  3. National Championships are a big deal. I don't care if hockey is not a national sport. We should still be proud of the job of Coach York and his players, win or lose tonight.

The more I read about Coach D, the more excited I get for the basketball program. I'm hopeful that we will look back in 5 years and say that Gene made a tremendous hire.

This is a big deal, even though the L.A. Times, with two NHL teams in this "city", doesn't know that college hockey exists. Go Eagles!!

  8. Yes!!!!!!! 1-0 Eagles.

Why no in-game thread for hockey?

In all honesty I think WIS has been looking better, but I'll take it. Come on boys! BC lost the natl. champ my junior and senior year, and though we won it two years ago, I don't know if I could handle another loss in the champ game

  9. 3-0!!

That loss to Michigan State 2007 (where we clearly were the best team in the nation) still stings, so I am estatic with how this team is playing right now.

I agree, Wisconsin looked like a machine after their FF performance, but our forwards are just playing phenomenal this evening. So crisp. So aggressive. A lot of time left, but great hockey tonight.

  13. First of all...

    WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Whatever BC is paying Jerry York, it's not enough.

Congrats to the team, and let's get 'em again next year. Couldn't be happier.

  14. Great team. Great game. Great Win. Great National Championship. Greatest Coach in B.C. History. Why? Just watch how Jerry York recruits, coaches and runs the in-game strategy. York is the archetypal template of the great coach. No other sport at BC has been run with such poise, intelligence and class. Jerry should have a stadium named after him. He's our Rupp, our Wooden, our Lombardi.

Ask any NCAA Hockey coach whom they admire most and they'll say Coach York. It's an honor to have watched a legend do what this BC alum has done on and off the ice with these kids.

I'm so proud of tonight's performance by the speedy, gutsy Eagles, who played tough, physical hockey against a bigger Badger team and just cleaned their clocks. A 5-0 shutout! Here's to ya, ATL. You were right--the coach and the kids did all the right things on their way to the 'ship. All year these kids were just so fun to watch. Wish we could take BU out on the ice tomorrow night at Fenway and just rock their world like BC did to the Wisconsin Badgers, Miami
Ohio, Yale and Maine...and 25 plus other good NCAA hockey teams who got schooled by Jerry's jet fast Eagles.

This was a big BC moment to remember. Think I'll take a ride out to the beach in Ventura tonight, top down, with the Dropkick Murphy's "Shippin' Out to Boston" way loud...all the way.

    Go Eagles! Go National Champs!
    Football's comin'...oh yeah.

  15. Mmason couldnt agree more. Here's to building a new hockey stadium soon, and naming it York Rink at Snooks Kelly Arena, or some variation thereof. Without a doubt some statue should end up being built for York. Not only is the guy a machine, but I cannot think of any coach in ANY college sport that represents his university with the class, dignity, and success that York manages.

Congrats to the boys. Congrats to York. Couldn't be more delighted for the school or the team and staff! GO EAGLES! Football and bball take note!

  16. I know college hockey ranks low on the national radar but York and the program he has built is just flat out ridiculous and deserves much more praise than it gets. York has recently made a lot of comments about it being the fact that he is now able to get the best recruits and that's why they are successful, but in watching that game I saw an evenly matched 1st period, improved BC performance in the 2nd and straight up domination in the 3rd. That's all coaching.

    GO EAGLES!!!
