In-game comments post: Howard

Can you imagine what coverage for this game might have been like before ESPN3? I don't know if IMG Sports would provide a radio feed if not for contract obligations. The game shouldn't be interesting, but I know most of us will still watch. Let's hope everything clicks.

  1. Don't know if this is the way it will go, but this is a mismatch so far.

  2. This isn't even fun to watch.

  3. I feel bad for the announcers. There is no way to make this even remotely interesting.

  4. @ORD -- yeah this is just awful to watch.

    20-0...... just a bozo game

  5. Switching to UM-MSU. At least Maine kept it interesting. Other than a W, there is nothing good about this game.

  6. i guess one positive is that Daz has his guys coming out with fire.....not playing down to the competition.

  7. PATs look better.... stronger, higher kicks... at least that is something..... :-)

  8. Kicker should get lots of practice!

  9. How many fans will return for the 2nd half? Wonder what the announced crowd is?

We are most likely DFL in ACC attendance now - great job, Brad. We are proud! We are - BC!

  10. BC could become the face of FBS on FCS brutality if this continues. How crazy would that be?

  11. How many bloggers will tune in? :-)

  12. It's rare that I'll turn off a BC game because we're WINNING by too much, but I turned this one off in the first quarter. I'm glad they didn't come out soft, but man, I feel bad for Howard.

  13. Where is Ryan Day when we need him??

We need a strategy to stall and not score

  14. Even as a conference builder/tune up, this is a joke. I would have preferred going on the road as a major underdog. Is losing by 50 to say LSU on the road that different from beating Howard by 100 at home?

  15. There is Flutie at QB for BC on the field and he completes a pass!!

  16. I'm a diehard. I'm watching this on my PC and watching other games on the TV. I may head out for a run in the 2nd half, but I will still watch it on replay. I really want to check out the young players and the other QBs.

Florida State is going to be a significant challenge next week.

  17. I'm enjoying every second of this. I might actually watch it twice. If we don't try to score 100 I will lose a little respect for Daz.

  18. This is why it is good for Flutie to get snaps.

  19. flute goes deep! for 34! reminiscent of Eli Manning in Superbowl

  20. Flutie looks okay (given he's playing a high school team).

  21. Knoll seems to have a nice stroke and ball on the PAT... maybe he has psychologically recovered from the PSU debacle

  22. um-believable re Auburn!

  23. The game is being shortened to 2 10 minute quarters.

  24. What did we learn today?

  25. Having sat through every agonizing second of every loss for the last 36 years, I thoroughly enjoyed watching all of today's game. What did we learn? That both Flutie and Smith are for real. The stable of running backs looks great. The defense is voraciously hungry. Key to FSU game will be maturation of O-line. Too mis-matches today to draw any conclusions.

  26. You just did. Don't understand.

  27. Against Howard. Come on. Flutie might be but nobody will know unless and until he plays a college team.

  28. Forgot to add: Pretty nice heading into week #3 without any injuries to starters or second string.

  29. I love the negativity.

  30. Just trying to understand that we learned something and then there were too many mismatches. Is that a me issue? Ok.

  31. No, not a me issue. I apologize for the negativity comment. Also my first post should have been clearer: I thought the offensive line so mismatched their D line that is was hard to draw any conclusions. Other than that, I thought we did learn some things, like QB smith is fast. For real. How much he will make of it will depend more on the blocks he gets, but he has the juice. As for defense, I said they were voraciously hungry. They were. The point really goes for the whole team. They didn't t schedule this game, they just had to play it. With every reason in the world to come out flat (i.e playing a crappy team, looking ahead to next week against FSU, etc) they come out and played inspired from start to finish. Pretty neat. Am enjoying the moment. Of course we will find out what this team is made of next week, but they looked great today. Peace.

  32. What did we learn? We learned that most of my fellow alums and commenters are just as soft as I remember you from college. Don't ever apply to work for me--you're too soft and you have no killer instinct. Take away from that game? We stomped the shit out of them. That's it. I'll watch a game like that any day of the week and twice on Sunday. On to FSU next week. The pink hat fans can join us next week if you'd like, but keep your voice down. You're annoying the shit out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ha. Wait. What? I hate winning by 76 because u learn nothing from tape and now I'm soft? You learn more from being challenged. I mean, maybe? Ha. Love this board.
