In-game comments post: Bowling Green

This thread is open for in-game comments. I have ESPN U so I'll be watching TV and will not be online during the game. Leave your comments and thoughts below.

For those of you without ESPN U, remember to check out your local Game Watch.

  1. Pruitt is to slow and bulky to play the spread... bring in an extra DB and beg them to run.

  2. The only time BC can stop this defense is when they blitz. BC needs to blitz virtually every play. We all know that won't happen though thanks to Spaz and his zone pass coverage.

  3. Matty looks solid (12 of 13 2 TDs) but BGSU throwing at will. Great to have Jeff Smith back. Great return for 64 yards.

Hey, Paul Anderson did something good!

  5. Good to see that the defensive backs are back to their ball-hawking ways from the first couple games. Those turnovers are the life-blood of this defense.

  6. Wow, Mr. Jarvis has dropped 4 passes already. Why is this character playing again already?

  7. That was a great rush out of Ramella. A nice cusion to get Crane into the game.... and there goes pick No. 4!

  8. Wow. That was quite a defensive flurry to end the half. BGSU's last four drives ended with picks. That's how we roll! What do you think, if we get up five scores, time to bring in Crane? That would be a nice little development.

  9. BC has to play Ryan at least the entire 3rd quarter so he can pad his stats for the Heisman voters.

  10. A lot of good things happening in this game. Sid Vicious hit his career long 45 yd FG, but it still looks like he's trying to miss a PAT. Ryan, looks solid, unfortunately, they should leave him in there until the 4th. He needs at least 300 yds and a couple more TDs to stay competitive for the Heisman, and that is good for the program. BGSU can have all the underneath passing they want. Until they try and go downfield, they are going to lose this one, and Sheehan, although very good, is starting to make more mistakes. He may look similar to Ryan on paper (although not with 4 INTs), but you see the difference between a good QB and a Heisman QB. Great game to watch so far, GO EAGLES.

  11. I was really worried about this game. Wasn't sure if the team would come in focused.

Wow - this is great. Way to go Jarvis - keep trying and don't get down - good things will happen.

  12. (different Brian). I disagree with Bravesbill. Keeping Ryan in would look bad for the University. Once the game is in the bag, put Crane in.

  13. Playing Ryan for 3 quarters would not look bad. He would sit out an entire quarter. Further, BGSU would not be able to close the lead to make the score seem closer than the game really was. Finally, BC needs to prove that its belongs in the Top 5 in the country. Demolishing BGSU would help prove that point.

  14. Jamie Silva is the man.

  15. I would have to agree with Bravesbill and Eagleinexile, playing Ryan through the 3rd quarter is the right thing to do. Having Matty stay in contention for the Heisman is important. It keeps the team in the spotlight and improves recruiting. At this point, Crane should be coming in as Matty has already gotten his two additional TDs in the second half and is right aroudn 300 yards. Great performance from the team thus far.

  16. This is just the kind of performance we needed going into Jag's "third quarter of games": decent defensive showing, Matty Ryan got to pad his stats, and Crane had some reps for next season.

Love the momentum for South Bend.

  17. Don't look know, but WI looks like their on the ropes v. Illinois...

Dare I say 5th in the country?

  18. Does anyone know what the interception total for Silva is this year? I smell a Thorpe award.

  19. I believe he has 5 now, although he's got no shot at the Thorpe Award.

  20. Bravesbill = Debbie Downer
