Providence and Holy Cross were the cream of New England in basketball for sure, until we rose up to shake things up. When I was at BC our rivarly with Holy Cross was very intense and therefore a lot of fun. They were snubbed by the Big East - I don't remember the reasons why (too many small Catholic Schools?) - and the rest is history.

I'll think of Maryland as the top-notch program it is - no need to belittle anyone. We're playing Bryant because of new Head Coach Tim O'Shea, formerly a BC assistant.

I agree with Joe Bags - the 9:00pm weeknight tipoffs are tough - everything is controlled by TV, of course. Someday the bubble will burst - just don't know when. Seems as though we had attendance problems last year because of stuff like this.

I hope Jeff Smith remains injury free. He's got a lot of guts and seems like a real nice guy. Watching him run for daylight will be very exciting.Big Jack Krackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12202172743722727956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-13823400436535351202008-08-27T09:29:00.000-04:002008-08-27T09:29:00.000-04:00I agree w/ John. I like it because it means I'll have time for dinner after work instead of eating Conte hot dogs, but I can't imagine those games are going to be popular with families, who were probably the most consistent fans as far as attendance goes last year.Joe Bagshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08638184146924739314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-48951256118785664192008-08-26T23:57:00.000-04:002008-08-26T23:57:00.000-04:00I think the HC guys would be better off worrying a...I think the HC guys would be better off worrying about the teams that are actually on their schedule. Perhaps that would help them get past the Patriot quarterfinals and maybe even allow them to avoid another season sweep at the hands of Navy.downtown_residenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16310171123874762405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-88512219702281951202008-08-26T21:16:00.000-04:002008-08-26T21:16:00.000-04:00I thought Maryland fans were known as smart, witty...I thought Maryland fans were known as smart, witty and well informed? Well, Maryland Conservatarian, your team also plays Bryant, as well as Youngstown State, Delaware State, and Elon. Why come on our blog complaining about our schedule? And doesn't your team have a "better" coach, more highly touted recruits, and a recent national championship? surely you should be decrying your own schedule rather than attacking oursAnfield10https://www.blogger.com/profile/13591451402169412047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-35548850808992987572008-08-26T19:40:00.000-04:002008-08-26T19:40:00.000-04:00I for one like playing the College of Holy Cross. ...I for one like playing the College of Holy Cross.
