In-game comments post: Northeastern

It is only Northeastern and it is only online, but this is still BC football! Let's hope the Spaz era begins with a bang.

Since this is a ESPN360 game, I will be online during the game but probably not posting. Feel free to leave your comments and thoughts below.

  1. For anyone who doesn't have 360, there's a streaming gamewatch at EagleOutsider.com

  2. Is the radio feed on RKO or WEEI?

  4. If you don't have ESPN360, call a friend that does have it ANYWHERE. Either get their ESPN userID and password or give them yours. Have them sign on to ESPN. Then go to ESPN360. Have them ACTIVATE the Remote ACCess.
Now you can log on from your PC. Some steps to take include installing a player and when a red box pops up asking for cable carrier, select the one in your area. All done. enjoy.

  6. Kick-off coverage needs improvement.

  7. That was a very nice 3rd down stop by Nick Clancy. The young linebackers look good so far.

  8. Gotta give Spaz credit already, these guys did not come out flat at all. Not perfect so far, but damn near it.

  9. harris gets another one. keep it up boys. shinskie looked decent in his first time under center since high school. lets go baby, keep it coming.

lets work out the kick off coverage.

  10. Wow, Montel was dead behind the line of scrimmage and he turned it into a TD. Mmason, I'm ready for my margarita!

I'm guessing one more series with Shinskie and then we may see Marscovetra the rest of the day.

Kuechly is all over the field!

  11. F technology. I could't use 360 "remote". bceagles is charging now and weei is not running live stream.

  12. My cable provider doesn't carry 360 so a question: is there a reason that Tuggle is on the bench after attempting only one pass?

  13. Gunnell is going to be a nice weapon in the kicking game. Granted, I realize this is just Northeastern, but this BC team does not look like an ACC bottom feeder to me.

  14. WRKO has a live stream

  15. For those not able to see the game, Bowman just drilled the Northeastern QB. Knocked him clean out of the game.

  16. Bowman just delivered another sick hit!

  17. lets hope haden and harris can continue this all year. harris is a great, great back.

tuggle looks so much like michael vick is scary.

  18. Here's the conundrum - BC desperately needs to work on the passing game, but they are up by so many it would look like piling on.

  19. eagleboston, i was just thinking the same exact thing. we really need these qb's to exercise their arms to see whose is most fit.

  20. It's so nice not to get palpitations whenever the QB touches the ball. They both need work, but at least there's raw material there.

Now if we could only get a decent kicker; that will kill us against real teams.

  21. Awesome first half from this squad! so exciting, especially to see Justin tossing it a little on that drive. And raise your hands if you thought we would out-score Georgia Tech (only the best offense in the ACC) in the first half this week.

  22. BC just put together a nice 2-minute drill engineered by Tuggle. The drive included a beautiful 42 yard pass to Larmond and was capped by a TD toss to Harris, his 3rd of the day!

Just to give a little perspective, Iowa is ranked way ahead of BC and is struggling against UNI 17-16. I believe UNI is at the same level as Northeastern. Once again, BC is getting no respect nationally.

  23. For those of you that don't want to pay for the CBS feed, you can always listen to the student radio team at wzbc.com.

    They are usually pretty good.

  24. i dont know if we could have asked for a better first half with unproven LBs, QB, DT, etc. keep it up boys, keep playing hard and lets continue to move the ball on O and stop them on D.

they came out fired up. gotta love that.

  26. Wow--this first half was fun to watch! Yeah, it's Northeastern but it's good to see our Eagles in action--I'm with you, BlockParty--alot of good things are happening with the younger guys, and Tuggle is definitely looking good after the snap--his passing needs some work, but I always liked his potential as a running threat even in his high school films . Montel is awesome--so much potential , too. The O line is bigger than I thought they'd be--and Gunnell is just a huge plus all the time. What do you all think of the LB's? I know it's the half, so you're all makin' those margaritas. But let us know what you think of Shinskie- he's got an arm. Wonder if we'll go with 2 QB's--if this keps up , we may get to see Marscovetra & Boek, too. We've got some WR's too. So many posibilities. Go Eagles! After the game, we'll see you all at the Malibu Chili Cook off...

  27. Shinskie has a pretty strong arm and looks not too bad. If you have the threat of Tuggle running as well this could be a real fun season.

  28. Notre Dame looking unstoppable against Nevada. It's gonna be tough to go into South Bend and beat them this year. But, I think if we play smash mouth football we have a shot as while they have a lot of speed, i don't think they are that tough.

    ReplyDelete
  29. best case scenario to start the year. 200+ rushing yards, no points given up by the D. Montel with 3 tuts in all.

  30. You could not envision a better coaching debut for Spaz. Great line play, defensive shutout, awesome running attack, no major injuries, few penalties and plenty of playing time for the QB's as well as the reserves that have not seen the field much over the past 2 years.

Next week will give us a much better look at how this team stacks up as Kent State is a MAC Team.
