Congratulations to all those who took part. As always they represented the school well.

  1. I love that they played "For Boston." Looked and sounded great.

  2. Just like Obama at ND, BC mitigates the atheistic influence of the incumbent. The Republicans are greedy capitalists and the Democrats are atheistic socialists. Therefore, BC should be in the lead for "JC and the Sunshine Band". Instead, the university is just one more sycophant on the road to National Socialism. BC refuses to send their band to bowl games and yet will turn around and send them to support the atheist. Just as with Terry Mulloy in "On the Waterfront", BC "coulda been a contender".

  5. It's a great moment for BC and especially for the young men and women in the band and flag team. They did us proud!

Nutbags like JBQ will be forgotten long before that memory begins to fade.

  6. @mod10aeagle:"For Boston". BC should stand for something. I served 4 years in the Navy because I stand for something. JFK died because he stood for something. Nazi Germany arose because Catholics stood for nothing.

  7. JBQ is the man!

  8. @JBQ: whether you know it or not, when you served in the Navy, you weren't "standing up" for the Catholic Church, you were standing up for all Americans, including it's non-Catholics, which, by the way, is not the same thing as an atheist, but you were standing up for them, too.

And, regardless of my own political affiliation, I'm offended by your imbecilic generalizations of Democrats and Republicans. As a Catholic, you should know better than to engage is such small-brained behavior. You're not representing any of the institutions you appear to hold dear well when you do.

    Enough.

  9. Wait, obama is an athiest nazi? I thought jbq and his friends believed he was a muslim communist. Which one is it jbq?

  10. @mod10eagle:as Jack Nicholson said in "A few Good Men", the truth, you can't handle the truth. America is detiorating and both parties are to blame. I served as a Catholic and represented my Church and not the scum of society of which Pravda has associated with one of the political parties. BC football can make a difference even though Matt Ryan "fell on his face". The Flutie miracle was quite inspiring and makes one believe that anything is possible. @bc1900:I choose selection "c": all of the above. Ever to Excel or "what's a heaven for"!

  11. Ah, the cold slap of reality ... not even here are all one ... or sane.

Nevermind. The band looked fantastic and provided a proud moment for all BC alumni, even those who choose not to appreciate it.

  12. Geez, I get enough of this nutsiness on "Catholic" forums. Not here, too!

  13. Maybe we should come around to JBQ's thinking, even BC is going down the toilet. We should be more like stricter Christian colleges in the US. Can you believe we teach biology at BC? We should teach creationism instead and what the bible tells us. There are actually women in power now at BC, a women head trustee. The good book suggests men should be in control, we should be a mirror of the Vatican and not let women be in positions of power. While we are at it, we should push all gay and lesbian students out of BC, as the Pope just declared in his Christmas message that they are evil. JBQ wants to take us to a better place or back to the good old days, these are some steps in that direction.

  14. JBQ, Check out lucianne.com; brietbart.com; instapundit; redstate.com. Etc. you'll love it. Go for it! On some of these sites, you'd actually be a moderate!

    But spare us here.

  15. JBQ is at a militia meeting. The government is coming to get us, be prepared.

  16. I swear I saw 2 black helicopters flying over the band.

  17. I think JBQ is ObserverCollege's next iteration. Bravo, OC

  18. Let's look at this from an economic viewpoint. Where did the money come from for the band to travel and how many went? In January of 2011, BC football went to the Kraft Hunger Bowl in San Francisco to finish off the 2010 season. They played Colin Kaepernick and Nevada and lost 20-13. BC could not afford to send the band to the game. The band could have held a fundraiser. BC just didn't want the hassle. So, who paid for the trip to DC? I'm betting that it was a political gimmick paid for by the DNC. No matter how you look at it, BC was used for the political feedback.

  19. ienchmm 1112paid for by the DNC? Maybe, but so what? If JBQ is so Catholic (maybe even christian) where is the love that Jesus preached.

As an aside to praising a great job by the band, a question for JBQ" If we are "on the road to National Socialism" as a result of being a democracy/republic, then what should we do? Become a right-wing dictatorship with only JBQ approved folks allowed in the country?

  20. @blist: if JBQ is a new iteration of CO, he forgot his sense of humor. The idea that the BC marching band is being used by the nefarious DNC for political purposes is nutty, but not funny.

No, I think it's more likely that JBQ has simply gone over the mental cliff.

  21. I would put odds at even money, JBQ is over 65, white and retired. When you listen to rush all day and chat on internet forums about 'them' taking over, you sometimes can be seperated from reality.

  22. When I want to make a political point, I always hire the BC Band. Because they are all socialists. Nothing says "we are taking over your lives" quite like a peppy version of For Boston.
