Despite all the potential for a trap game, I am not worried about our matchup with Army. Let's hope it is a nice solid victory. If the game doesn't go our way, readers venting their frustration in this post should be entertaining. Leave your thoughts and comments below.

Here are my thoughts on our game and a couple others.
ReplyDeletehttp://saturdayblitz.com/2012/10/06/thoughts-three-predictions-florida-texas-boston-college/
What is the BC crowd like at the game?
ReplyDeleteClassic white on white.
ReplyDeleteNot a great first series.
ReplyDeleteWell that was dumb
ReplyDeleteIt'd be nice to see Noel have a good game. Hasn't really been effective yet this season.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we playing bend don't break against a run team?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that Spaziani and McGovern had the team ready.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't score on this drive, I'll be surprised.
ReplyDeleteDudeck getting it done.
ReplyDeleteHow is Army pressuring Rettig?
ReplyDeleteRettig trying to force it because it was free play???
ReplyDeleteBJK,
ReplyDeleteon the sack, we got in our own way. Williams pushed the guard away.
Georgia Tech is going to kill us with this O.
ReplyDeleteOur defense is emotionless.
ReplyDeleteTWO fumbles by Army and neither recovered.
I really hate our defensive "strategy". And the lack of execution.
ReplyDeleteOur defense can't stop army.
ReplyDeletePathetic.
Just crazy that the defense sucks this bad
There was a blatant hold on that run. I'm not saying Army wasn't going to score, or that our D was going to stop them, but a hold there nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteAtl, you're right. GaTech running the option will be like a hot knife through butter. To be fair to butter, our defense will probably give more easily.
When I go to Atlanta in a couple of weeks, I am considering not wearing my school colors - just regular clothes.
ReplyDeleteHow pathetic is that?
This is the worst BC defense since the mid-90's.
ReplyDeleteHorrible!
Rettig is not very accurate today
ReplyDeleteHow many points do you think Stony Brook would put up against this D?
ReplyDeleteBJK,
ReplyDeleteI'd still wear the colors. Solidarity is even more important in trying times.
Eagleboston,
ReplyDeleteI agree. Looks all out of sorts today.
Where's Spiffy? Not that I really care if he's playing or not, just interesting that he's not our return man. *scratches chin*
ReplyDeletePS: I know this has been addressed before, but why are the "I'm not a robot" characters so goddamn hard? I'm on attempt #3. I think I got this one though....
Of course you are right, Ben, but I am just expressing my total frustration and embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, kudos to Army.
As an Army veteran, I am proud of them and their traditions.
Go BC - wake up, for crying out loud.
Hey are the weird colors of the computer generated first down, line of scrimmage, and seemingly arbitrary "every 20 yard" line giving anyone else fits?
ReplyDeleteWhat has happened to Noel this year?
ReplyDeleteDarn lucky on that play.
ReplyDeleteBJK... the Spaz funk is contagious.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! That makes me feel better.
ReplyDeleteWilliams doing his best to break the Spaz funk.
ReplyDeleteThat's got to be a school record for longest TD run.
ReplyDeleteAn SEC defender would have run him down.
What was our longest TD run in history? Troy Stradford 95 yards against Maryland in the mid-80"s?
ReplyDeleteThat will help our rushing stats. :-)
OK. Lets go now.
ReplyDeleteRettig just comes out and throws a TD to Amidon. Make it happen
ReplyDeleteAbsolute gift but good play by Edibali.
ReplyDeleteGod, Amidon is good.
ReplyDeleteBig,
ReplyDeleteArmy had two fumbles earlier that BC had and lost. It is evening out.
Nice timeout! Love how Spaz acts mad after his ridiculous timeout calls.
ReplyDeleteYeaaaah.
ReplyDeleteJesus that play seemingly works every time. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI knew that Amidon would be good as he matured, but this is tremendous.
ReplyDeleteI thought originally that as teams concentrated on Larmond, Swigert and Pantale, etc., Amidon would sneak some long ones.
That he is our primary threat and go-to guy is a great story.
Alex is hard-working, smart - and very fast! He is a great story for Boston College and a credit to his school and family.
anyone know what radio station this is on in boston? checked 680, 850, and 98.5...no dice.
ReplyDeleteMost triple option teams really struggle coming from behind. Also, I think Rettig and company will at least score 2 more TD's.
ReplyDeleteI take back my comment about an SEC defender running down Williams. He ran an 11.88 100 with pads!
Ry, it's on WEEI.
ReplyDeleteOur O-Line is having big trouble with guys 100 pounds lighter.
ReplyDeleteIs Bollman as bad as Devine?
Look at Army with the hurry up. Weird that we don't have that in our gameplan. We're up aren't we?
ReplyDeleteWilliam set an ACCrecord
ReplyDeleteOld record
ACC all-time record. Longest run
98 yards Steve Adkins Maryland v Clemson, Nov 18, 1978
So THIS is why Spaz saves his timeouts... in case the other team out aggressives us and goes for the field goal at the end of the half....
ReplyDeleteStupid giving up FG
ReplyDeleteI........Despise.........Spaz.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try to find out how many spaz teams have given up scores right before the half.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to do an analysis of how many games a Spaz-coached team has given up a score right before half. I'm guessing it is at least 8.
ReplyDeleteI guess that someone will be ATL. The current guess is 8. Any others?
ReplyDeleteRettig sacked 4 times in the 1st half.
Out of what, 43 coached games? I'm going to go with 18.
ReplyDeleteThis defense really pisses me off
ReplyDeleteI.......Hate........Spaz!
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't have to be struggling against ARMY. Ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteAllowing 6.2 yards per rush against winless ARmy.
ReplyDeleteMcGovern needs to be relieved of his duties, if not fired now.
ReplyDeleteIf we lose this game, Spaziani needs to be fired before arriving back in Boston.
Do it by phone, Fr. Leahy.
I can understand why Spaz's defenses would have trouble against the triple option. He was only on the staff at Navy and played the military academies with regularity at UVA and BC. Has faced Georgia Tech in conference and played Navy in a Bowl. This is practically brand new to him. He just needs more time.
ReplyDeleteATL,
ReplyDeleteYou have me laughing. I'm depressed about our D, but you got me laughing.
Army is an 0-4 team
ReplyDeleteLosing to Stony Brrok, Wake, North 'll, and SD St.
And today, so far, a better football team than BC
Nonetheless I feel momentum swinginging our way Rey soon
*way
ReplyDelete20 yard punt, fuq you Spaz
ReplyDeleteI don't like punting there. Even if we pinned them. This looks like it will be a shoot out. Need points on every drive.
ReplyDeleteNet 20 yards on punt. dumb
ReplyDeletePoor special teams play.
Blah blah blah
Terrible defense, but good hustle by Edebali to save the TD.
ReplyDeleteJim Noel injured...the BC defense is hoping he can't return.
ReplyDeleteThis team is post gambling scandal bad. They are just awful and I don't understand why most people thought we would crush Army, we have zero talent and always have trouble with the option. We will win zero ACC games.
ReplyDeleteWe should just run out the 3rd quarter....free timeout!!
ReplyDeleteIf Army is getting to Chase like this I can only imagine what FSU will do.
ReplyDeleteFSU could also put 70 pts on us if they really wanted too.
ReplyDeleteChase Rettig is starting to look like...ehh...Chase Rettig.
ReplyDeleteWow. There isn't much to say.
ReplyDeleteThis is a worst case scenario at this point.
Boston College must wait and hope for Army to beat itself.
Peanut,
ReplyDeleteRettig's been sacked five times today. I would say the o-line is looking like the o-line. I would pissed if I were Rettig.
Al Golden can't arrive soon enough.
ReplyDeleteWe will give up over 500 yards Army, if not 600 yards
ReplyDeleteThey have 423 now. With a quarter to go
I am embarrassed for them
Ben, I'd be pissed too if I was playing like this. I see your point, but his passes/reads the last 2 quarters are looking like the old Rettig. Hopefully he turns it around in the 4th.
ReplyDeleteI'm not looking forward to GaTech.
ReplyDeleteHere is why this coaching staff needs to be eliminated - in the past 2 games, the BC offense has scored a ton of points in the first half, but struggled mightily in the 2nd. The other teams have made adjustments against the BC offense, but Spaz and Company have failed to do so.
ReplyDeleteArmy has 3 players with over 100 yds rushing.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to hear inexperience against the option. How much experience did Stony Brook, Wake, and Northern IL have?
ReplyDeleteArmy wants the game. BC does not.
ReplyDeleteThe announcer just mentioned BC's "inexperience" - (in Spaziani's 4th year.)
Shall we discuss the absence of second half adjustments?
ReplyDeleteLet's see if we have any guts at all from this point forward.
ReplyDeleteArmy has 400 yds of rushing, lol
ReplyDeleteMcGovern hasn't made a 2nd half adjustment all year, as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteJack
ReplyDeleteMcGovern hasn't made a 2nd half adjustment all CAREER as far as I know.
McGovern needs to be fired as I mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteDo Army guys tire?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I didn't think so either
touche Mod, touche.
ReplyDeleteIs it bad to hope for a loss and mid-season firing? Yeah...right? Hm....right?
This is pathetic. If Army wins, I'm not going to be able to show my face for weeks.
ReplyDeleteAmidon-don, Amidon-don, baby!
ReplyDeleteNow back to our D and the aristry of Mr. McGovern.
ReplyDeleteNot
Now McGovern's D will save the game.
ReplyDeleteGreat play to put us ahead.
Maybe would should have considered a funny kickoff with that 15 yard advantage - but no go. A squibbly ground ball, maybe force a fumble.
As of right now, BC's opponents have had 251 one offensive plays in the last 3 games. Truly, truly pathetic.
ReplyDeletethe way Rositano slumped was not good. He looked like he got knocked out.
ReplyDeleteHow tired is our defense?
ReplyDeleteYup. Real tired.
Rositano is concussed. Worst thing about this sport and what will lead to its downfall as soon as the lawyers flood in with lawsuits.
ReplyDeleteDid you hear what Spaz told the announcers regarding Asprilla. I think he thinks he's being charming when he throws the players under the bus.
ReplyDeleteSpaz= Dick
ReplyDeleteEven if BC wins, Army totally outplayed us. They should be up by 10 or more right now. We are one of the worst teams in FBS.
ReplyDeleteLet them score.
ReplyDeleteThey will score with no time left.
ReplyDeleteradio announcers saying boo is the new AD
ReplyDeleteAt least Spaz is using all his timeouts here. He did something right this game.
ReplyDeleteWay to let 5 seconds tick off the clock before taking the last timeout Spaz. You deadbeat.
ReplyDeleteAs Montel Harris breaks off a 35 yard TD run to seal it for Temple. Over 100 yards on the day. Good for him. But please, someone kill me if we lose this game.
ReplyDeleteGood stop for the Defense. Sylvia is a mess and makes plenty of mistakes, but he's tough.
ReplyDeleteMcGovern is one lucky guy.
ReplyDeleteGame not over yet.
What did Meter say on air regarding Corrigan? I am watching the TV broadcast.
ReplyDeleteWatch Army get the ball back and score with no time left. Playing to lose again with this offensive series.
ReplyDeleteTaking the ball out of Rettigs hands?
ReplyDeleteEven the announcers are calling spaz a pussy.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand taking the delay penalty there at all. You take 1 more second off the clock and give up 4 more yards. Ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteWe deserve to lose this game. Do you believe the play calling, penalty and lousy punt?
ReplyDeleteSpaz is more incompetent than the umpire who screwed the Braves yesterday. WTF is he doing?! Fuck you Spaz. Fuck you.
ReplyDeleteYES!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a classic shit bag game from Spaz
ReplyDeleteNot a surprise with how many snaps out D has been on the field...
ReplyDeleteStill. Freaking. Speechless.
Good bye Spaziani.
ReplyDeleteIt cannot happen fast enough.
Congratulations Army.
Your first job, Corrigan is to fire Spaziani. He is a disgrace.
Meter was just saying to expect a big announcement Tursday. He highlighted Corrigan's work at Duke and ND as well as his father's connection with the ACC.
ReplyDeleteI..........Loathe..........Spaz!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Loathe" isn't a strong enough word. This is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteI hope this cause Spaz and McGovern to be fired Monday morning
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Army.
ReplyDeleteSpaziani needs to be relieved of his job before he gets back to Boston.
The 2 year extension granted by GDF needs to be investigated as a crime against Boston College. Our lawyers should contest it, and BC should not give this guy a dime.
I'm serious. It is blatant fraud, and Napoleon is probably getting a kickback.
The only good thing to come of this debacle is that it just about guarantees Spaz will be gone.
ReplyDeleteFor the love of God is there not a backup goalie on the soccer team who can punt.
ReplyDeleteBut thinking why would he want to play for Spaz instead of Kelly on a winning team
BC did get on the front page of foxnews.com for good reasons.
