Overall a great year - could have been 10-2 if we squeaked out wins over Clemson, FSU, and Colo St...but hey, we cant complain with 7-5. Love the way this team has battled all year. Love the coach, and that we signed him to a well-deserved extension. We are set up nicely for the future, let's hope he continues to recruit hard and bring in more playmakers. I would have loved to see Shakim Phillips utilized more this year, but understand our throwing limitations. GO EAGLES! Beat Penn St! 8-5 would be a great year, LETS DO THIS!!
2 areas of focus for recruiting: we need a QB that can pass and we need better defensive backs. The D backs have been beaten all year so we need more speed at that position. I would love to have a QB as accurate as the Penn State kid. We would have 14 points by now.
Big Jack. We are too one dimensional. It has cost us all season long. Because we can't pass, we have to play conservatively and this allows teams to come back on us. This reminds me of the Co State game.
ESPN showing the field goal range line when PSU is down 6 in overtime is the dumbest thing I've seen on TV since Penn State's commercial for their online school earlier in the game.
What a "horse manure" way to lose a game. The camera zeroed in on Murphy's hold. It was great and Knoll just shanked it. How do you take a team seriously which missed eight extra points? Penn St. deserved to win. How do you have three kickers who miss extra points? Who is the friggin' coach. What an embarrassment!
If you think this was bad, we are not even going bowling next year. We lose the entire oLine and we have to break in a QB, who can't be that good because they could not beat out the worst passer in my long memory of BC football.
What hurts more? Losing a game you're not expected to win or losing a game you should have won and were very capable of winning but didn't.
Since I'm 1000 miles away, that loss may be the tipping point for me renewing my season tickets of 40+ years.
Hey coaches - that's 40 plus years, and I'm seriously thinking of giving up my seats on the 50 yard line, because from a coaching standpoint, this game SUCKED.
This is still the same coaching staff that turned a 2 win program into a 7 win program overnight. Frustrating loss, but let's not lose perspective here.
I am so freaking sick of missed EPs, under/overthrown passes, dropped balls, moral victories, playing not to lose (and losing anyway.) Get it together, for the love of God!

ReplyDeleteBig day for the ACC. Let's go Eagles!
ReplyDeleteThe defense always starts slow. I'm not too concerned yet.
ReplyDeleteHold em.
ReplyDeleteI think we got away with pass interference on that 3rd down throw.
ReplyDeleteND - Rutgers drew 47,000 last year.
ReplyDeleteNice to out-draw ND.
It will take awhile to wear these guys down, if at all.
ReplyDeleteToo bad our QB can't pass or we would have a huge day against this defense.
ReplyDeleteD has to tighten up and play with some emotion.
ReplyDeleteOKay - let's go, Ryan Day.
ReplyDeleteWe need a drive this time.
I liked the 1st down call to Phillips, but they should have run on 2nd and 10.
ReplyDeleteMurphy is just a horrible, horrible passer. I won't miss that next year.
21 is not on top of his game today.
ReplyDelete2 areas of focus for recruiting: we need a QB that can pass and we need better defensive backs. The D backs have been beaten all year so we need more speed at that position. I would love to have a QB as accurate as the Penn State kid. We would have 14 points by now.
ReplyDeletePenn St has had numerous receivers get behind BC's defense already.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I have never seen Hilliman with that much speed!
ReplyDeleteSloppy game by both kicking teams so far.
ReplyDeletePenn State spot - he didn't make that 1st down.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm getting concerned about this defense. They just can't get off the field.
ReplyDeleteI know it is our game but we might want to lighten up on the blitzes. This QB is just too good. He will pick them apart all night.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Change it up, Coach Brown.
ReplyDeleteThought pass D had improved. Not so tonight. So far.
ReplyDeleteWe needed that and we'll take it.
ReplyDeleteMurphy completed that to Criimmins but it was another terrible pass
ReplyDeleteStory of our season. We just cannot convert 3rd downs. It is why we have 5 losses.
ReplyDeletehad the one guy - Callinan? - wide open and we couldn't complete the 1st down. Unreal.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is BC is not playing well and yet they are tied up.
ReplyDeleteOkay, let's smash our way down and get some points.
ReplyDeleteTerrible call.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why is Dudek in on 3rd down?
He really adds nothing to the effort.
Murphy is killing us tonight. Sherm is 5'5". Why is he throwing the ball 7 feet in the air?
ReplyDeleteAt some point, the coaches may have to look at Murphy as a liability and give Wade a try. He just cannot keep missing easy throws like this all night.
What the hell is Silberman thinking? He just killed the drive. Idiotic
ReplyDelete31 yard punt.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to some big adjustments at halftime.
Let's not give up points as the first half wears down, like we do many times.
Got away with a block in the back there. That was clearly a penalty.
ReplyDeleteLooked like a block in the back.
ReplyDelete3 timeouts and time running out and we are running the ball?
ReplyDeleteJust punt it away. 41 seconds is plenty of time for PSU to get into field goal range.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we running the ball??
ReplyDeletehaven't shown the desire to win this game yet.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we'll make some adjustments at the half.
Don't get the whole series. Strange.
ReplyDeleteWow. We are playing right into their hands.
ReplyDeleteCut the sh#@ boys. We suck.
This is a really mediocre team from a bad conference that we are tied with now. Not a good showing by BC.
ReplyDeleteWe are more successful on 4th down than 3rd down.
ReplyDeleteToichdown! Great drive. And Murphy actually passed well.
ReplyDelete21 is a liability tonight.
ReplyDeleteA little breathing room but there is a lot of time left.
ReplyDeleteLeave it to our defense to get Penn State right back in it.
ReplyDeleteWe have to score once or twice more for sure. Our DBs can't defend very well tonight.
ReplyDeletedamn. BC never makes it easy. We should not be this close with a terrible Big 10 team.
ReplyDeletePlaying not to lose means we are got to lose.
ReplyDeleteOkay - here's our chance. Will we take it?
ReplyDeleteOne 85 + yard drive.
Or at least a 75 yard drive and a FG.
Why hasn't Sherm touched the ball this game.
ReplyDeleteThis field position is eventually going to burn us.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible. Play not lose guarantees a loss every single time.
ReplyDeleteThat was a TD.
ReplyDeleteTerrible defensive display.
Penn State deserves to win this game.
Why does Brown fail in these types of games?
Not to mention Ryan Day.
Big Jack. We are too one dimensional. It has cost us all season long. Because we can't pass, we have to play conservatively and this allows teams to come back on us. This reminds me of the Co State game.
ReplyDeleteDisastrous. Murphy and Allston need to get a lot whole lot more touches
ReplyDeleteThese refs want Penn State
ReplyDeleteWhy was Hohnson allowed to come in unblocked?
ReplyDeleteI said it on twitter, but if this game comes down to our kicker, you're gonna have to put me on suicide watch.
ReplyDeletePlease do not play for a field goal here.
ReplyDeleteCrap they are playing for the field goal. Pa State can then drive against our shit defense for the win.
ReplyDeleteWe should have played for the TD all the way.
ReplyDeleteJust short.
With our terrible defensive play today, Penn State can score a TD.
We needed the touchdown. How many times does Daz have to get burned by that?
ReplyDeleteHorribly called defensive series Don Brown.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Don Brown is not up to these big games.
ReplyDeleteHowever, we should have played for the TD, not two Gary Tranquilesque runs up the middle from the 10.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Sherm?
ReplyDeleteGreat we need a TD not a field goal.
And that defines the season. Momentum killing missed PAT.
ReplyDeleteJesus fucking Christ. What a fucking waste.
ReplyDeleteESPN showing the field goal range line when PSU is down 6 in overtime is the dumbest thing I've seen on TV since Penn State's commercial for their online school earlier in the game.
ReplyDeleteI knew the kicker would screw us, but even that was a surprise. Most typical BC loss I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThis game was lost when we went for 3 at the end of the 4th.
ReplyDeleteFucking disgrace
ReplyDeleteWhat a "horse manure" way to lose a game. The camera zeroed in on Murphy's hold. It was great and Knoll just shanked it. How do you take a team seriously which missed eight extra points? Penn St. deserved to win. How do you have three kickers who miss extra points? Who is the friggin' coach. What an embarrassment!
ReplyDeleteYeah.
ReplyDeleteThat's BC.
Why the surprise?
As much as Daz has meant to the program, this kicking situation is squarely on him. And his failure to find a solution is pretty woeful.
ReplyDeleteBe a dude. Find a kicker.
If you think this was bad, we are not even going bowling next year. We lose the entire oLine and we have to break in a QB, who can't be that good because they could not beat out the worst passer in my long memory of BC football.

True BJK. Coaching this game was atrocious. Way too conservative, esp. with the lead in the second half. Don Brown looked clueless.
ReplyDeleteThis is still the same coaching staff that turned a 2 win program into a 7 win program overnight. Frustrating loss, but let's not lose perspective here.
ReplyDeleteI am so freaking sick of missed EPs, under/overthrown passes, dropped balls, moral victories, playing not to lose (and losing anyway.) Get it together, for the love of God!
