For the first time all year, the O-line shows up on the opening drive on the road. Montel really grinds out some yards to get to the goal-line and then a terrible pass from Shin. Uh oh.
I guess the crucial word there was "hope". Eagleboston, you're right though about CMU, good point. At least that game opened up. This one just feels dead.
Jesus Christ, Shinskie! Just run for it! Stop forcing these throws into multiple coverage! That should've been a second pick there. I am really not feeling good about this game.
Chicagofire, I totally agree. We really have a hot-hand offense. Our O-line isn't good enough to force balance down the defense's throat. Tranquill needs to realize what's working, especially on the 3rd and short plays, and rely on that.
BC dodges a bullet. Luke looked awesome on that series.
Scoreboard watching: North Carolina is up on Miami 7-0. I really fear for next week's "home" game at a half-empty Alumni. UNC has been on a tear the past few weeks.
Yeah, Tranq has been calling a pretty good game. The those two third-and-short calls were poor, but the move to really challenge UVa downfield in the passing game was really smart. Hopefully the offense can start executing a little better here.
That was worse than watching us get thrashed by Clemson and VaTech because this VA team is going nowhere, playing in front of a crowd that has already abandoned them. We should be rolling over them, instead we're playing the guys who have nothing to play for. Shades of the famous collapse against Syracuse four years ago (I think?).
My first game watching on ESPN360. Every time they return from commercial, the picture goes black and I have to resize the window to return it. Anyone else?
I wonder if on obvious passing downs, they should take McLaughlin out and put in a faster linebacker? He's just not quick enough to go into pass coverage.
This is pathetic. Not a single positive play for the offense on this drive. The receivers let their QB down and then he made a couple bad throws before that sack. Ugh. Try some run plays.
This game is pathetic. We've been trying to give this game away all day and Shinskie finally succeeded. The play-calling and execution in the second-half have been awful. Blegh.
Shinskie does not have it on the road. Put in Marscovetra. I'm serious. If you cannot score more than 7 points against this UVA team after 3 quarters, you need to mix things up.
I'm with you, eagleboston. Shinskie is rattled and making poor decisions and poor throws. He looks uncomfortable in the pocket and refuses to take easy, underneath throws. Take him out, run it with Harris, and give Marsco some easy throws.
I guess these last 3 games don't really matter. Clemson is clearly on a mission and is not going to lose to this crappy Virginia team. If we can't get to the ACC CG, then a 6-5 BC team really does not get a better bowl opportunity than a 9-3 team. I know that seems crazy, but it's true.
Scoreboard watching: -Miami is down six at UNC early in the 4th. -Stanford is pummeling USC in LA. -South Carolina is hanging tough with Florida, down 3 in the 3rd. -Iowa is making it a game in the 'Shoe, down 7 in the 4th.
Interesting day. Let's hope Miami pulls out the victory and UNC is a little demoralized next weekend.
For the first time all year, the O-line shows up on the opening drive on the road. Montel really grinds out some yards to get to the goal-line and then a terrible pass from Shin. Uh oh.
ReplyDeleteShinskie has got to learn to stop forcing the ball in double coverage, especially in the redzone. Throw the ball away and live to see another day.
ReplyDeleteIt's brutal to move the ball at will and come away with zero points.
No worries, our defense has shown we can deliver punishing blows to the poor bastards on the chain crew.
ReplyDeleteI'm never the guy complaining about espn360 commentators, but today these guys are really awful.
ReplyDeleteUggh. F-ing Dave!
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, the defense is not good today.
ReplyDeleteThe front 4 for BC are getting manhandled.
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping we can have a 3 score lead at the half. This game looks like it could be brutal to watch
ReplyDeleteChicagofire,
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind, BC was only up 7-3 at half vs. Central Michigan.
And now Shinskie has the yips. This is going to be an ugly first half.
ReplyDeleteI guess the crucial word there was "hope". Eagleboston, you're right though about CMU, good point. At least that game opened up. This one just feels dead.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job by Davis to stick with the coverage there and make the great play on the ball in the air!
ReplyDeleteanyone have a link to the live game?
ReplyDeleteThat Matt Ryan ESPN commercial was the highlight of this game so far.
ReplyDeleteThese announcers are pretty bad. NC State is not a decent defense.
ReplyDeleteI'm reticent to keep running harris, given our back-up options, but that's what's working. Run it down their throats!
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ, Shinskie! Just run for it! Stop forcing these throws into multiple coverage! That should've been a second pick there. I am really not feeling good about this game.
ReplyDeleteAwful. Poor play and stupidty are on display today.
ReplyDeleteDid he fair catch that? If he did not, how is that a penalty?
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain to me why that was a personal foul? Was it helmet to helmet?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the logic of an empty backfield on 3rd and two when your running game is averaging 4 - 5 yards per carry?
ReplyDeleteWhy was Bowman's hit a penalty? There was no fair catch signal, was there?
Chicagofire, I totally agree. We really have a hot-hand offense. Our O-line isn't good enough to force balance down the defense's throat. Tranquill needs to realize what's working, especially on the 3rd and short plays, and rely on that.
ReplyDeleteNo fair catch. I have a feeling the refs didn't believe a hit could be that well-timed.
ReplyDeleteThese idiots can't think of anything to talk about? Morons. How does one get that job?
ReplyDeleteI hate these slow starts by the offense.
ReplyDeleteGreat job by the defense there. Now the offense has to recover that rhythm from the first drive.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Shinskie could get a double espresso during the commercial?
ReplyDeleteI thought they might resort to the Kiwanuka hit in '05, but I guess not.
ReplyDeleteBC dodges a bullet. Luke looked awesome on that series.
ReplyDeleteScoreboard watching: North Carolina is up on Miami 7-0. I really fear for next week's "home" game at a half-empty Alumni. UNC has been on a tear the past few weeks.
That was a nice third-down call there, especially against the blitz. An easy throw to McCluskey and a first down. Let's do it again!
ReplyDeleteenough with the "back-up chain" jokes. It wasn't funny the first time and certainly isn't the 10th time!
ReplyDeleteOh
ReplyDeleteMy
God
Colin, you have to catch that!
It's official. God wants us to lose this game.
ReplyDeletecan someone tell the announcers there is an 'r' in laRmond, its not la-mond
ReplyDeleteI AM TRYING!
ReplyDeleteNice throw by Dave and a nice grab by Rich. Shinskie looks a lot more comfortable on this drive.
ReplyDelete"Momma don't let your baby grow up to be on the chain gang."
ReplyDeleteMy God, this guy needs to be fired ASAP.
Wow, great catch by Gunnell. Shinskie is warming up.
is herzy not wearing yellow towel??? might be bad karma if he does not wear it..
ReplyDeleteI was nervous about the delays there, but a good job by the offense taking their time to get the play called. Nice throw by Dave. FOR BOSTON!
ReplyDeleteJJ gets the Eagles on the scoreboard!
ReplyDeleteDef warming up.
ReplyDeleteLOL Ron Prince
ReplyDeleteThe delay on gamecast is killing me.
ReplyDeletehaha, "BC trying to get the home crowd out of this game..." Do they really seem that into it??!! This ain't Blacksburg!
ReplyDeleteTranq is calling a very good game today, gang.
ReplyDeleteShinskie is gonna get Gunnell killed.
ReplyDeleteHarris is missing huge holes.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tranq has been calling a pretty good game. The those two third-and-short calls were poor, but the move to really challenge UVa downfield in the passing game was really smart. Hopefully the offense can start executing a little better here.
ReplyDeleteI am sick of these announcers...I need to turn on Meter
ReplyDeleteI love Meter but he is always 2 minutes behind the video feed.
ReplyDeleteWhen Meter is a better alternative, you're in a very bad place. Muting the audio is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteMan, I am sick of watching this defense. The line gets pushed back on nearly every run play.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, how do you not cover the flat receiver on 3rd and long?
ReplyDeleteThe camera work is excrutiatingly awful. At no time can you see what's going on in the defensive backfield.
ReplyDeleteRun DMC! When was the last time our D got a pick?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Montel on making it into quadruple digits rushing!
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Kuechely's pick against CMU, but when was the last time we had an interception against an ACC team?
God this is embarrassing. Just shoot them both.
ReplyDeleteUgly, ugly first half. BC will get slaughtered a la Clemson and Va Tech if they play like this next week.
ReplyDeleteAs it is, they will be lucky to get out of this game alive.
Ok so at the half who's been worse? The 2 teams on the field or the 2 announcers in the booth?
ReplyDeleteThat was worse than watching us get thrashed by Clemson and VaTech because this VA team is going nowhere, playing in front of a crowd that has already abandoned them. We should be rolling over them, instead we're playing the guys who have nothing to play for. Shades of the famous collapse against Syracuse four years ago (I think?).
ReplyDeleteMy first game watching on ESPN360. Every time they return from commercial, the picture goes black and I have to resize the window to return it. Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mess with the picture size it should return to full screen once the game restarts.
ReplyDeleteHoly god! The one thing this defense is supposed to be good at is preventing long pass plays! We're playing Virginia! /facepalm
ReplyDeleteLuke is good at life and backing the line.
ReplyDeleteGreat speek by Luke....awesome
ReplyDeleteJEEZ! Why are we always throwing on 3rd and short?!!
ReplyDeleteRun to the fricken first down marker!!! Man, that is my biggest pet peeve.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's coming back.
ReplyDeleteSo the halftime speech was, "Keep it up, fellas."
ReplyDelete"We're winning, aren't we?"
ReplyDeleteI think both teams are still stunned by what happened to the first string chains and chain ganger. No one seems all that into the game.
ReplyDeleteGreat, now these announcers are advocating flopping. Effing terrible.
ReplyDeleteWe got the "C" team for officials, no catch and a bad spot, WTF? And what's with the homer announcers? that was clear as day
ReplyDeleteI wonder if on obvious passing downs, they should take McLaughlin out and put in a faster linebacker? He's just not quick enough to go into pass coverage.
ReplyDeleteFinally, the truth! "We're just a couple of knuckleheads who found a couple of microphones."
ReplyDelete"we're just a couple of knuckleheads who found a microphone"....yeah you could say that again!
ReplyDeletehaha mod 10 you said it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not an Official, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last ngiht
ReplyDeleteGunnell fair catches everything. Would it hurt to return one of those punts?
ReplyDeleteToo many drops.
ReplyDeleteI love how these announcers don't even know football rules. Face-guarding is no longer a foul guys.
ReplyDelete'Skie gettin' hot at Jarvis for not running the right route. Are these guys on drugs today? WTF?
ReplyDeleteTranquil ... izer
ReplyDeleteThis is pathetic. Not a single positive play for the offense on this drive. The receivers let their QB down and then he made a couple bad throws before that sack. Ugh. Try some run plays.
ReplyDeleteGot bailed out there.
ReplyDeleteShinskie is way high on nearly every pass. Shouldn't the QB coach give him some pointers on mechanics?
ReplyDeleteNo way BC wins next week against UNC. No way.
This is the worst-played D1 football game I've ever seen! Thank God I'm going to the hockey game v. Vermont in 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteShit.
ReplyDeleteThis is like a completely different team on the road. Boggles the mind.
ACC football! It's great!
ReplyDeleteThis game is pathetic. We've been trying to give this game away all day and Shinskie finally succeeded. The play-calling and execution in the second-half have been awful. Blegh.
BC's defense must want to smack Shinskie for that.
ReplyDeleteThis feels like the 06 Miami game in ever way.
ReplyDeleteUn-flippin'-believable!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with BC and the road?
And Atl predicted a 17 point victory.
I'd be happy with "a" victory. This feels like the ND game where we played like dog squeeze in the 2nd half and gave it away.
ReplyDeleteMan up Dave.
ReplyDeleteShinskie is 1 for 7 in the second half for 1 yard with a pick-six. Time to change something, Tranq.
ReplyDeleteSo is BC offering any ticket packages to the Nut Bowl yet?
ReplyDeleteShinskie does not have it on the road. Put in Marscovetra. I'm serious. If you cannot score more than 7 points against this UVA team after 3 quarters, you need to mix things up.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, eagleboston. Shinskie is rattled and making poor decisions and poor throws. He looks uncomfortable in the pocket and refuses to take easy, underneath throws. Take him out, run it with Harris, and give Marsco some easy throws.
ReplyDeleteAbysmal.
ReplyDeleteUNC looks like a force to reckoned with, by the way.
And the trademark "here, take these yards" pass defense is back.
ReplyDeleteThis is pathetic. A complete lack of focus and execution by both the players and coaches. I am looking forward to UNC simply because it's at home.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's why you give Montel the football.
ReplyDeleteI guess these last 3 games don't really matter. Clemson is clearly on a mission and is not going to lose to this crappy Virginia team. If we can't get to the ACC CG, then a 6-5 BC team really does not get a better bowl opportunity than a 9-3 team. I know that seems crazy, but it's true.
ReplyDeleteWow, these announcers don't even realize that Haden isn't on the team anymore.
ReplyDeleteAnd good lord, don't throw the ball anymore.
ha haden hasn't seen much action today. good research
ReplyDeletejust. run. the. ball.
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
ReplyDeleteIf this stands as 4th down, they better effing go for it. Just have Dave lean forward.
ReplyDeleteBallsy. Nice lean Dave!
ReplyDeleteHow the F do you review this?
ReplyDeletethe ol' vinny testaverde special. god i hope this stands.
ReplyDeleteGimme that.
ReplyDeleteSpaz, impersonating Jags, going for it twice on 4th down!!
ReplyDeletethank god they went for it. we should be destroying this shitty team.
ReplyDelete"That's my boys up front!"
ReplyDeleteI love that our defense is incapable of defending curls and square-outs.
ReplyDeleteYet somehow our D gets a stop. I never know how they do it, but somehow they manage to get stops. I'll take it.
ReplyDeleteThey got that stop because UVA is playing like dog squeeze!
ReplyDeleteKuechley definitely interfered on that play, but, hey, we can always use a break on the road.
ReplyDeleteNow let's feed Montel the ball and run this thing out. The last thing we need is a Shinskie Pick 6
first down; come one, run this one out.
ReplyDeletegutless; but then again, I'd be screaming if Shinskie threw it and had another pick6
ReplyDeleteScoreboard watching:
ReplyDelete-Miami is down six at UNC early in the 4th.
This prevent stuff is gutwrenching
ReplyDeletePrevent defense is horrible. WTF? I hate Spaz.
ReplyDeleteIs that LUke Shit
ReplyDeletecan you challenge when you have no timeouts?
ReplyDeleteHow can you challenge with no TOs?
ReplyDeleteIn the NFL you can't In college I believe you can.
ReplyDeletetoo bad, suckers
ReplyDeleteUgly, ugly game.
ReplyDeleteBut I'll take the W.
Let's hope our boys get some rest this week before UNC.
we won, amazing!
ReplyDeleteShitty, but I'll take it.
ReplyDelete
