In-game comments post: Duke

Rock bottom or ready to rock? I guess we will find out which one BC football is shortly. Despite all the nonsense, I am still optimistic about today's game. Let's hope the team shows their true potential.

As always, leave your thoughts and comments below.

I will probably be on Twitter throughout the game.

  2. Interesting: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/6980644/pitt-syracuse-apply-join-acc-ranks-source-says

  3. Renfree is finding receivers/backs on the sidelines, they are getting 5-8 yards. Kuechly had a nice hit, despite the guy getting a first down.

  4. Spencer Rositano blocked a punt, pretty nice

  5. First drive so far: 1) Play Action to Andre Williams for 7 yards, 2) Run up middle by Kimble for no-gain, 3) Pass to Pantale over middle for about 10 yards or so. Not a bad start. Just overthrew Larmond in endzone

  6. Screen to Kimble for 31 yard TD!

  7. It's 12:45 and I find myself still at my tailgate. I'm surrounded by people from other tailgates who are all still fraternizing with their friends and family. The one thing that's missing right now is the BCPD. Could there be a change in philosophy from their gestapo-like tactics of the past 5+ years? Let's hope so. If the product on the field was better I'd be in inside the stadium right now. It's a good thing the BCPD have lightened up otherwise I might not have come at all.

  8. How about the big Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC talk? Can you say power basketball conference??? And we'd probably be getting two of the better football teams from the Big East. Now if we could pluck two solid teams from other conferences we'd be all set(if it actually does happen).

  9. Frees just made a 47 yard field goal.

    ReplyDelete
  10. rettig showing more poise in the pocket. you can tell they worked on having him take off and run when he doesn't have anything down field instead of just getting sacked all the time.

2 great plays this drive from chase -- the pass to anderson evading two rushers and then a great pass to larmond.

BC driving with less than 2 minutes, wow! tranquill would've been taking a knee!

  11. atta boy DRE GET IN THE ZONE!

yes, its duke. but the offense looks NICE!

    ReplyDelete
  12. i'm waiting for the BC Heights story to break: Nate Freese spotted with Ryan Ohliger.

what is up with this kid?

    ReplyDelete
  13. anyone watching the temple-penn st game. Temple would crush us, there are about 50K people at their game easy, and they are much louder than our crowd. Sad.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Just turned the game on. What's the first-half synopsis?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Surprise. Surprise. BC goes prevent right before the half and allows Duke to get a touchdown in about a minute. How many times the last 2 seasons has crap like this happened? Spaz and McGovern need to get a damn clue.

    ReplyDelete
  16. yea the prevent D in the 2 minute warning is just pathetic, especially when we generate absolutely nothing from our down lineman.

BC offense has looked good first half. rettig seems to be making quicker decisions and we have had some big plays. D is the D this year -- absolutely zero pressure on the QB and lots of short passes. we were up 19-7 (on 2 long FGs, a TD, and a missed extra point) with less than 2 minutes to play but duke drove down the field on our "swiss cheese prevent" and scored.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Duke has driven at will on the past 3 drives. They made great adjustments at halftime. We're just lucky that they are shooting themselves in the foot.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Glad to see we are preserving our traditionally shitty 3rd quarter play.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 4 straight drives where Duke gets past the BC 30. This D sucks. I know they are young, but man this is frustrating to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  20. did the commentators say we haven't score in the 3rd quarter yet this year?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Spaz Play to Lose Strategy:

up 19-7 with less than 2 minutes in the 1st half, you squib kick and then go Prevent. allow a TD with dubious strategy, lose all momentum going into halftime.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Blockparty - they did say that, not sure if it's true or not.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am glad we are losing, if we lose, hopefully more pressure to clean house. If we lose today, there is a chance we could lose every game including the UMASS game. We are that bad.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Scoreboard watching:

Future ACC foe Pitt was up 24-3 on Iowa and is now trailing 31-27!

Clemson crushing Auburn. It's gonna be brutal when we have to play them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Glad we are losing????" What the hell is wrong with you? A true BC fan should never, ever be glad that we are losing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. outscored 41-7 in 2nd half this season = other teams are making adjustments at half time and outcoaching us

    ReplyDelete
  27. outscored 41-7 this year in the second half.

not making second half adjustments, stop me if that sounds familiar.

    ReplyDelete
  28. why so we can have a 3 win season and be stuck with this coaching staff another 5 years. We need a horrible, horrible season to wake the administration up. Otherwise they are content. The big money supports Flip right now, that is a fact. Until something catastrophic happens, such as losing to Duke and having a 1 to 2 win season, nothing will change.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am pulling for us to win but I see where Harrow is coming from. A loss to Duke on our home field possibly leading to winless season would be too much to overlook. The sooner changes are made the better so we can start rebuilding.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Quite frankly this is a disgrace. Has our program fallen this far?

    ReplyDelete
  31. How many goddamn screen plays to the side can they allow?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Duke is getting 7 to 8 yards on every 1st down. Horrible!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Spaz is a nice guy, but he is not cut out to be our coach. He should be fired after this game. Duke is going to score again here no problem and is running the clock. Duke has put up almost 500 yds of offense on us.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Great another undisciplined penalty.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Quinn must have some mental deficiency. What a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  36. wow, put pressure on and you can stop them. maybe an idea for the future.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Can BC afford to fire Spaz? Didn't he just get a 4 year extension? After paying off Spaz, BC would have nothing left to pay a new coach.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Pick up the local pop warner coach and pay him 100 bucks for the season. He will be better than Spaz.

    ReplyDelete
  39. ha, great calls there brock. we will be a one win team this year at best.

    ReplyDelete
  40. How many passes has BC thrown on 3rd down 5 yards from the 1st down marker? I counted at least 4.

    ReplyDelete
  41. We look like total dog squeeze. Went to the UConn game last night, even that team looks like it would wipe the floor with us.

    ReplyDelete
  42. everyone on this site should send emails on monday morning demanding accountability. this is so funny its sad really. if we somehow pull this out, spaz will be running around like we won the NC.

    ReplyDelete
  43. on defense, on a 3rd and 9, our DBs line up 10 yards away.

on offense, on a 3rd and 9, we run a 5 yard out.

what is wrong with this picture?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Atl......there is no reason for you to watch this game a second time, don't stress yourself with any commentary or grading, we have hit new lows.

    ReplyDelete
  45. wow it only took 58 minutes for the BC "coaching staff" to figure out that we should bring some pressure. great adjustment spaz!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Keep in mind Duke lost to Richmond at home and was destroyed by Stanford.

    ReplyDelete
  47. why are we running with no timeouts????

    ReplyDelete
  48. Why the hell would we spike it there? There was plenty of time and that preserves time for Duke.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm not sure I want to count on a guy that missed an extra point.

    ReplyDelete
  50. they have tons of time to drive on us now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(its either laugh or cry at this point)

    ReplyDelete
  52. ha ha ha ha, we are so bad, ha.

    ReplyDelete
  53. spaz play not to lose strategy: run the ball and go for the field goal after your kicker has missed an extra point.

    well, we lost.

    fire spaz

    ReplyDelete
  54. I knew we needed a touchdown there. Too conservative Spaz.

    ReplyDelete
  55. its spaz-tastic!

    catch the golden eagle fever!

    ReplyDelete
  56. That spike was Spaz in a nutshell.

    ReplyDelete
  57. El Miz No way your boy Genie fires Spaz. He needs continuity.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sound about right.

    ReplyDelete
  59. WTF

    Spike the ball

    Lose the game

    Lose your jobs

    Have a nice life spaz

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ted,

Gene is far from my boy but the "gene is paying KR to stay quiet about his firing" was illogical and stupid.

pathetic loss from a pathetic team.

    ReplyDelete
  61. any seats left on the 'fire spaz' bus? cause i want on.

    ReplyDelete
  62. You might as well hope for a winless season at this point. There's no coming back from this. I wonder what the excuse from Spaz will be this time.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Revised worst case scenario: 1-11 (IF we can beat UMass)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm just sad that we have fallen this quickly. Thanks a lot coaches. We could have scored a touchdown at the end, instead settling for a guy who has already proven that he does not have what it takes.

    ReplyDelete
  65. that loss encapsulates everything that is wrong with this coaching staff. i fully expect spaz to blame this one on his players.

spaz plays not to lose to end the first half after scoring to go up 19-7. squib kick > prevent D > duke TD = all BC momentum lost before half time.

an embarassing second half due to a complete lack of adjustment from our coaching staff. BC with a chance to win, gets to inside the 20 with over a minute to go, and rather than take a chance at the end zone we decide to run and spike the ball to kick a FG. not only that, but instead of running the ball up to the right we run to the left so that the kick is from the hash mark.

this is after we had already missed an extra point.

truly pathetic and embarassing. spaz and his crew of coaches need to be shown the exit.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Who cares about what actually happened to Rogers.

Tonight I pray the GDF and Spaz have to leave for "health reasons"

    ReplyDelete
  67. As much as I am not a huge Bravesbill fan, he is 100% right. Winless or 1 win season only way we get rid of Spaz. But I bet we get some knucklehead on staff already. You have to clean house totally, no excuses.
