Albert official and other links

As speculated Ben Albert joined the staff as Defensive Line coach. He's a solid addition with a mix of northeast college experience and a stint in the NFL.

The Marching Band will be part of the Obama Inaugural. I'm sure they will do us proud.

The Women's Hockey team beat St. Lawrence. The men tied Yale.

BCI recapped our uniform combos from last season. My vote is pretty consistent. Gold helmet with maroon stripe. Maroon jerseys at home, white on the road. Gold pants at home, maroon on the road. One crazy Under Armour helmet and uniform a year.

  1. I think Holy Cross beat Yale.

Is this BC's annual slow period?

  2. Do we cheer "Go BC" this year or "Go Temple"?

I hope these coaches do well and bring energy, etc.

They will have to prove the skeptics wrong.

  3. Half way through 2nd, BC up by 5 over NCS. Sloppy but getting it done.

  4. We would win if we could shoot free throws.

NC State stinks from the line as well.

Crunch time coming up for the young Eagles.

NC State took a dive there. 59 to 58.

  5. In regard to the marching band going to perform for Obummer, I am not so sure that this is a good thing. BHO is definitely anti-Catholic. It's called "divide and conquer". The Republicans are seen as greedy capitalists. The incumbent is just as much an evil national socialist as the man from Bavaria in the 1940s. David Healey, the director of bands, should look at just why the BC band was selected in the first place. It is not necessarily a compliment. "It all depends on what the meaning of 'is' is".

  6. Jbq, you're insane. The president if the United States, legally elected by a majority of Americans twice, is not a genocidal monster.

  8. JBQ, I'm sorry your man didn't win in November, but get over it. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are Nazi starter kits.

It is a tremendous honor for the kids to perform at such an event. Don't be selfish and take away from them with your misguided political rants.

  12. JBQ, we still live in a democracy. You and your fellow right wing-nuts voted. It is still a democracy. I doubt very much that it will ever be a socialist nation, but if it ever is, it will only be because the majority wanted it. Democracy, get it?

  13. @MUD, @Joseph: BC and ND are the only two Catholic D-1 football teams. Football is a symbol of the university and not the other way around. Catholicity stands for certain moral precepts which are not democratic in origin. BC is ranked about 31 in education value by US News & World Report for a reason. Flutie & Jags both took BC to the "heights" as did Leahy before. Nevertheless, the important issue is just for what BC stands and it is not complete democracy. It is for moral values which give a backbone to our society. Morality, get it?
