In-game comments post: Florida State

BC has nothing to lose. Well, almost nothing. If we don't come to play, we lose the chance to end the nation's longest win streak and pull off the biggest BC upset since 1993. I think we can do it. Let's hope the guys in the locker room come ready to play! Leave your comments and thoughts below.

  1. Let's go, Eagles. Give em hell in Talahassie.

  2. We'll find out in a couple of minutes, but I think it's rainy today in Tallahassie.

    Does that help us any?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Looks like they changed their minds on the unconquered unis.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'm guessing the unis would have been in bad taste given the shootings?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Mistake to defer after we won the toss?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Big Jack,

Yes. Can't figure the logic behind that decision.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Getting first downs. I like it

    ReplyDelete
  8. Let's catch the ball and run not fall down.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Darn, that shitty pass to Darmstatter is going to kill this drive.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Moving the ball and controlling the clock.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wow, shovel pass to Alston. I was wrong. Drive sustained.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Still can;t figure out why this staff does not give Willis more touches.

    Probably in Howell's range now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Correct that, Knowles' range. Nice drive but I did not like to see that call with Outlow on first down. Hilliman and Willis were running strong. Why stray from what is working?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I like that we were committed to handing the ball off on that first drive. We all know if we're going to win this game, it's going to come down to Tyler making plays. But holding that back, saving it for later, smart.

  15. The Florida State drive was very smooth but BC held in there. There were no long plays. Maybe State will make a mistake. I watched Murphy rotate the laces on the FG. The hold was okay but shaky that is why Knowles almost missed it. Murphy is not a super passer. If he was, BC would have a touchdown. He appears nervous. Let's hope that he calms down.

  16. Live by the blitz, die by the blitz

    ReplyDelete
  17. Defense is not looking good so far and we can't trade field goals for touchdowns.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, if we can't beat 'em. let's have them beat themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This second BC possession will be interesting - and critical.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I would say anytime you keep Florida State out of the endzone, that is a good drive.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Finally, the well oiled machine blinked. Burt Reynolds planted the spear. Maybe, "The Longest yard" will be an inspiration. +

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm kind of surprised at the attendance at this game. A team in the playoff hunt and you can't fill the stadium?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh boy, 3 and out. This one dimensional offense kills us. I hope we get a passer next season. Now a dead tired defense has to get right back on the field.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 2nd and 2 - FSU had 8 or 9 guys in the box, and we run it up the middle for no gain.

Then we don't get the first down. The "we have to play a near perfect game" just went out the window.

I hope we don't look back on this series as a very bad thing.

    We must hold them now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Great INT - great break - we needed that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. There's the break we need! Now offense, get us a TD!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Damn, that was a sweet toss from Murphy! Phillips was wide open. And we nailed the PAT!!!

Not getting excited yet as this is the MO of Florida State all season.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "eagleboston"'s prayer was answered. Now, BC just needs to keep their helmets on tight and make Winston blink again. "Slow and steady" wins the race. Good to see coach staying calm. It obviously is rubbing off on the players. It is noted that Asprilla and Simmons are playing well.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Blitz has not worked all game. But, you can't stop doing it. Just hope at some point we get to him.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Man, we just can't stop their offense.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Was it ever confirmed that Alex Amidon went into the military?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Even with his head screwed on crooked, Winston still has an unbelievable arm. I hated the "evil" O'Leary getting the catch. One good thing may be the hit to Greene. He may be through with a clean hit by Brown number 5 who is playing well with an interception. The announcers remarked on the clean hit. Greene looks like he has a broken arm.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That pisses me off. Murphy has got to realize what is happening. I saw that blitz coming a mile away.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We absolutely have to score at least a field goal in the first drive of the second half or this game will get out of hand.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not perfect but a decent 30 minutes. Need to make a few more plays in the 2nd half.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Was it ever confirmed that Alex Amidon went into the military?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Down 7, we get the ball - raining.

I like it a lot better than some other scenarios.

I hope it pours rain in the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jimbo took a little dig at BC by saying we only had 95 yards rushing.

Hey, Jimbo, you only rushed for 36.

Recruiting needs to focus on getting better defensive backs and faster outside linebackers. Our pass defense has been suspect all season and Winston gashed us for 193.

    ReplyDelete
  39. We'll take it - and nice run anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Get yardage on first down. It's a must, Ryan Day.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Darn, they made amazing adjustments at half.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ah crap. Needed to score at least 3 there. I have no confidence in our defense stopping this team.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow, Winston took a shot to the head.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My God, Burt Reynolds looks really, really creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dirty, dirty play by Thomas. Kick him out.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Willis gets over 5 yards every carry. How come he does not get more touches?

    ReplyDelete
  47. The whole world is watching!

    The whole world is watching!

    ReplyDelete
  48. W/ Winston limping we have to keep bringing the blitz.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm seeing lots of holding by FSU.

    ReplyDelete
  50. What a dirty hit by Thomas. That may be the play that turns the game around. He should have and was ejected. O'Leary should have been ejected last year and then taken off the turf in cuffs. Winston can't run and took a hit to the head. Unfortunately, he still has an arm. BC just has to stay the course and hope for another break.

    ReplyDelete
  51. We HAVE to get to Winston

    ReplyDelete
  52. I wish we had more like Manny

    ReplyDelete
  53. Strizak is a beast!

    And Mr. Automatic missed!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Gotta shrug it off, and stp em

    ReplyDelete
  55. Shoot needed to score there. We had them on the run. Not sure why we were running to the right so much when the left had them on their heels.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This game appears as if it will go down to the wire. I thought we would get completely blown out, so I am sitting here quite surprised.

I'm trying to stay even keeled and not get excited as I have had my hopes dashed so many times by BC football.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm glad that pass was incomplete as the BC rushers were getting held yet again.

    ReplyDelete
  58. These guys do not like the rain

    ReplyDelete
  59. Now, we know why BC has so many blitzes. One announcer said that Don Brown told him that BC couldn't rush four against a tree.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ah, just what I predicted. The ACC refs realize they need to protect FSU.

    ReplyDelete
  61. No, no, no. Do not blow a timeout here! Why do they do this every game???? In a close game you need all 3 timeouts for the final drive.

    Huge mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  62. This is a thing of beauty

    ReplyDelete
  63. Like the play calling but 3rd and 9 is really hard to convert.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Should have gone for it

    ReplyDelete
  65. That's the game. We have seen this story before. Winston drives them to the go-ahead TD and BC has no time on the clock and only 2 timeouts.

    ReplyDelete
  66. They are the luckiest team in college football history.

But, this is BC's fault. Should have kept running the football.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Loved the idea of the trick play but not on 2nd & long when run game was cooking

    ReplyDelete
  68. I guess the burned timeout is not going to matter. We won't have any time left.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Gonna lose because of that damn terrible play call. You had to get yards in that situation. Now terrible defense.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I agree, Albany. The trick on first down would make sense, but not on second and long. Shame is it cost BC the game.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Gotta hope the rain causes a loose ball.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Still, let's put this in perspective. BC is a mid-tier ACC team hanging with the best in the country. I thought we would get blown out. It's still a loss, but BC can hang their heads high.

    ReplyDelete
  73. That trick play call was the worst play call in Ryan Day's history, and that is saying something. He stole this game from his players.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Kicking game has cost BC 2 games this year.

    ReplyDelete
  75. BC will lose because of a missed FG yet again this year too.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Isn't that 3 gsmes because of kicking now?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah, I think it is 3 games. Need to shore that up for next season.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Run Ryan Day out of town.

    ReplyDelete
  79. BB

I don't agree the call cost us the game. The coach is trying to win, the play was there just a little mis timed. Even if they scored FSU just went right down the field on us. So we would have had OT. I like the effort we will win our share in the future if we can keep this staff. Crush the Cuse!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Beat Syracuse!

Great try, guys. Stay pissed (not disappointed) and roll next week.

    ReplyDelete
  81. It was a horrible call. Do it on first down, not on second after you got 0 yards on the first play. Needed to set them up for a makeable 3rd down. Needed more yards for a potential FG too. Just horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  82. The fg was actually close. It was long enough. The kid has to keep his head up. I too think that State would have moved the length of the field to win. Very good game against a very good team. The offensive line was gassed according to a sideline reporter at the end of the third quarter. They were running on fumes and almost pulled it off.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Brave is just upset Palin is not relevant anymore. He also had discovered his law degree from a 3rd tier law school is worthless. FYI, I went to Yale Law.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Brave, are you still fighting against the homosexual agenda?

    ReplyDelete
  85. That dig at Bravesbill was not cool, bc1900.

In my experience, I have encountered plenty of bright, competent people from community colleges as well as complete idiots that have no common sense from Ivy League schools. In fact, Google, which analyzes everything, found no correlation with where their employees went to school and success on the job.

    ReplyDelete
  86. BB

2 years ago we had a staff that barely showed up to these types of games. I suggest you read TRs man in the arena.

    ReplyDelete
  87. What is your experience, middle mgmt? The best firms recruit at the best schools, end of story. Thus why you do not see Suffolk grads or srate school grads at white shoe law firms.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Just letting off steam Hoib. Was still a horrible call but I'm feeling better after Notre Dame just missed an easy FG to lose. And bc, that's not a third tier law school and at least I'm doing something worthwhile with my life. And the fact that you probably stalked me to find that out and brag about Yale out is pretty creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  89. At a minimum, Day should've used two downs to try to get the 8 or 9 yards needed for a first down and killed at least another minute off the clock before attempting a potentially game-winning field goal from perhaps five or more yards closer in. 8 yards in two plays, the way BC ran the ball today was a mid- to high-percentage option. Going for a very low-percentage trick play that required a former quarterback to make a starting quarterback-caliber pass and your current quarterback to make a catch most of your starting receivers would have trouble making was a total bonehead move.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I googled your name, it took 10 seconds. You act like a smug ass on here, so I thought I would let you know you are not that special. My firm has an opening for a paralegal, are you interested?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Keep chasing ambulances douchebag. It's people like you who give the law profession a terrible reputation.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I figured with your degree you were a chaser, asst da, or in the military. I work for a top three firm in NYC, nice try.
