A battle for the basement! Reports are that the rain is coming down hard. Let's hope it clears up by game time. I don't know if the rain helps us, but still like our chances. And even with all the nonsense that has gone on, I desperately want us to run the table and get to a bowl game. Regardless of how you feel about Spaz, you'd have to admit that would be a more fun way to end the season than how it is likely to play out.

I could never root against BC, but are we better off burning the village to save it?
ReplyDeleteWould a win or two give legs to the " Spaz is going through growing pains" BS ?
Recruiting is dead...this is a sinking ship, and 1 or 2 wins aren't changing that!
We looked like BC on that drive. I like Finch - the guy plays hard and I'm glad he's getting his chance.
ReplyDeleteHe was the best HS player in his state. Was it KY?
You always want BC to win. Always.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, ESPN3 is not working "due to weather-related issues." Is there a blizzard going on? I've seen football games in the snow on TV before so I know they have the technology to do it.
ESPN3 not working in this area due to blackout. Why that is, I'm befuddled.
ReplyDeleteI agree with EB. You always root for a BC win.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching the game on some no-name station.
ReplyDeleteMD just got a FG.
Lousy rainy snowy weather day. 2,500 in attendance :-)
Good INT.
ReplyDeleteAmidon is fast.
Great TD.
Squib kick is stupid.
ReplyDeleteThis is a promising quarter.
ReplyDeleteLet's see if they call a timeout out of this timeout.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the line. They are hitting people today, Why didn't they do that the past 6 games?
ReplyDeleteGreat drive.
ReplyDeleteGo BC.
Make the weather your friend.
When's the last time we scored 21 on an FBS opponent?
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's great not having a QB controversy.
ReplyDeleteOut here in L.A., we have the game on NESNHD so it's all good. It's good to watch the Eagles be successful, but I'm not going to get too giddy about this beyond what it is...they're 2-5, we're 1-6...when the snow melts and the fog clears we'll both be 2-6 if the Eagles win. It's a relief to see us execute with the ball and play effective defense...but it's also a kind of reprieve.
ReplyDeleteThis is the same Terp team that beat Miami?
ReplyDeleteESPN3 is junk. After the last touchdown, they went to a commercial break and the feed has not come back.
ReplyDeleteIs BC still doing great (it conked out at 21-3)?
We punted - MD's ball on their 17
ReplyDeleteKeuckly INT!!!!!bgcbk
Finch made a good run but the ball came out.
ReplyDeleteMD ball on the 3. They just picked up 13 yards.
Oops - 23 more.
Snowing good now. BC ball on our own 10 or 11.
ReplyDeleteAre we trying to let one loose before halftime... Who is that mustachioed man in the hood and what has he done with the Spaz?
ReplyDeleteAdidaspete, you're so right! Shocking for Spaz' doppleganger to go for a TD with 4 sec's left on the clock! Not so to have Rettig throw it to their guy, however. Some things nevah change...
ReplyDeleteMmason, when you are 1-6, you can throw caution to the wind.
ReplyDeleteND crushing Navy. I had heard some rumblings that the players were mad at Kelly after the USC game, but he seems to have control of the team.
Not sure Luke should be on kick-off coverage. I would hate to see a Momah injury on our best player.
ReplyDeleteOh My - a Vanderbilt play.
ReplyDeleteGood D on first and goal.
ReplyDeleteDuggan is pretty good.
MD FG no good.
Yeah, the one upside to this season is we have played a lot of freshmen and sophomores. This experience should pay off in two years.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I want Spaz gone. You have a 3rd and 1, you are 1-6, you have nothing to lose and all of your O-linemen want you to go for it. Instead, you punt, netting only about 20 yards. I guarantee you, the BC offense could have picked up that first down if given the chance.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Spaz won't be gone, but this is why BC has gone from contender to loser in 3 years.
One more quarter and Boston College will be Under Armour Bowl Champs.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this is a good win. If we can beat NC State then things will be moving the right direction. Still a long way to go to get back to where they should be.
Clearly MD cannot stop the run, but is it wise to rush Finch 40+ times? This is how Montel broke down. Surely Andre Williams can finish it off.
ReplyDeleteHow about we don't try any more field goals on 4th and short or fourth and long or fourth and anything
ReplyDeleteAh, there's the old Spaz we know and love--going for the FG in a Simpson remake of Mission Impossible and we could get the 1st down on 4th and 1...It's going to always come down to
ReplyDeletehuevos or none...1-6, EagleB, and the caution to the wind has flown...
Maybe Spaz is thinking going for it on fourth down is unsportsmanlike considering the score and time left in the game. Yeah, I said Spaz "is thinking."
ReplyDeleteSuper Mario Mustache strikes again. Let's keep trying the same thing but hope for a different result. Rather than try to convert on a 4th and short, he trots out Freese for a 37 yard field goal, despite the fact that Freese already missed from this distance and the conditions are horrible for kicking.
ReplyDeleteFurther, in Spaz's 3 years, has he ever attempted a fake field goal? Even TOB took a shot at times. This guy is a complete loser as a head coach. No attack or aggressiveness in him.
The play calling has been much better w Brock. Pulling the O-line has been successful the last 3 weeks. Amadion is fast
ReplyDeleteI remember losing a game to Pitt once long ago under somewhat the same circumstances because we didn't play aggressive kickass football--so glad to see we came right back and stuck a TD on the Terps. This is a big deal for the O-Line guys after the last two FG attempts. Go Eagles! Go Duece!
ReplyDeleteThe good news is the players took control of this game and, aided by Maryland mistakes, responded by scoring their own TD.
ReplyDeleteFinch is just 30 yards shy of the BC rushing record. Do you take him out and let Williams do mop-up, or do you let him go for the record and risk injury?
By the way, my word verification is "liket." Yes, I do "like it" when BC dominates.
The term Nose for the Ball fits L. Keuchly to a T.
ReplyDeleteHe stuffed the 3rd down run there on his own
Spaz made yet another ass of himself in the post game interview. The sideline reporter mentioned that Finch was way back on the depth chart at the start of the season. "You saw why....the 2 fumbles." The player just had one of the best rushing performances in BC history and rather than applaud the kid and his O-line, you focus on the negative.
ReplyDeleteOh well, great win for the Eagles. Let's hope they keep improving and get a win as I journey to Alumni for Thursday night's game.
Sadly, BC won. Now, there will be a call to keep Spaziani. Maryland looked pathetic. Edsell looked like a playground instructor. BC didn't look bad and that is too bad. In regard to the ND revolt, there was word on NBC that a number of seniors who were not recruited by Kelly instigated a revolt. NBC stated that it appears to have been solved.
ReplyDeleteI remain hopeful that Spaz will admit that he is over his head and resign at the end of this disastrous season.

ReplyDeleteThe post game interview Spaz had with the sideline reporter was a disgrace. He ragged on Finch in Boston Globe a few weeks ago saying that his new nickname was UNO. The players call him Coach Spaz for a reason.
