At a minimum, out of conference records would count towards:

1) determining the 2 at-large births from the BCS standings (combination of record, SOS, and polls/rankings) and

2) seeding the 8 tournament teams

Plus, there will always be additional bowls for the rest of the ~64 other teams that are postseason eligible. So overall resume would count then as well.

This isn't so far off from how it is today.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15511919115372205489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-55128517947483851692007-11-26T16:00:00.000-05:002007-11-26T16:00:00.000-05:00Brian: "Every conference needs a championship game...Brian: "Every conference needs a championship game to level the playing field in my opinion. Granted, I am biased and no one in the media seems to think the same as I do.

I think Kansas is a little high at 3 though. The only team they have played with a >.500 winning pct and they lose.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15511919115372205489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9512562.post-47760683203408892662007-11-26T14:53:00.000-05:002007-11-26T14:53:00.000-05:00how does VT move down 5 spots after a convincing w...how does VT move down 5 spots after a convincing win over a ranked uva team? weird.

How many teams would have the exact same record as ohio state or wvu if they played the exact same schedule. To reward two teams with a shot at the national title that didn't have to play a conference championship seems a little crazy to me.

I don't think its far-fetched to think that an Illinois/Michigan couldn't beat Ohio State on a neutral field to win the Big 10 in a championship game. The Big East is another matter, since I think the conference is pretty weak this year and WVU is clearly the best team.

To put this in perspective, VTech would have already won the ACC w/o an ACC CG even though we finished second and we beat them.

Every conference needs a championship game to level the playing field in my opinion.
