In-game comments post: Army

Last year the Army game was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Let's hope this year is different. Leave your thoughts and comments below.

  1. For those there: how is the weather?

  2. Sunny and warm at the moment - zero wind right now.

Looks like a small crowd day, unfortunately.

Red Sox playoff game at 5:30 equals no BC coverage or very little.

  3. Howell is our best punter - in practice anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Kimble is practicing. Army in all white with black trim.

We are practicing 40 yard passes to the endzone just before the pre-game break.

  5. love the BJK inside scoop.

i'm surprised Kimble is practicing. i haven't heard much about him and was wondering if he'd get a medical red shirt for this year. a Williams-Kimble-Willis rotation would be interesting.

  6. Late arriving crowd as usual - pathetic.

Only a handful of cadets unfortunately.

About 5K in the stands right now. Dead feeling - no spirit.

  7. We kickoff in front of 10K

    ReplyDelete
  8. This has been too easy for Army.

  9. The local alumni really piss me off. Get out and support this team! The Red Sox don't play until well after this game is finished. Big Jack, I applaud you for traveling all the way from the Carolinas for this game. It's a shame the people living 10 miles away don't exhibit the same support.

    Must be prime apple picking

  11. Is anyone else having ESPN3 issues? Mine keeps freezing.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Spaz defense today - bad news

    ReplyDelete
  13. mine's streaming fine ATL

    ReplyDelete
  14. My streaming is surprisingly very good today.

Not liking the way the BC defensive front is getting pushed around. Spaz's recruiting focus must be on getting better defenders.

Well, neither defense can stop the other

    ReplyDelete
  16. This is terrible. I understand assignment football against the option, but someone has got to make a big play. Army is moving it at will.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ramsey is needed instead of standing on the sideline with his helmet off.

Coach Brown is a no show so far. D is incapable of stopping Army at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The offense is doing its job. No complaints there. Now it is on the D.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can see williams playing on sundays

    ReplyDelete
  20. That was finally a drive where were played well and overpowered them.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Finally got a stop. The good news is they cannot stop our offense.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Do we have any impact receivers coming next year?? THats one area that we cant ever recruit

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can Andre Williams play Army every week?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Andre Williams is the biggest threat to our defense. They're going to ask him to take a knee after gaining 10 yards just so they can get a breather.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Andre is a man. he looks like a totally different back. legit NFL prospect. hopefully Coach Brown can figure out how to stop the triple option and we can cruise to an easy W

    ReplyDelete
  26. FSU beating Maryland 35-0. did we wake up FSU, or can we compete with Maryland?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Addazio using his Timeouts to preserve time for us. Encouraging.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That is some absolutely terrible clock management. Daz should have called timeout immediately on the 3rd down stop. And they need to move with some urgency.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wow, what a kick by Freese! That is a weapon we have not had in years!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Freese is going to be a kicker in the NFL. what a versatile weapon.

the failure to use a timeout was bizarre. BC should've scored a tut.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree Danny but we'll take the 50yard fg.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That was frustrating time management at the end of the half, but is anyone else just delighted that we did not take a knee and actually went for it? We all need to appreciate this new era where 48 seconds is an opportunity, not just a way to get into the locker room quicker.

  33. The D seems to be adjusting.

    Unlike last week

    ReplyDelete
  35. Maryland down by 42 to Florida State. Did State improve that much in one week, or are we perhaps better than we thought?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Willis is a weapon on the kick returns. the first time he ever returned kicks was last week. reminds me of a more versatile Jeff Smith (who remembers him?).

hoping we can pull away in the 3rd and check out Bordner and some other backups in the 4th.

    ReplyDelete
  37. eagle boston -- i think its a bit of both. we played a good game against FSU, and they are playing better this week.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Emerald Isle Classic (even though the game was played in November). I remember waking up early to watch the game on ESPN. My future wife was a BC flag girl (I guess the PC term is color guard) and after a BC touchdown, they filmed her dancing with some other members of her squad in the endzone. I believe it was the first college game played in Europe. It was a dark era for BC football, so it was a bowl game atmosphere.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Who is the color commentator? He is actually pretty good for ESPN3 but not sure about the bald pony tail look.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Dang, they finally stopped us. Good adjustments by their D.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Not how we wanted to start the half.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I cannot believe the big plays we've allowed on D. How can we not run down Army players?

    ReplyDelete
  43. This defense is scary bad today - really miss Mehdi and Kaleb apparently has the day off. Our interior line is not up to the task.

    Bad kickoff play.

    ReplyDelete
  44. With our Shit defense, BC needs to score on every possession. Rettig needs to step up his play. We need more downfield passing to get their D out of the box.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Amidon looks slow today. He must be hurt.

I will say it again, Day needs to open things up.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Illegal formation?? That is inexcusable!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think if we can get one more stop, we will win this game. The scary thing is, we may not get one more stop.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Need a three and out from the D now. I know this sounds silly but I don't want this coming down to the last possession.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Between Freese's kick and Ramsey's offsides, we just gave Army 15 yards.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Why are we calling a timeout now? We may regret that late in the 4th quarter.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ramsey made a big difference in the middle.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I would like to see Spiffy just explode off a punt return and score.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Benjamin:

At least they are throwing to Spiffy.

    ReplyDelete
  54. ATL -
True. I'm listnening online, it sounded like the Spiffy drop hurt. Was it defended well?

    ReplyDelete
  55. My stream just went blue screen of death and now there is a message saying ESPN3 is experiencing technical difficulties.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Spiffy did not drop the pass. Rettig under-threw the pass and it was knocked down at the goal line by an Army defender.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks Eagleboston. Based on what I've heard, I'm very excited for the future with Myles.

Our D is going to need work.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Addazio led the team to the opposite side at the end of the third.

We would like a first down.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Getting Technical Difficulty messages from ESPN 3 now.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Really, really wanted a touchdown there.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Freese 6 for 6 on field goals this year. The true test will be if he can kick a game-winning FG.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think Williams just tied the BC touchdown record with 5. Montel William held the record.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Andre is 7 yards from the record.

    ReplyDelete
  64. After this series - fans already filing out - unreal.

    ReplyDelete
  65. BJK, seeing as it is homecoming weekend, the only excuse is that maybe people want to get ready for the dance? Or that maybe there's a Sox game tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I thought Harris had over 300 yards once?

    ReplyDelete
  67. I know we faced their backup QB, but we were much better on defense in the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Eagleboston, that was at Temple.

    ReplyDelete
  69. ESPN 3 is a piece of crap. Out again.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I feel like I am trying to watch TV in 1956.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Did Andre get the record? If not, he should have been in during the last series.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Both teams stayed for each others alma mater

    ReplyDelete
  73. We have now exceeded our win total from last year. Now, let's get 3 more.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Based on the post game interview, I don't think Daz was aware of the rushing record and how close Williams was to the record.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Even if Addazio didn't know our record, Ryan Day should have had an idea since he was here to see Montel vs NCSU.

    ReplyDelete
  76. If Rettig can throw a few accurate passes, Andre can run all day...I want to believe...
