In-game comments post: Miami

This will be our last taste of BC football until the Spring Game, so let's enjoy it. Is it the final game for Kuechly? Or Spaz? We won't know for a at least a few days. But both questions add a bit of intrigue to the game. Leave your comments and thoughts below.

  1. What a gut wrenching season!

  2. Spaz: "What kind of crazy play was THAT?!"

  3. JBQ: At least it has united all of us in the BC blogosphere.

  4. Can't believe we can't convert and score to answer Miami's big TD. More "up the middle" crash and a cloud of lost from the echoes of Tranquil ground game. Some things never change. Conservative, sluggish and unimaginative. We should bash these guys and mix it up. Throw on 2nd, screens and Swigert deep.

  5. Well, I can't criticize Spaz for going for it there. I can blast him for his horrible record inside the redzone this season.

  6. can't criticize for going for it, but the play call was terrible. ATL's been saying it all week: D's know bordner is a runner.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Is he though? Is he a "runner"? He sucks.

  8. Rettig throws a terrible ball and has a "happy feet panic mode" that just telegraphs fear & confusion...We truly never knew how lucky we were to have Chris Crane--even Shinskie was better than this...

  9. no timeout obviously. Fuck you Spaz.

    ReplyDelete
  10. why no timeout here???????? spaz is f-ing awful

  11. Dave S is not better than our current QB!

  12. Frustrating half. We completely dominated and yet go into the locker room down 4. One gets the feeling if Miami scores again, we may not be able to catch-up.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mmason, I suppose sayingRettig has 'happy feet' might feel hip and/or kewl to say, but you are wrong. Rettig is having a very good half. Don't believe every catch phrase u read on blogs

  14. Total coward for not calling timeout!!!!! A pee wee coach would know to call timeout there

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm going to echo mod's comments. Rettig is looking good today. His unease with the collapsing pocket is the product of o-line this season.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I believe Rettig is 8-10 for 100 yards. Also, they had 12 first downs, which demonstrates they are sustaining drives. They had the ball 21 minutes to 9. This is perhaps the best offensive display for BC this season. Which is why ii is so frustrating that they don't have more points to show for it.

  17. How many TD passes did Shinskie throw his first year? 15 tds, with an efficiency rating of 118. Rettig, this year, has 11 td passes, and a 106 efficiency rate. I'm just sayin'... Rettig has not exactly done the job we all hoped for, and he does throw a lousy deep ball, panics and can't seem to make it happen in the red zone. Before we dis Uncle Dave, the numbers indicate he did "less badly" than one might assume. Yes, his O line was better than this one, and he did not inspire greatness--but he won more games and threw more TD's...so...? Just an end of season after-thought.

  18. Welcome to college football Chase. Is he finally coming into his own and is this a harbinger for a big junior year?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Keep in mind, he is only a sophomore. Since he started so young, it seems like he has been here forever, but Ryan did not even start all of his games sophomore year. No way am I equating Rettig with Ryan, but I do think Rettig has potential.

  20. Oh, and mod--I don't "read blogs" or get caught up in the trifles that you throw down every week, either... but the Rettig record is a public one--and I've seen 40 years of good QB's and not so,--Chase is "not so." See, he doesn't set his feet well because he's fearful of disaster--and getting ready to run in any direction if threatened. Check him out--check the completion rates, too. He throws inaccurately because he's not set. Chase's Passes go in the dirt, overhead and outta reach, wide left and right. How does that happen, O Sage One? How long does he get the rookie dispensation?
Right now, our running game is what's moving BC. Not the QB.

  21. Spaz with his crappy game management again. Blows a timeout that may be critical in such a close game.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Shinskie also a much better o-line protecting him. And Gunnell to throw to.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Mmason, we are just talking about today

/mason back pedals away by focusing on something other than today.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mmason think positive! Retting is improving.. Maybe you can communicate that growth in your usual hipster doofus voice. :-). And don't take this too seriously, I do enjoy many of your posts!

  25. Yes, bring in Bordner, you innovator you.

    FUCK YOU SPAZ.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Spaz is a moron! Border sucks!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I can't stand Spaz! You have all of the momentum and then you bring in a qb who they know is going to run the ball and he fumbles. Plus, they burned a valuable timeout. Spaz, you suck!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bordner? Other than Spaz is a poor couch, how do you take out Retig?

You have to burn a timeout, I.e., unprepared. Looking dumb.

Then you get a fumble. How can you face the players with such idiocy?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Please please please fire Spaz!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. earth to spaz: the U knows bordner's gonna run. so does everyone else.

1st and Goal at MIA 2:
Josh Bordner rush for no gain, fumbled at the MiaFl 2.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 98 td td drive right here. Spasm should be fired now for this bordner shite.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think it was a Brock call, not a Spaz call. Still bogus

    ReplyDelete
  33. Mod,

Spaz needs to exert some leadership and overrule such a horrible decision. The Bordner play worked the first couple of games, but the defenses have seen the film. They know he is only going to run, thus you cannot keep the defense off balance. That moronic decision may cost BC their first chance to beat Miami in 27 years!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Kuechly: play of the year. Wonderful

    ReplyDelete
  35. lets see how spaz blows this one

    ReplyDelete
  36. Goddamn....30 yd stiff arm.

He's gone after this season...I'd do the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Spaz better give Luke some extra turkey as he may have saved his job with that INT.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Spaz needs to convince Luke to come back for his job to be saved.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Correction from an earlier post. We beat Miami in 2007, but if we hold on to win, it will be the first victory over the Hurricanes in Miami since Flutie to Phelan.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Is Miami running out the clock?

    ReplyDelete
  41. How many times has BC failed to pick up one fricken yard this season?

    ReplyDelete
  42. We are trying to blow this game with fumbles.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Another 1 yard pick up they failed to execute.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Great win. Congrats guys. I hope that is the end of the Spaz era.
