Every week seems like a new start to the season. We are now a month in and still don't know what to expect due to injuries and easy schedules. The offense has a lot to prove and so do the QBs. Let's hope they are up to the challenge.

Attendance is really bad. I can't figure out what is wrong in Chestnut Hill. Pro sports town I guess.
ReplyDeleteFlutie could not have been better.
ReplyDeleteNobody can catch a pass.
Going back to sleep in section CC
Not to mention he has the most beautiful dropbacks and throws perfect spirals every time. He runs with the grace of a gazelle and barks the pre-snap cadence like a drill sergeant. He's proven himself completely capable already. Thank God we beat out NO OTHER FBS SCHOOL to get him!
ReplyDeleteSmith!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese false starts are going to burst a blood vessel in Daz's head.
ReplyDeleteThose issues weren't Smith's fault. Keep him in for another drive.
ReplyDeleteThey need to put Willis back fielding punts. Sherm has killed BC with field position.
ReplyDeleteLook up who recruited Doug. Ignoramus.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much for Addazio to lose his mind on. The slip on the punt is the latest.
ReplyDeleteOffense is bad news
ReplyDeleteTOB is awful too
ReplyDeleteI acknowledge its a limited sample, but so far Smith has far more upside and explosiveness. He deserves more time. Even if he's just drawing plays in the dirt during the huddle.
ReplyDeleteDefense is grest
ReplyDeleteRun the option with Smith over and over. It will open things up.
ReplyDeleteFlutie better not be put in again like last time. He and the team have done nothing. The ball has actually moved forward with Smith at the helm.
ReplyDeleteWhy no short passes?
ReplyDeleteWhy do we not try short passes. HB dives and fly routes are not the answer. Even with a read option wrinkle.
ReplyDeleteAh the old transitive property of recruiting. And name calling. Well played sir.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I guess you're using the transitive property of last name for most of your arguments.
ReplyDeleteJust noticed it is TOB on the ESPN 3 feed.
ReplyDeleteThe first team that scores will probably be the only team that scores and will therefore win the game.
ReplyDeleteTOB couldn't be more dull.
ReplyDeleteThomas,
ReplyDeleteSarcasm eh. You just finish up with your therapist?
Can Daz adapt the game plan mid game? Short passes? More option outside?
ReplyDeleteDoubt it
ATL. Yes TOB sucks any fun out of game.
ReplyDeleteWhat a f'ing drag to listen to
IMO Addazio is handling this in the worst way possible. No one is getting in a rhythm.
ReplyDeleteFlutie!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice we fooled them!
ReplyDeleteTD
That was a great play call. Fitch finally found page 2 of the playbook
ReplyDeleteLooking on twitter, I realize I am behind on ESPN3. Good drive.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Flutie makes Charlie Calinan look like Charlie Brennan
ReplyDeleteFeels great to hear "Flutie" and "touchdown" together for the first time in 30 years.
ReplyDeleteThat play has been there for awhile. I counted 10 Huskies in the box earlier in the drive.
I feel bad for the BC D. They deserve better.
ReplyDeleteKeep it on the ground with Smith. It should and can be that simple.
ReplyDeleteAddazio is in full clock killing mode. You can't do that with over 2 minutes with the other team possessing 3 timeouts.
ReplyDeleteSpaz, err,Daz trying to run out clock with 2 minutes to go
ReplyDeleteDanny boy. Our comments are in synch!
ReplyDeleteFlute needed to just fall down there. At least make them call a timeout.
ReplyDeleteThe pic-almost-6 spooked Daz
ReplyDeleteATL carrying the comments today. A jack of all trades.
ReplyDeleteNothing Flutie has done has earned him the remainder of the snaps. Get Smith more touches in the option.
ReplyDeleteDaz is so friggin' risk averse
ReplyDeleteLame
ReplyDeleteThat was not a well coached offensive half. Terrible.
ReplyDeleteWhat a dumpster fire of a end of half plan. Kill clock. Then allow NIU to run the play clock down. Then call a timeout to get the ball back. Run a hurry up offense, clock the ball, followed by a draw to close out. They changed their mind on the end goal 5 different times in there. Awful.
ReplyDeleteWhat horrible horrible clock management. What a horrible decision to keep trotting Flutie out there. Put Smith in and do the option. Couldn't be easier.
ReplyDeleteDaz is a dumb in-game coach. Truly
ReplyDeleteDon't have a good feeling and crowd is dead.
ReplyDeleteWe have a dog fight folks. This team nearly upset the mighty Buckeyes last week. Offense cannot make mistakes in the second half (interception, false starts). Defense can't do much more. Forced a turnover, held NIU to just 2 first downs and 40 yards. I know there were at least 2 sacks by the Connors.
ReplyDeleteI don't have much to say about the QB situation. Smith ran well, but Flutie put up the seven points. On the other hand, Flutie gave the Huskies 7 points. Neither is going to take us very far this season. Too bad as we have the defense to win the Atlantic.
BJK-might be time to lead an "Eagles on the warpath" cheer.
ReplyDeleteDaz: it's time to see your half time adjustments. Ha! None
ReplyDeleteFlutie hasn't done anything! Why is he still in there? Another 3 and out!
ReplyDeleteAh, Daz, I said adjustments. Not "never change"
ReplyDeleteThe vibe is awful now.
ReplyDeleteSo in the world of BC contrary logic. We win by 21!
Actually I think TOB might be pretty decent as a commentator on the 11th hole of a Champions Tour event.....
ReplyDeleteNot a good drive by the D. They were saved by the horrible field goal. Probably a game saving miss for BC.
ReplyDeleteDon brown out smarted himself that drive.
ReplyDeleteGot lucky with missed fG
Mojo shifts. BC to get in gear.
Smith smith smith
Daz gun shy on the pass
ReplyDeleteIs Willis hurt?
ReplyDeleteThis is the most stubborn play calling I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteNice. I am wrong!
ReplyDeleteBC had limited talent, can't you see this. That being said look at what good coaching can do :see Michigan. Held BYU who is ranked to 0 points and 90 yds of offense. BC has below avg players and avg coaching at best. Why some of you are so devoted to watching this junk is bizarre. Go outside, spend time with the family. BC isn't really worth it. I am not even watching the game, just read comments here to find out what's going on.
ReplyDeleteBc1900. It may be limited but more talent than NIU
ReplyDeleteYou can't keep running up the middle on first down. Mix it up.
ReplyDeleteI just feel the electricity on the field when Smith is under center. It's just a matter of time till something pops off.
ReplyDeletefinally a nice run from Hilliman.
ReplyDeleteBC playbook over/under 5 pages? i'm taking the under.
Like that.
ReplyDeleteFlutie lost a shoe and called his own sub in. He then Did not see field rest of drive. Is like Wally pip calling in Lou Gehrig.
ReplyDeleteTD and great running plays
ReplyDeleteLook what happens when Smith is in. The extra running threat opens things up in the middle.
ReplyDeleteI feel better now - Hillliman is getting his groove.
ReplyDeleteRouse hurt on that play.
Darn, Rouse is concussed. Down another offensive player.
ReplyDeletejesus that did not look good for Rouse.
ReplyDeleteDefense now looking shaky. Let's settle down guys.
ReplyDeleteSmith opens things up just with the threat of the run.
ReplyDeleteSmith opens things up just with the threat of the run.
ReplyDeleteSmith opens things up just with the threat of the run.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone know why Willis has no carries? he looked like the best RB last week.
ReplyDeleteWe have to pull this out. Parents crowd filing out already. Many empty seats on the 50 yard line. Pitiful.
ReplyDeleteATL 3x for effect!
ReplyDeleteHilliman is getting his legs under him. I say let him get his confidence back. Normally though, I'd be calling for way more Willis touches. I think he should be 50/50 for carries with Hilliman, with Outlow seeing some time as well.
ReplyDeleteDefense needs to stiffen. Seems to be letting down wall of iron. They'll do it.
ReplyDeletePic 6 requested !
A blocked punt is almost as good.
ReplyDeleteBlock punt
ReplyDeleteJust as good
huge. gotta get some points here.
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteHuge by Milano.
ReplyDeleteYou can have the greatest defense known to man and get worn out if you, u know, can't matriculate the ball down the field.
ReplyDeleteBJK-are u there? What was attendance like?
ReplyDeleteQB draw on 3rd and 18??? Huh?
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteWell, that's probably the end of the Jeff smith experiment today.
ReplyDeleteThe offense is going to cost us several losses this year. You have to get points when you get that deep in enemy territory. To come out with zero points and then hit the punt in the endzone is not good for my nerves.
ReplyDeleteGet that Pic!
ReplyDeleteNow!
Eagle Boston are you saying that you have to score points to win ? No way
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSmith's mistake wasn't as bad as Flutie's.
ReplyDeleteCt - yes, I am here. Probably 35k - beautiful football day.
ReplyDeleteCrowd kind of wine and cheesey. Players must win in spite of some strange coaching calls.
Smith needs all the snaps. He's gonna break one soon.
ReplyDeleteis Rouse back in the game???
ReplyDeleteSwitching mid-drive is a terrible idea.
ReplyDeleteAddazio is going to get flak for putting Rouse back in, i can see it now.
ReplyDeletewhy would we change QB mid drive?
First down Rouse, burns more clock.
ReplyDeleteSmith's running has huge upside.
ReplyDeletethe odds of Addazio "playing it safe" here to go for a FG, and BC missing the FG, are probably like 85%
ReplyDeleteStupid 3 plays with the wrong players on the field.
ReplyDeleteplayed it safe - check
ReplyDeletemissed FG - [ to be determined ]
why is Smith out of the game ????
Run up middle ???? Not good.
ReplyDeletePhew!
ReplyDeleteholy cow. Lichtenberg's first career FG, from the hash, right down the middle. he should be kicking the rest of the year.
ReplyDeletehallelujah. up 10, NIU has no timeouts. another incredible defensive performance.
FG good and 10k fans file out.
ReplyDeleteI bet Daz would never bungee jump.
ReplyDeleteI said first to 10 wins!
ReplyDeletei still can't believe Rouse was put back in the game. clearly knocked out on that FG. announcers didn't even mention it. someone wake TOB up.
ReplyDelete*on that kickoff
ReplyDeleteclassic. good job playing it safe to settle for the FG and then give up the return TD. ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteHoly fuck.
ReplyDeleteAm I watching the Giants
Just the way Daz drew it up. Now we can run three dives into the line and burn a whole minute off the clock.
ReplyDeleteBC can never make it easy under Addazio.
ReplyDeleteLitchenberg era starts and quickly ends!
ReplyDeleteBC is handing this game away.
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't Howell kicking??
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - the fans who have left in droves suck. They suck!
ReplyDeleteThose 3 dufus calls on first and goal had better not come back to haunt us.
Wrong player package on the field.
Going up 2 scores and trying to hold on for the rest of the game is awful.
ReplyDeleteYikes. We're good at running up the middle though. Piece of cake. Put it in the books.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Hilliman? Is he hurt?
ReplyDeleteThis is becoming an out and out disaster.
Why the fuck is Smith not in there in an obvious run situation? 3 garbage calls on offense. Just handing the game away.
ReplyDeletethis has been a truly perplexing game.
ReplyDeleteAddazio deserves to lose.
ReplyDelete~ 2:20 left for NIU to score an FG
ReplyDeleteNeed to get to BC 30
Ugghh
Playing it safe with flutie, I can almost understand. Almost. But leaving our best RB on the bench so our clearly concussed 3rd backup can run is inexcusable.
ReplyDeleteShank punt. This is laughable.
ReplyDeletei'll say it before this NIU drive starts - 100% we lose this game, and its 100% on addazio.
ReplyDeletePlaying a nice prevent defense basically too. Good lord.
ReplyDeleteNow they need 10 yards
ReplyDeleteGood lord
is Spaz coaching this game? holy freaking cow. bend dont break D now!
ReplyDeleteOh Jesus.
ReplyDeleteDaniels!! C'mon!! You have to get that INT!
ReplyDeleteDaz has quickly morphed into Spaz.
ReplyDeleteThat was ugly on ten different levels.
ReplyDeleteThank God. BC ball. No timeouts.
ReplyDeleteWhen they're aggressive on defense, NIU has zero chance. About damn time.
ReplyDeleteSp-d-az
ReplyDeleteThank you D-E-F-E-N-S-E
ReplyDeletethank god i'm wrong. what an absolute meltdown. just an embarrassing embarrassing game from the coaching staff. an F. players played well. line opened up holes. defense was outstanding. Hilliman ran hard. Smith made plays.
ReplyDeletethe Flutie rotation was a joke. that "coaching" at the end of the 1st half and 2nd half, i mean, seriously a freshman up on Newton hitting "ask madden" would do a better job. pathetic!
truly thought Spaz was coaching there. playing "not to win" football. running it straight up the middle time and again. taking Smith out after he marches us down the field. going into the prevent defense. what the hell was going on there?
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see who in the press gets after Daz. Anyone?
ReplyDeleteTOB took awhile to get going; but he had an interesting insight at the end of the game; i.e., Flutie was in under center because Smith was not as comfortable taking the snaps that way. Many high school star quarterbacks take only shotgun or pistol snaps.
ReplyDeleteAlso, with our center not being set due to injury, the longer snaps seems to be an adventure, especially for Smith.
Hi
