Baseball sweeps regional!

The hottest team in college baseball might be BC! Although only a 3 seed in a four team bracket, BC ran through their whole regional without dropping a game. Sunday they beat Tulane to win the bracket and advance to the Super Regional.

While you could have considered BC a bubble team, their amazing performance in Oxford showed that their bid was well deserved. It was also validation of the season they had. In the past, early exits from the NCAAs raised questions to how good BC actually was. No doubt this season.

    What a stellar performance by the Eagles! So happy for them; well deserved! Not easy to come out of the regional undefeated, but they did it.

    Nothing new here. The defense is great. When Tulane made a run in the fifth and eighth innings, Adams at shortstop started two double plays. Adams also is quite the hitter with a number of doubles. Gambino the coach also has made some good pitching changes.

    Two wins away from the College World Series in Omaha! The two week CWS is an outstanding sporting event and highly recommended. Most visit for the tailgating experience alone.

    Hats off to Coach Gambino! It took time and I was dead wrong about him based upon his early struggles. Its all about the pitching more than anything else. The starting rotation of King, Dunn and Stevens plus some decent relief was the main difference maker. Credit to Bates for keeping Gambino on - I would not have done so.

    "Slow and steady" still wins the race. It is important to relax and enjoy the moment. You don't worry about Miami until the weekend. BC has reached a plateau. They have nothing to apologize for. What is done is done. Relax and enjoy the moment. Well done guys. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, take a nap and watch TV. Friday, it will be time to go to war.

    always great to see success of our Eagles - no matter the sport

    but, seriously, baseball is a dreadfully dull sport, esp at NCAA level.

    It might be better at the NCAA level @mod34b. BC is a fun, exciting team to watch. Doesn't just hit bombs but moves station to station to score, absolutely great to watch.

    Lax will outdraw baseball by a large margin in New England.

    BC baseball coach will cash in on this success and go to another school anyway... the 2016 fun is a one-year phenomena
