In-game comments post: Florida State

Now the season begins. We will learn a lot about the team in the next few hours. Let's show the college football world that we are more than the team that beat up on Maine and Howard!

  1. This game is going to come down to turnovers and the kicking game. Everything is going to have to go right for BC to have a chance in this contest, which is asking a lot of a young football team.

  2. At the game - late arriving crowd as usual but spirited.

FSU fans may help to make the stadium presentable in terms of attendance. Don't know yet - jury still out 10 min before kickoff.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Half full for the Captains.

    ReplyDelete
  4. And the teams - kind of pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Addazio pregame speech effing priceless

    ReplyDelete
  6. So far. Defense is priceful.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Gholson laid that dude out.

    ReplyDelete
  8. That was easy.

    ReplyDelete
  9. We looked like Howard.

    ReplyDelete
  10. That was too easy. No pressure at all.

    ReplyDelete
  11. They are running plays we don't see in practice

    ReplyDelete
  12. That was bad too. Wade got a bit gun shy there. He could have tried a pass.

    ReplyDelete
  13. More slants against a blitzing D. I bet.

We need to sell it out and get to Gholston now.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Not concerned yet. If you look at the past 2 years, Don Brown's defenses almost always spot the other team 3 or 7 points.

However, I am concerned that the defense was not prepared and had to burn a timeout when they had plenty of time to get set-up due to the penalty.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'll never understand why special teams players block in the back. Seems like a simple concept to understand, but it happens so often.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Burning up the TOs.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hate punting there.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is why you don't burn stupid timeouts. Clock management is critical in ACC games.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is bullshit. They don't review the punt, but they are looking at a run?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Our defense is good.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I left a note here earlier about the refs. Big BC home games are fixed

    ReplyDelete
  22. We have a running QB. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  23. If we had an average field goal kicker I would feel much better about scoring here.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Up to this point he has been. I am not dealing with your shit tonight though.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Crawl back under the rock.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Like We know, make Wade win the game.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Gibberish. As usual.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He's never been. Good talk.

    ReplyDelete
  29. There is your run asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  30. There is your second run. Douchebag.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You have ZERO credibility

    ReplyDelete
  32. Up to this point? Really?

    ReplyDelete
  33. What time did the Liz Warren supporting neighbors allow the place to open for tailgating? My bet is 7:30pm, maybe 7:45.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That was Wade's first bad decision.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He is definitely a better runner than passer. See clown?

Oh it is better than a punt blah blah.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Guys, we're on the same team here. Knock off the attacks.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Not only was there a chop block, there was a blatant hold on that play.

    ReplyDelete
  38. He is one for you. Number of know nothing clowns here . . .

    1 CT

    ReplyDelete
  39. We want Flutie!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I screamed "safety". How did he escape?

    ReplyDelete
  41. BtW - 93 Kavalek done for the night.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If u can prove Knuckle went to BC, I might root for FSU.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Darn, Golson is ice. What a play. Most QBs would have been hit with the safety.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Third a 2. Deep pass to Rudolph

    ReplyDelete
  45. Even at 52 he can still move the chains.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Slants are killing us. Again we don't see them in practice

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wade stinks at this point. But it's his first real game.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lack of tackling on that Golston scramble. So frustrating. Watch FSU March this down the field now. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bring back Dana Bible. You know if we want to see slant passes

    ReplyDelete
  50. Attendance up to 27,909. Hoping for 30,000 by half time.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ur an absolute moron. We don't see slants? Are the Red Sox playing?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Very good defensive series

    ReplyDelete
  53. These are best set of corners we have had going back to Dejuan Tribble and that other guy

    ReplyDelete
  54. The slant cleared out the 3rd 2. You are blind and dumb

    ReplyDelete
  55. Amazing how the D almost always has a bad first drive and then buckles down. Unfortunately, our offense is so bad that we really can't afford to spot teams 7 points. Not sure what the answer is for the offense, so we may need the D to force a turnover.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Seriously. You are the worst fraud sports fan I have ever come across.

    ReplyDelete
  57. We don't have anyone who can catch. The pass to number 24 earlier the one that hit him in the chest/shoulder was pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  58. TGS: hoping for 35k tonight. What's the BC excuse tonight?

    We're still hanging around.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Runner runner. HAHAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  60. You have no idea who or what you are talking about

    ReplyDelete
  61. U'd be more fun if u were smarter.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Terrible play calling on this drive.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Denial is a major problem in your world.

    Runner runner

    ReplyDelete
  64. Why does BC insist on running the same plays twice in a row?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I like having Wade run. It will open up other things.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Why is knucklehead pissed at CT again?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Need a great defensive stand here. Game might be over if we go down 14.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yes. On 3rd and long. U don't want Wade throwing there. It's the same as a draw. But he's slow. That's why they only do it in desperation.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Run it until they stop it. Buh dum shh

    ReplyDelete
  70. CT, since it was too dark for a bike ride through the means streets of Harvard Square, what did you do for a pregame ritual? Hunker down with some Chardonnay and Brie and watch reruns of The View?

    ReplyDelete

  71. Blogger CT said...
We have a running QB. Right?

    8:39 PM

    ReplyDelete
  72. He should run but he's not good at it. But he should because he can't throw. Might be the best of two bad choices.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Any truth to the rumor that Coach A. Wants out after this season due to his wife's health? Apparently she has terrible arthritis and can't take these winters anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Next person up. Al Washington is ready

    ReplyDelete
  75. I thought the out of bounds call was bad. Saved a TD.

    ReplyDelete
  76. THS: close. I grew up in Atlanta. Drank beer. Pedaling my way through stupid comments. Like urs?

    ReplyDelete
  77. What about it Knucks?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Does Addazio know the forward pass has been legal for awhile now? Guy makes Pop Warner look innovative.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Apparently, there is a huge fire from the maintenance building on campus.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Huge, huge miss. That saved the game for BC. We absolutely cannot get 2 scores down.

    ReplyDelete
  81. If we get 4 safeties we can win this thing 8-7.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Illegal Alien just hooked the kick. Now we can open it up on offense TGS

    ReplyDelete
  83. Missed FG!! Let's Go!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Beautiful. Maintenance there are awesome(worked summers with them for 2 years). They were probably roasting a pig in there.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Was a good call by the refs thankfully. Also got lucky on that missed field goal. The way the offense is being called, it probably won't even matter.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Well his QB kinda sux.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Quote of the week from Big East.

    ReplyDelete
  88. If BC can ever sync their offensive and defensive units, they will have a legit shot at the ACC. It seems the years the offense is great, the defense struggles and vice versa.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I didn't know Donald Trump followed ATL.

I am going to build like the biggest wall. Like up to the rafters here. They will pay for it to. They will like it.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Knucks for Hillary in 2016!
    Who's with him?

    ReplyDelete
  91. It'll be yuuuuuuge!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Not all Dude. I said it was quote of the week. Trump is great

    ReplyDelete
  93. Big East, that was a micro aggression if there ever was one. You could get arrested at BC now for making a derogatory comment about illegal immigrants. Excuse me, I mean undocumented aliens.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Send back all the bad dudes. They will be out of here so fast your held will spin.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Didn't we see this same crap at the end of a half with Spaz and Nyquil?! What the hell?

    ReplyDelete
  96. That drive tells u all u need to know about Wade.

    ReplyDelete
  97. That was a wasted possession. I am glad it is close, but that was cowardly at the half.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think Jimbo is an illegal alien

    ReplyDelete
  99. BigEast, that was an inappropriate statement. No place for that on a Catholic school blog.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Addazio was thinking about his wifes' arthritis

    ReplyDelete
  101. FSU is going to be good next year. Not so much this year.

    ReplyDelete
  102. touch a nerve eagle? Maybe your green card should be checked.

    ReplyDelete
  103. We played poorly on offense. The defense is very good. The offense needs to find a, just one, receiver and a goddammned field goal kicker.

Florida State played about as well as they can.

We have a good chance here.

    ReplyDelete
  104. BigEast, I called the INS. Phone was busy.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Let's get politics involved!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I still think BC can win this.

    ReplyDelete
  107. When will they learn that playing it safe rarely wins games?

    ReplyDelete
  108. 10/10/81 Doug Flutie debuts and changes the course of BC history forever. 9/18/15, Troy Flutie ...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Sorry, Big East, my mom's side of the family goes back to settlers in the 1600s.

By the way, Aquayo was born in the US. Nothing illegal or alien about him.

    ReplyDelete
  110. We're hanging around. Can't run the ball but so what? Sherm is waiting. Right? Anybody? Is this microphone on?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Eagle Boston has pointed out this is a Catholic school blog. Limit your off color remarks to pedophiles priests please.

    ReplyDelete
  112. ATL,
When is draft kings going to start posting ads here?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Now eagle is supporting anchor babies. Hey bud, keep your leftist ideas off our board.
Who thinks we throw it more than 3 times in the second half?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Irony or mis-type? Aguayo. Aguayo. Agu...nevermind

    ReplyDelete
  115. I agree with ATL, BC can win this. The Eagles defense is solid, so we just need to find some way for the offense to get rolling. I think we need 17 points for the W.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I kinda think Hilliman was deported.

    ReplyDelete
  117. We need to build a wall around this blog to keep Eagle Boston out. Must be a Bernie sanders blog out there that would take the rump swab.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Only way BC can win is by putting Jeff Smith in at QB. It's obvious BC won't pass. They need another weapon on the ground. Start doing the Tyler Murphy offense from last year.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Let's keep the focus on football folks.

    ReplyDelete
  120. So many damn stupid penalties. Punt.

    ReplyDelete
  121. They need someone who can get open and catch passes.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Harris Williams is hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Same play over and over and over.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Fitch is playing it too conservative. Have to try something.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Eagle Boston is right. College football is critical, much more important than trivial matters like securing the nation's borders.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Not a bit impressed with Fitch. Deja vu.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Offense looked better on that drive.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Good stop by BC
Way out of the illegal's range for a FG

    ReplyDelete
  129. Eagle Boston bragged about being a mayflower descendant. You'd think with a 200-300 year head start on most people he'd at least be able to secure gainful employment.

    ReplyDelete
  130. LANDRY is really good.

    ReplyDelete
  131. How much of this can really be pinned on Fitch. Seems like this is mostly Daz's doing.

    ReplyDelete
  132. The nations boarders have been a festering problem for 25 years.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Our offense is illegal

    ReplyDelete
  134. D must win it I guess. Bring on Smith?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Jesus Christ. That pass fucking sucked

    ReplyDelete
  136. Do we have a scout team QB that could step in?

    ReplyDelete
  137. We need a turnover. Our defense is really good though

    ReplyDelete
  138. Bring in Jeff Smith. For the love of God!

    ReplyDelete
  139. BigEast, you don't know who the reserve QB's are?

    ReplyDelete
  140. I don't want any of them. Was hoping there's a 4th string walk on we don't know about that could give it a shot. A pick 6 would be our best hope.

    ReplyDelete
  141. 3-9 for 32 yards. Free Flutie from the beach now. I think I see racial overtones in Daz's QB selection methodology. No justice, no peace.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Brave, The game is too close right now. Addazio wants his friggin guy to win the game.

    ReplyDelete
  143. TGS has made me a believer. Give me Flutie or give me ......

    ReplyDelete
  144. Smith would add another dimension to the run offense. Of course it's too logical to put him in so it'll never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  145. We don't have anyone who can get open. Even Boardner would be helpful on this team. Wade could toss passes up to him.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Interesting stat - we have 97 yards rushing to just 84 for Florida State. Willis has the hot hand so not sure why he is not getting more touches.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Run up the middle. The imagination astounds me. Like I'm watching a Chip Kelly offense.

    ReplyDelete
  148. BC just 2-10 on 3rd down. Sounds like last season.

    ReplyDelete
  149. This play calling is almost comical. Wade is almost comically bad. And I can't take much of Mack Briwn anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Christ he should have taken that down and run on 3rd down.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Here comes the Gholston turnover.

    ReplyDelete
  152. None of the luck plays are going our way.

    ReplyDelete
  153. John Johnson and Milano are cleaning up shit

    ReplyDelete
  154. Golson is just too elusive.

    ReplyDelete
  155. FSU play calling is in a different league. They actually use plays to set up other plays. My God.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Wohhhhh. Here comes the pick

    ReplyDelete
  157. They also have no admission standards so that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Flea Flicker to Golson

    ReplyDelete
  159. Anyone going to the game in Dublin next year? I need someone to run some guns and Sam Adams to Sinn Fein and the IRA.

    ReplyDelete
  160. BC messing with the clock. Learned that one from the Pats.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Get ready for a brutally timed makeup call by the refs for the play clock snafu

    ReplyDelete
  162. Sinn Fein hates Boston College we sold out all their secrets. Look it up. I don't have to explain

    ReplyDelete
  163. Fuck yes he is a running quarterback

    ReplyDelete
  164. 9 more of those runs and it's a tie game

    ReplyDelete
  165. that was for you CT you ignorant dump

    ReplyDelete
  166. How many freaking times do they have to run that damn sweep or fake sweep draw on first down?!? They are fooling no one. There's no purpose to any of these damn calls.

    ReplyDelete
  167. If they had a receiver I would say it is being done to set up a pass from Alston to someone

    ReplyDelete
  168. Actually a throw back down and diagonally across the field to Wade could be there

    ReplyDelete
  169. Win or lose, the defense is a huge positive to take away from this game. It was too hard to gauge how good they were after the first 2 games due to the quality of opponents, but it is clear now that this is a top 10 D. May need them to win 2-3 games for us.

    ReplyDelete
  170. I tweeted this, but run the zone option read with Wade on this drive. Something will break open.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Father Calinan with the catch

    ReplyDelete
  172. There it was. The receiver pass.

    CT you taking notes

    ReplyDelete
  173. ATL tweeted something. I'm impressed

    ReplyDelete
  174. Calinan is open down the seam on traditional play action

    ReplyDelete
  175. Another terrible play call. Fitch needs to be fired tonight. Ridiculous. Good night.

    ReplyDelete
  176. His forward momentum was stopped. The fucking whistle should have blown there

    ReplyDelete
  177. Goddammned refs. Fucking new it

    ReplyDelete
  178. Turn out the lights, the party's over.

    ReplyDelete
  179. There is plenty to second guess in this game. Now Addazio needs to open it up.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Losing. I will make us winners again.

If Addazio leaves because of his wifes arthritis we should hire Trump

    ReplyDelete
  181. Knucklehead. Smart ur not.

They dont design plays for Wade to run as a primary option. Pls watch more football.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Darn, that's the game. I blame the coaches. Willis was successful running the ball in the 1st quarter, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry, and we have not seen him since.

Now, I'll be curious to see what the coaches do. We could start passing down 2 scores. Or, Addazio may just stick with the run and try to get one score to make the game look good.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Play to win the freaking game. There's a reason why you play close games against FSU Daz and you never win.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Daz needs to find a nice D2 school in Texas where he can run on every play and his wife will be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Daz is the second coming of Dan Henning. ESPN reporting he is headed back to traditional power Temple.

    ReplyDelete
  186. CT who is coming in for Wade?

    ReplyDelete
  187. His QB just isn't good. Yet.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Does this mean Jeff Smith comes in?

    ReplyDelete
  189. #75 just got his QB killed. Completely whiffed the block.

    ReplyDelete
