Alone at the top

Jerry York is now college hockey's winningest coach. He moved into sole possession of the most wins with an uneventful win over Alabama-Huntsville. It doesn't get easier though, as BC will face Minnesota on Sunday.

BC will hold a celebration to honor York January 18. In the run up to the event I will have more on York and his impact on BC. Congrats to York and all the teams that contributed to his wins. Let's hope he can soon start adding more championships to his resume.

  1. Yay Jerry.

Is this the most wins in hockey? Or most wins in college sport?

And now for some thing completely different.

Ever think that Clemson fans were a little off? It's true. They are. A new study shows that when some Clemson students see a turtle slowly crossing the street, they will swerve to try to hit and kill the defenseless turtle. Ya know, for fun. It's true!

BJK what is wrong with these people?

  2. Congrats to the double Eagle Jerry York. The best not only in hockey but all men's sports. Also thanks a million to Chet Gladchuk for hiring you. Happy New Year to all.

  3. Mod - there's not much to do at Clemson, outside of class work. Studying turtles crossing the road - wow!

Secondly, Clemson fans are very jittery knowing that they could once again lose to LSU in convincing fashion. They are even afraid to buy tickets through the school - opting instead for the open market where tickets can be had for $20 vs $80 or $90 from the school.

  5. Great tribute to coach York on USCHO.com. Congrats to Jerry and to all of the present and former BC players.

  6. NED: your loyalty to Gladchuk is sweet, but don't get carried away. He rejected York three times before finally hiring him in a panic when Mike Milbury bolted after two weeks on the job. And that saga includes the whole Cedorchuk/scholarships debacle.

You also like to remind us that Chet hired the incomparable Tom O'Brien, but didn't he first hire Dan Henning?

I've got no beef with Gladchuk; he's done great work at Houston and Navy. But your constant cheerleading about his contribution to BC athletics is tired. Enough already.
