplyDeleteRoad woes continue. We need to get this monkey off our backs.
ReplyDeleteIt's like watching a high school football game...DUUUUHHHH!
ReplyDeleteFreeze's first missed kick of the year....
ReplyDeleteGood lord.
ReplyDeleteThat was a gut punch. D needs to answer.
ReplyDeleteRenewed wish: a pic. Wipe the 'Tude off CJ Brown's mug
ReplyDeleteWow = as the announcer said "My Goodness".
ReplyDeleteAfter the tip, we fell asleep for a second, and they run it back for 2 points.
Ok guys, tighten it up and score another one.
Great play Rettig to Amidon.
I suppose the block counts as a miss and ruins Nate's perfect season.
Go BC - somehow find a way.
Conditioning will be a key now.
Need to call a timeout right there. Can't let it run all the way down! It would have given them more than 2 minutes!
ReplyDeleteUh are they playing for OT? Spaztastic!
ReplyDeleteThen again maybe not ha
ReplyDeleteHorrible clock management.
ReplyDeleteSettled for a 52 yard field goal from the hash. Will not centering it cost them?
ReplyDeleteYeah… because 50 yard FGs are automatic…. why not try to get another 10 yards?
ReplyDeleteFreese has never kicked a game winner in his 4 years
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahahaha!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome!!!!!
Wow wow wow.
ReplyDeleteReverse jinx!!!
ReplyDeleteBiggest BC victory in years!!!!
Most fun win in 5 seasons!
ReplyDeleteIt's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletenate freese take a bow!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was the battle of bad coaching there at the end and Maryland lost!
ReplyDeleteHasn't been that fun since pre Spaz. Great win
ReplyDeleteStick with the 6:08 poster, even though it ended a little more dramatically. :-)
ReplyDeleteAndre Williams has 897 yards and 6 tds in his last 3 games. Let that sink in.
ReplyDeleteBig ups to the O-Line.
I guess when you bring a 230 lb bowling ball to a gun fight, you have to lean on that bowling ball, even when the game is on the line and you are 40 yards from scoring position with time running out…. disappointed I didn't suck it up and drive the hour over to College Park and suffer in the wind and cold for that one.
ReplyDeleteOne Edsal Brain Freeze deserves another!! The Freese Icy Cold in the c;utch! What a sweet kick! 7 wins and once again Amazing Andre makes a magic move and really wins this game. When will this guy get some serious respect from the national media guys??
ReplyDeleteGO BC!!!
uh andre for heisman?
ReplyDeleteThat was an unbelievable 4th quarter. After scoring just 13 through 3 quarters, they score 2 TD's and 16 points.
ReplyDeleteWilliams has 295, 339 and 263 in the past 3 weeks. Tell me again why he is not in the Heisman conversation?
There needs to be a full on media blitz by the BC Sports Info dept.
Andre 2000 and his "Big Bois". Outcast for Heisman?
ReplyDeleteYes, Andre Heisman indeed! Time to take down the Big Least team.
ReplyDeleteYou have to give Addazio (and ATL) credit for not listening to idiots like me and continuing to do what you do - run the football. Down 11, most coaches would have abandoned the run.
ReplyDeleteAmazing job by Addazio this season and credit Bates for a great hire that was highly criticized when announced.
eagleboston and bravesbill are morons and it is hilarious to read some of their negative "we lost" posts after a terrific win
ReplyDeletemy favorite eagleboston post is him disguised as HomoJS on the other site, when he said the game was already over in the 2nd quarter
ReplyDeleteBC, you're the moron. Learn to read please. When did I ever say that BC lost or would lose? I said BC's season was over when Andre went down with what looked like a serious injury. That's all.
ReplyDelete
