In-game comments post: Virginia Tech

Senior Day. I've seen plenty of Senior Days when nothing was on the line and the team played really well. Could it happen today? I am not confident but we can always hope. Leave your comments and thoughts on the game below.

  2. Great play design to Amidon on the TD.

  3. Great sell by deuce

    ReplyDelete
  4. Finch now with 63 yards on just 7 carries. why has he not been used for the last 2 months? oh thats right because we have a completely incompetent head coach named frank spaziani.

agree on the play design -- having amidon in a 3 back set and then racing him out to the flat was hard to defend. nice job martin!

  5. Larmond. What an absolute disappointment.

    ReplyDelete
  6. nice job by the defense to get the ball back after the INT

    ReplyDelete
  7. Chase's stats are not going to reflect the plays our WRs should have made today.

    ReplyDelete
  8. On TV it looks like the stadium filled in. Any guesses on attendance?

    ReplyDelete
  9. This drive is critical. It is usually at this point when Spaz teams lose focus.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Clancy is playing really well today.

    ReplyDelete
  11. ATL,

My brother is at Alumni and he estimates 24 k.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Forget about speed. Spiffy is the bravest punt returner we've had in years.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow surprised Spaz did not take a knee with only 3:38 left in the half.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Three runs to Finch...that was a terrible series right there.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well, it's about time for the classic Spaz meltdown before half. BC offense does nothing, is forced to punt. Opposing team takes over with 2 minutes left and scores as the half ends.

    ReplyDelete
  16. wow BC going to the prevent D in the 2 minute drill.

does Spaz have a memory? or is every week just a blank slate of awful ideas without the associated memories of past failure?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nice play and tackle by Manny.

    ReplyDelete
  18. big play by asprilla

    ReplyDelete
  19. Did Spaz get electroshock therapy after the ND game? No defensive meltdown, offense being aggressive. Amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  20. OMG a 2-minute drill? will we punch it in here or take a knee to set up a field goal?

    ReplyDelete
  21. sign of a Spaz-coached team: calling a timeout after you get the first-down on the 2-minute drill.

how's spaz supposed to know the clock stops after the first?

    ReplyDelete
  22. rettig decisions here hurt

    ReplyDelete
  23. Rettig!!! Why are you taking a sack there???

    ReplyDelete
  24. We really needed a TD there.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Freese did a good job to stay focused. A lot harder than it looks. Especially when you considered VT jumped offsides.

    ReplyDelete
  26. well i am happy that was actually ran a 2-minute drill. i'll take 3 points over 0 points.

13-3 going into the half, alright Eagles. proud of the players continuing to play hard even with a lost season.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mumble, mumble, grumble, grumble. Worst halftime interview coach in the nation.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The D played well -- other than one fluke play. Rettig was ok. Duece was good and the WRs hurt the team.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'd add to that ATL, the special teams paly was solid.

    ReplyDelete
  30. For those not following other games, Montel Harris is having a career day against Army.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Did someone say special teams play was solid?

    ReplyDelete
  32. VT made this a game without playing particularly well coming out of the half.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Beamer is a master at halftime adjustments. How many times over the past 15 years has he flat-out out-coached the BC staff at the intermission?

    ReplyDelete
  34. 6 sacks!! The devastation of O-line U under Spaz should be reason enough to can his ass.

    ReplyDelete
  35. was that a 10 yard punt?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Switch to Spaz putting his head in his palm.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Montel Harris has over 350 yds rushing and 7 touchdowns today.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Finch is far and away our 2nd best offensive threat behind Amidon. why has he been on the bench for the past 2 months Spaz?????

    ReplyDelete
  39. I have a feeling this will come down to a Freese fg at the end

    ReplyDelete
  40. O Line U fail yet again.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I.....despise......Spaz.

    ReplyDelete
  42. ATL, it's off Freese and on Rettig now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. nice return from Spiffy, nice playcall from Martin on the reverse.

a legitimate D-1 coaching staff could win 8 games with this team next year.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Dudeck with a great cutback. BOOM!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Huge answer. Come on D!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Why did BC not call a timeout after the 2nd down play?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I bet Spaz takes a knee

    ReplyDelete
  48. this is pathetic SPAZ YOU ARE THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. running a draw on 1st down is just SO STUPID. either knee it out and go to OT or OPEN IT UP. running a draw makes no sense -- no big play ability while having the risk of a fumble. unbelievable SPAZ YOU SUCK

    ReplyDelete
  50. I......hate......Spaz.

    ReplyDelete
  51. what an embarassment

    ReplyDelete
  52. Coach Coward--the epitome of why he should be fired.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ok. I did watch. Second half :-)

But WTF. Was that!!! Don 't try to win go for OT??

    Cowardice extraordinaire

    ReplyDelete
  54. Classic BC meltdown. That can't win a fixed game at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Now it wil be VT blitz, blitz, blitz.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anyone think we can pull this out? This has got to be in the heads of the BC losers.

    ReplyDelete
  57. They literally don't know how to win.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Is finch hurt, why is dudeck in

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hilarious, dudeck. you knew the game would end this way, it has become comedy now.

    ReplyDelete
  60. good to see Spaz playing it safe worked out.

    wait, it never has.

Bates should announce Spaz will be fired after the season and have him coach the last game against NC State.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Defense played great most of the game and just gave it away the last 2 drives. I don't know why I am so sick about this as we were not playing for anything but I guess I am a diehard. I'm just sick right now. So disappointed.

Maybe it is good we lost as I could imagine Bates being pressured to keep Spaz for one more year. Now, he has to fire this assclown, right?

    ReplyDelete
  62. What a totally predictable, soul-sucking SpazFest this was. You just KNEW it would end like that once he chickened out at the end of regulation. What a complete loser he is. FIRE HIM already!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Montel Harris is trending on Twitter. he scored 7 TDs against Army, a team that our entire offense scored 4 TDs against.

this has become such a joke. 0 chance i watch even a minute of NC State game. i'm done w/ BC football until Spaz is fired.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Eagleboston,

I know why I'm sick. Even when Spaz literally has nothing to lose, he still plays not to win.

Kneeling with a 1:15, Spaz gave up. He told his players rather than giving them every opportunity to win, he was going to give the opportunity back to VT.

He didn't trust our players to score. In giving up and kneeling, he showed he had more faith in VT's defense than he did his own offense.

And that makes me sick: A football coach that has more faith in the other team than his own.

Here's the truth: Spaz lost this game. He gave it to VT. Our players never even had a chance to win, because the coach wouldn't let them.

    ReplyDelete
  65. So freakin' Spaz. He has taught BC to lose. He probably think OT is some kind of accomplishment. Even the final few plays were gutless.

But Bates is gutless too. One more week of Spaz

    ReplyDelete
  66. Team should just boycott spaz next weekend. Chase should call all his own plays, what a joke this has become. If BC dropped football as a sport I really wouldn't care a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I agree Dixie. Why play it safe when you only have 2 wins and nothing on the line? And this chucklehead loser has yet to run a fake on special teams in 4 years. Unbelievable! I literally hate the man.

And get used to this gang. Spaz has so completely decimated this program, that I predict we will not cross the 3-win barrier for at least 3 years. The new coach (I'm hoping) will have to clear the decks of this loser mentality and unfortunately, that is going to take some time. A new coach will give us hope, but don't expect wins until he can get some talent to come to the Heights.

    ReplyDelete
  68. We should just join the Patriot League along with BU if this is the future. The talent of football and bball is much more fitted to that league.
