No team takes themselves more seriously than Notre Dame. If the Irish can allow their uniform to be altered like this for one game, why can't BC? Take a look at what Notre Dame will wear as a special look this fall.
I know we have the white stripe look, but I want to take it a step further. Let's do the wings helmet. The time has come!
Ugh - that's hideous! Would not want to see BC do anything like that. If they're looking to do something unique, I would have the team enter the stadium in hooded Jesuit frocks - that would be badass!

Gold on maroon at home.

ReplyDeleteNotre Dame started the throwback/alternate uniform trend when they wore the green uniforms for important games- against Boston College a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteThe alternate helmet for Notre Dame is no surprise. This helment is strange though. It would have been better if it was their traditional gold one one side and the NEW gold they used last year on the other side.
The fact that Under Armour has not "forced" BC to use an alternate uniform is more of an indication,unfortunately, of our irrelevance nationally than anything else.
The Virginia Tech alternate logo is comical. Looks like a peace sign made out of Hokie phalanges.
The modern ND concept has always flirted with a thug image to placate the inner city recruiting. Compare this to the "Era of Ara" and Huarte to Snow.
ReplyDeleteI think most of these alternate uniform things recently have been hideous, and this ND helmet is consistent with that. Remember the Maryland unis last year? Holy Schnikies.

ReplyDeleteThey already killed our logo (I hope I'm not alone in thinking that the Classic "BC" was better than the Angry Chicken), please don't let them ruin our uniforms, too.
ReplyDeleteAngry chicken was always intended to be a secondary logo, and one used mostly for children's apparel. No idea how it gained so much prominence around the program.
