Let's hope we don't have to win this one with a field goal! Whether we win or lose - BC seems to have a knack for elevating your blood pressure right up until the end.
Too many runs in general. That was a bad call to run a sweep in 3rd and 2 esp. if you were planning to go for it on 4th. Need to get uphill quick. Seems like BC can't get to the corner in general either.
I think everyone is being a little hard on Daz and this team. Playing at Gillette is a big game, bowl like atmosphere. Just listen to the crowd -- the echoes off of the empty seats could intimidate any coach or player...
Dude, I played soccer at BC. I could make a fing extra point with my weak foot for God's sake. There has to be someone on the end of Ed Kellys bench who wants to be a hero
Defense is bailing out a very bad offense. Jeff Smith is a bright light while Towles is a flickering one. Smith has been holding for extra points. Because of the touchdowns, he didn't do it. The sub can't hold. I believe it was number 15.
Towles has 118 yards passing. Can't remember the last team we were over 100 yards in the first half. BC defense giving up zero rushing yards on 22 attempts.
Lots of stupid penalties by BC in the first 2 games. This one is a killer as UMass is in BC territory. Offense is back to looking sluggish. Need the defense to step up again.
They came out of the locker room playing like a bag of wet hair... Must have been an inspiring, motivating speech.
The defense is still sick... My wife has a year of eligibility left and hit a few FGs this morning... Oh yeah, she's 8 months pregnant. Honestly, these guys must not practice kicking at all.
nice to see the win but hard to get too excited over beating umass. the defensive line is one of the best in the nation but i am very concerned with the secondary. the oline played better but this is umass. hillman seems slow. towles can make a big pass but he seems very capable of a bonehead play. i know i sound mostly negative but realistically this team is still at best a 500 team this year. please prove me wrong bc
Flashes of good stuff, but the offense was often sluggish. Towles has an arm but makes occasional hideous decisions. Hope we've seen the last of Lichtenberg. The D was mainly solid, forcing some turnovers, but the secondary is sometimes shaky. Would like to see more holes opened up for the running game. But, we won. Whew.
rgmarine, I agree hilliman looks slow and he is not an instinctive runner(another example of a Daz guy). Where was myles willis in the second half? he is our best back. That is my only complaint about the eagles offense today.
Lichtenstein was hurt today according to the nesn tv announcers. Not sure what caused the injury. I don't foresee him having much of an impact on the team the rest of the season.
Let's hope we don't have to win this one with a field goal! Whether we win or lose - BC seems to have a knack for elevating your blood pressure right up until the end.
ReplyDeleteLet's end this horrific 9-game losing streak!
ReplyDeletePar for the course on D.
ReplyDeletePar for the course on O.
Should be a fun day. Shoulda bet the under again.
Better hope this isn't close.
ReplyDeleteBC under the Daz
5-11 in games decided by 7 or less
2-10 in games decided by 3 or less
8 straight losses in "one score" games
Quite a hire. Quite a leader of young men.
Ever to excel my ass. Two major bowls in past 63 years.
Let's do some play-action. They are doing run blitzes.
ReplyDeleteThat was the right call on 4th down.
ReplyDeleteAt least they didn't kick a FG there. Still some pretty terrible play calling. And the OL looks pretty sad.
ReplyDeleteCan't criticize him there. He went for it. That was the right call. However, I would have rolled Towles to the right with a run-play option.
ReplyDeleteThat was just a broken play. Now the Offense is going to have to start moving the ball. I fear the team pressing.
ReplyDeleteOh Jesus. This is sad.
ReplyDeleteIf they lose does Daz get fired?
ReplyDeleteThis is going well.
ReplyDeleteWho is #10? He let the receiver blow right by him. He must have assumed he had safety help.
ReplyDeleteBrave, that would be 10 straight losses. But, my guess is you would play out the season and then fire him.
ReplyDeleteThey need to be less predictable on offense. Too many runs on first down.
Hilliman looks so slow
ReplyDeleteAnd Towles needs to stop throwing hospital balls
ReplyDeleteToo many runs in general. That was a bad call to run a sweep in 3rd and 2 esp. if you were planning to go for it on 4th. Need to get uphill quick. Seems like BC can't get to the corner in general either.
ReplyDeleteZero insight TGS. That information is known already.
ReplyDeleteThat 3rd down cal was ridiculous! You need more than 10 yards and you are tossing to the line of scrimmage?
ReplyDeleteIf Daz gets fired immediately following a loss here, maybe you have to root for UMass.
ReplyDeleteSecondary looks lost.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Knucklehead today? My bet is he is taping up the Daz's pulled groin.
ReplyDeleteWe have to bring pressure on 3rd down. QB is too accurate if we give time
ReplyDeleteTGS, groins on your mind?
ReplyDeleteOuch! Your wit flows like the Daz's offense.
ReplyDeleteSarcasm is for losers.
ReplyDeleteHighlight so far the fan shot of UMass skanks with cutoff tees
ReplyDeleteThe moron needs a timeout to punt. Beyond Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to stay positive but...it's really difficult.
ReplyDeleteSweet- and Smith has pulled two crappy passes in for Towles
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG
ReplyDeleteI think everyone is being a little hard on Daz and this team. Playing at Gillette is a big game, bowl like atmosphere. Just listen to the crowd -- the echoes off of the empty seats could intimidate any coach or player...
ReplyDeleteAnd make any kicker miss another extra point..............
ReplyDeleteHey, for once the field position strategy worked! And a play-action pass on first down to boot!
ReplyDeleteBut......the kicking game blows it yet again.
What a joke. This is fucking ridiculous. Pull some schmuck out of the stands at this point.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievably atrocious!
ReplyDeleteNice throw by Towles and a great catch by Smith. Nice hands!
ReplyDeleteDude, I played soccer at BC. I could make a fing extra point with my weak foot for God's sake. There has to be someone on the end of Ed Kellys bench who wants to be a hero
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, the ball went through the uprights!
ReplyDeleteEvery coach in America goes for 2 there.
ReplyDeleteSmith is the man!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a passing game for the first time in years!! Me like the aggressive play calling!
All jokes aside, that was a nice throw by Towles.
ReplyDeleteBad Towles rears his ugly head again. Such a bad throw after two good ones.
ReplyDeleteSomeone tell Daz a 42 yard FG is harder to make than a 37 yarder
ReplyDeleteDon't you take the penalty?
LOL- nevermind
ReplyDeleteMurph, I was thinking the same thing. I would have taken the penalty, even though it gives them another down.
ReplyDeleteWait- where's our graphic where we have to get to for a FG attempt?
ReplyDeleteNice job defense!!
ReplyDeleteIs lichtenberg injured or just benched?
ReplyDeleteOL great on pass. Weak on runs.
ReplyDeleteConcerning they can't move ball on ground vs lowly UMAss
kicking is just hysterical.
ReplyDeleteDefense is bailing out a very bad offense. Jeff Smith is a bright light while Towles is a flickering one. Smith has been holding for extra points. Because of the touchdowns, he didn't do it. The sub can't hold. I believe it was number 15.
ReplyDeleteTowles has 118 yards passing. Can't remember the last team we were over 100 yards in the first half. BC defense giving up zero rushing yards on 22 attempts.
ReplyDeleteWe need points!
Hilliman 1 run for 73
ReplyDeleteOther carries 26 rushes 39 yards
The o line stinks
Offense needs to change quickly
Can someone tell me why Issabella was not recruited by BC?
ReplyDeleteapparently lichtenberg is injured. BC does not seem tissue injury reports
ReplyDeletethe ref seems to have some weird speaking style......
ReplyDeleteis he on something??? slooooowww..mootion..
ReplyDeleteLots of stupid penalties by BC in the first 2 games. This one is a killer as UMass is in BC territory. Offense is back to looking sluggish. Need the defense to step up again.

BC as passing team!
ReplyDeleteThey take too long to get the play in... Towles has the experience to do this from the line.
ReplyDeleteburn those TOs steve
ReplyDeleteAnother blown 3rd quarter timeout in a close game! I'm going ballistic!
ReplyDeletekicking follies resumes
ReplyDeletebut it is good!!!
ReplyDeleteShit organization... Meaningless timeout
ReplyDeleteHEY! A made FG!
ReplyDeleteBC got away with pass interference on the INT, but I will take it!
ReplyDeleteAnother made FG!
ReplyDeleteFucking Daz. 3 runs up the middle again. Trying to run down the clock in the 3rd quarter ha.
ReplyDeleteknoll is the new kicker! see ya Colt
ReplyDeleteBB-- i noticed that too. Daz gets engaged and kills the offense...
ReplyDeleteWho did not predict the 3 straight runs in the redzone?
ReplyDeleteZero killer instinct.
ReplyDeletedaz is the only court in USa who will ty yo run out clock in 3Q
ReplyDelete15 yard net on punt stupid
ReplyDeleteI don't like the punt there. The D is playing well. Go for it.
ReplyDeleteAt least try to put this game away. Let UMass hang around down less than 2 TDs.
ReplyDeleteNice, we gained 15 yards on that punt.
ReplyDeleteThe play not to lose mentality is out in full force now.
ReplyDeleteThis Defense is going to keep the team in every game.
ReplyDeleteThat should have been a penalty on the UMass bench for bumping Rouse.
ReplyDeleteThis OLine is looking much better than the first half.
ReplyDeleteFinally, a win!! It's been a long, agonizing year.
ReplyDeleteHey-we won-sweet
ReplyDeleteFlorida beat this same team 24-7. And that was a home game for Florida.
ReplyDeleteShhh... don't count our chickens before they've hatched.
ReplyDeleteI do love our D.

I believe Lichtenstein's injury was to his pride.
ReplyDeleteI heard the fund managers were not happy with the ROI from that game(if you know what I mean). He was the reason.
