Virginia's top rusher (and his 1.4 TDs per game) is out for this game. Not something you want going against BC's #1 rush defense and when your QB has thrown 13 INTs. Hopefully our secondary is able to fully take advantage of this.
ReplyDeleteGO EAGLES!!!!
Stands very empty
ReplyDeleteMixed bag on the first drive. A couple nice throws and a few nice runs. Rettig showed nice rhythm on the two completions. However, poor pocket awareness on the sack. He stepped up into a pocket that was collapsing and right into the sack. Oh well. Did like the call to go deep even if the throw was poor.
ReplyDeleteHow do you give a 5-yard cushion and still backpedal on 3rd-and-2? Man, the soft zone is annoying.
ReplyDeleteis the game on espn3? where are yall watching it?
ReplyDeleteThe game is on ESPNU.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree BCNorcal. Why give a 10 yard cushion on a 3rd and 2? These players need to be aware of down and distance. Oh well, at least the bend-don't- break boys held UVA to a field goal.
ReplyDeleteDefense does not look good
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Trickery
ReplyDeleteFailed trickery too great
Gosh I don't like our coaches. 3rd and goal from the 12 and it's a draw? Way to play for the win you flipping bums.
ReplyDelete3- goal from 7, and they give to Harris. Stupid.
ReplyDeleteFrom 12. Even dumber
ReplyDeleteHow many 3 rd and 11's has BC converted on the ground this year. I guess they were afraid Rettig would toss an INT.
ReplyDeleteI would have gone right back to Momah. He was being blatantly interfered on the 2nd down play but the play was out of bounds so they did not call it.
ReplyDeleteSpaz/Tranqq waits out quarter, settles for field goal..
ReplyDeleteSpanq ALReADY playing it safe
The "vibe" is not good for BC today.
ReplyDeleteTerrible call against Herzy. He was blocked, in the back mind you, into the QB.
ReplyDeleteNot liking our D at all
ReplyDeleteWow, the defense is playing terribly so far. No push up front, slack coverage, unlucky penalties. They're not atrocious in any one zone, but bad in all of them. Don't know how you adjust off that.
ReplyDeleteThe D just got run over on that drive.
ReplyDeleteMcGovern better make some adjustments. You cannot let UVA to get too far out in front of our anemic offense.
ReplyDeleteuVA is going to be gambling and aggressive all day. They can still be bowl eligible.
ReplyDeleteIt will provide an interesting counterpart to the conservative Spanq
maybe UVA will start making some turn overs.
Very frustrating game to watch so far
Uuuuggggghhhhhh
BC is lifeless too. How is that possible on sr day?
ReplyDeleteCan't catch any breaks, can we?
ReplyDeleteI was just about to say nothing seems to be bouncing our way today, literally. I thought Rettig's sack should have been a facemask. Defender looked like he ripped of the helmet.
ReplyDeleteRettig needs to learn to recognize the blitz and throw it away. Might also make sense to throw in a screen play.
ReplyDeleteDefense is allowing way, way too many yards on 1st down.
Their O-line is just pushing around our D.
ReplyDeleteUVA's O-line is absolutely manhandling us
ReplyDeleteGreat job Spanq. Make them re-kick and lose 3 yards
ReplyDeleteHoly! Did that just happen?! I thought freshman couldn't throw the ball because freshman can't throw the ball.
ReplyDeletenice catch in traffic for the 2-star frosh!
ReplyDeleteKid can throw!
ReplyDeleteAmidon!! Usually tossing into double coverage is a disaster. Tranquil, it's time to put on the big boy pants on Rettig. Whenever you let him open it up good things happen.
ReplyDeleteWe r DUE
ReplyDeleteWow. I like London's spirit in going for it.
ReplyDeleteAnd again. That ball is drawn to the sideline..
ReplyDeleteShould have let the defender kept going and let the clock die.
ReplyDeleteSpaz Tranq AND McGovern must be fired.
ReplyDeleteOur D has yet to stop Verica. 3 drives of 78, 60, and 53. And 3 scores.
ReplyDeleteOur D can't stop UVA. Awful
Only time we stopped was when frosh was in for UVA
The BC defense gave up 15 first downs in the first half. 15!!!
ReplyDeleteShocker! They let Rettig throw from the endzone......on first down!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little nervous here. If UVA scores again, we may not catch them as our offense just can't put points on the board. I would really be livid if we lost our last home game on senior day with a bowl game on the line.
ReplyDeleteeB. It's is nerve racking and frustrating for sure today
ReplyDeleteDefense has been playing better since the break, but the offense has been pretty wretched this half.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't our guys seem to finish off tackles in the back field?!?
ReplyDeleteGreat drive by BC. Now that the defense is playing better, I'm breathing a little easier.
ReplyDeleteI don't have ESPNU, did Andre Williams break tackles for that long run?
ReplyDeleteGalvin. Not really . Just a big hole and he made a cut or two. Nothing fanct
ReplyDeleteAnyone see who got hurt on defense the last series?
ReplyDeleteHarris down in pain.
ReplyDeleteOmg
holy shit i hope it's not serious
ReplyDeleteI see Spanq has already gone into the prevent offense in the 3rd. And just what we need - an injury to Harris and he is holding his knee.
ReplyDeleteHow can you say it's prevent offense when we have been running the ball successfully? Just because we're not throwing doesn't mean we're going into prevent offense.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that our OL is starting to dominate. Not quite prevent o yet
ReplyDeleteLooks like he hyper-extended the knee. Hopefully, it is not serious.
ReplyDeleteAnnouncer: harris out for game
ReplyDeleteBut perplexingly the dis now soft again
ReplyDeleteHerzy will not be denied. Pick
ReplyDeleteThe MO of this coaching staff is to shut off the pass once they have a lead in the 3rd. I would like them to open it up a bit and let Rettig go for the kill. Then again, they have won 3 in a row so maybe I should not criticize this philosophy.
ReplyDeleteThere was Rettig going for the kill
ReplyDeleteWell, don't listen to me. The ground game may be boring, but it reduces turnovers and burns the clock. They opened it up as I requested and they got burnt. That's why I'm not a coach. Gotta hold them to a field goal here.
ReplyDeleteOur D line is just not closing today. Verica is shifty.
ReplyDelete4:48 drive to run out the clock anyone?
ReplyDeleteRunning to kill the clock is a sound philosophy only if you move the chains. The last few weeks we have been so predictable with it that we eat up little to no clock. Gotta mix in a few throws to keep em honest if you want to kill the clock effectively.

ReplyDeleteHarris switched his number to 2 last year to be a "1-2 punch" with Haden.
ReplyDeleteA quick scan of the roster and it looks like no one took #1 after Haden left. Maybe Williams should switch his #34 in the offseason...
Nail-biting time. Let's go D!!
ReplyDeletegod why is there always a nail biting time with us?? I swear I won't make it past 30
ReplyDeleteVictorym
ReplyDeleteBowl eligible
Whew!
ReplyDeletenice, i'll take it
