Hockey gets top seed and other links

BC earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Hockey Tournament. BC will face Air Force this weekend in the opening round. ESPN put up a good preview of the Tournament here.

Clemson swept the baseball team this weekend.

The baseball team wasn't the only BC squad that had a rough weekend. The softball team lost three straight to Georgia Tech.

Profootball Weekly posted a feature on Luke Kuechly.

  1. I thought there would be a mention for sure about how Brady Heslip ripped it up over the weekend. He looked very good. Making me question a little why his "services weren't needed" when Donahue came in...

  2. Heslip is averaging 23 points a game in the tourney, but Donohue didn't need him. HAS ANYONE EVER GOTTEN MORE PRAISE FOR PRODUCING LESS THAN dONOHUE?

  3. I was at the games Thursday and Saturday. The kid plays the entire game and was lights out each game. He does exude a weird kind of presence on the court, just kind of ambling about until a screen gets set and then popping it. That style coudl have been misperceived as arrogant or too nonchalant, I don't know. I heard the Baylor coach this morning on the radio mention that when Brady arrived at Baylor he was 25 pounds overweight, so that might have added to assumptions about his work ethic. But he was ubelievable in Albuquerque. And very inloved with the coach and play calling. He was a leader on the court - as a first year! He would have been a PERFECT fit for Donahue's system and it is hard to understand how that could have been missed.

  4. Ned, stop screaming for a minute and think about what you rant about. You have no idea, none at all about why Heslip left. All you have is rumor from lots of folks like you that confuse your opinions with facts.

  5. The stuff about it not being a good fit came straight from interviews with Heslip himself if i am not mistaken.

  6. Mixed, adn a bit mysyteroius depending on what you read. The Albuquerue papers quoted Heslip as saying Donahue didn't see him fitting in "for whatever reason..." and implyien he was forced otu. Others report it differently. Donahue seems to doing the professional thing and keeping mum, which is as it should be. Of course there was the Dad thing at the time which raised eyebrows. Bottom line -- who knows? Nobody (other than some of us on this site) seems to be too upset about it, or holding onto ill will. I'll reiterate, having just watched him go off - if you see him in person, on the court, he looks very unimpressive. Until he shoots.
