VT kickoff time and other links

The Virginia Tech game will kickoff at noon. It will be syndicated on the Raycom/ACC Network. Good news for the Parent's Weekend crowd. Now Parents can take kids to dinner Saturday night. Not great news for those BC fans outside of ACC markets who will either go to a sports bar, buy ESPN Gameplan or watch on ESPN3.com.

Although talk seems to focus on Duke and Florida, BC remains a player for basketball recruit Alex Murphy. Some of Murphy's teammates are also gaining attention.

John Loughery is considered one of the best QBs in the Philly area. He has interest in BC but doesn't have an offer.

Does Marc Colombo have one more comeback left in him?

  1. Can someone help me with a good spot to watch the VTech game in Atlanta? I'll be in ATL on business and DO NOT want to miss this game.

  3. It kind of depends on where you're staying, but there are a few good places. Taco Mac is my default option; there's one in Virginia Highlands and one in downtown Decatur. The one in the Highlands is better, but kind of small--it can be difficult to get a table at times. Decatur's is much bigger and thus has more seating and TVs.

If you're closer to downtown or the Georgia Dome area, Stats is all right as well. I believe that's where the local alumni club is doing game watches this year, but I haven't been out for one yet.

  4. Guess I will have to watch the ESPN 3 replay as my son has a game at the exact same time. The good news is I can get the radio feed on my WEEI app (I highly recommend this app).

I saw one of the top sophomore basketball recruits in the nation, Peter Jok, yesterday and he was wearing a Carolina shirt. I hope he is not following Harrison Barnes to our ACC rival. I keep telling him to consider Boston College.

Has anyone noticed that the only remaining undefeated ACC teams are BC and NC State?

  5. Gotta love ND still getting a vote in the AP poll. Brutal.

  6. Why does Notre Dame have every football game time already set except for the BC game? And does anybody know or have any clue what time the BC-ND will be at?

  7. While we didn't play this weekend, Kent State's game against Penn States provides some interesting statistical comparisons. Turns out Shinskie had a slightly better performance against the Kent St defense than did the PSU QB. Not bad.

The BC and PSU defenses were also roughly comparable against Kent State.

Still, like everyone else, I am nervous about VT. It will be our statement game one way or the other

  10. Just based on being Matty Ice's cousin John Loughery should already have an offer. Nevertheless the kid is the #1 QB in SE PA. Sign him up already.
