Yes, ATL, there is still some hope. That is , of course, until you stop and think about Daz's inability to make adjustments in game and Bobby Petrino's ability to coach...
Boy, the D really played well. Johnson was awesome including the punt block. Milano, Daniels, and Abdesmad really are earning their keep. Gutapel and Wojo are great. Justin Simmons deserved that up for grab interception. I am impressed. As for the offense, that is a different story. The Boston Herald interviewed Daz. He said that it was just a matter of getting more experience. Smith is like a "deer in the headlights". If they had an offensive minded coordinator, I would say that Robinson would be the best of the lot. All of the quarterbacks including Flutie look terrible. Obviously, they need to change the offense and bring in a new coordinator. Total yards for the half toward the end was 26 yards. I am not sure of the final tally. As stated by many, you cannot have a running only offense against a 10 or 11 man defensive line.
How bad is this O line? What's most disheartening is there's absolutely no evidence of coaching led improvement on offense. This offense practices against our defense? Has to be the Miami Dolphins take it easy on these guys approach.
You don't need a first down there. Just get 6 so 4th is easier. Because punts go in the end zone like that. Hope that Smith is he's,thy enough to come back.
Why do we play call like we have something to lose? Run Run Pass gives Flutie no chance at success. Drives me insane. What is insane I am blowing my Saturday watching this.
On what basis did they possibly think that third down run would work? First down, eight yards on a pass. Pass again? Nah, get stuffed twice in a row and then punt it. Pathetic.
Terrible. I am so tired of this. Bring on all the criticism you want my way. I wish Daz could be fired. This is year 3. Having no receivers, QB and tight ends is his fault. Penalties are a reflection of coaching. I don't want to hear youth nor injuries. Worst offense in FBS football and worst team in ACC. Face it, Wade was not going to be much better with the combination of talent and play calling. The bad news is we have at least 2-3 more years of this. Boy I hope I am wrong. Go Temple and Matt Rhule. Are they winning because of Daz or in spite of it? That team looked far more well coached.
Now 10 men and a Timeout? Why can't Brad Bates see this and admit what a mistake this hire was. These are major coaching mistakes, not players or youth. Not being prepared is embarrassing.
louisville is probably going to punt away here. bc will be down 3 with the ball and needs to score. and i am extremely comfortable saying that bc will not score any points.
I have serious concerns about Daz as the HC of this team. He seems confused and panicky in tight games when he should be the calm leader. The O line has shown no improvement and i don't see where any of the QB's are potentially adequate. I am trying to be positive but this offense truly historically bad. Thank god for the Defense. they deserve a better fate. I don't see another win. Daz needs a major upgrade in his recuiting or we are doomed for a few more years of mediocrity at best. Heck even Toledo is in the top 25 Aghhhhh.
He would not be the first coach in history to decide to play younger players in a sort of rebuilding year. However, if he goes on about what freshman can't do, and doesn't take ownership on his decision to play them, then I'm really beginning to doubt whether he is a long term answer.
Howell punted 12 times for an average of 42.3. Smith was hurt and fumbled at the goal line. Louie Daz actually scored the touchdown. Smith looks like he has had enough. I don't know enough about Flutie but he does add an extra dimension. The pass was low under pressure but Robinson should have had it. So, Flutie goes in and he hands the ball off against an 11 man line. Something has to be done now. With a liability of 13 million for 5 more years, Brad Bates has painted BC into a corner.

I'm not sure why, but Smith seems to trust the hell out of Dudek. Almost all of his completions are to Dudek.
ReplyDeleteAnd Louie addazio needs to stop killing us.
Stephen Daniels making money today.
ReplyDeleteWonder how good a corner Smith would be.
ReplyDeleteYikes. Behind the 8 ball.
ReplyDeleteIt just seems like Louisville has more players on the field than we do. Someone is missing blocks out there.
ReplyDeleteThat man-to-man coverage is killing us.
ReplyDeleteBrown really loves his corners. Too much?
ReplyDeleteQ1 in the books
ReplyDeleteBC rushing 1 yard!
Passing 15
total 16
Holy shiesta,
The running game is the key. If we cannot run, we have no hope.
ReplyDeleteWe got lucky with that spot.
ReplyDeleteWe need points on this drive.
ReplyDeleteThat's not on smith. He had half of Louisville in his face immediately. The line needs to block better.
ReplyDeleteOk enough of the Jeff Smith experiment. Every recruiter other than Addazio didn't want him as a QB. Dazzling brilliance.
ReplyDeleteAt least our offense is responsible for at least one score!

ReplyDelete#73 Sam Schmal is terrible... often
ReplyDeletea block
ReplyDeletea TD
awesome
There it is!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome and what we should be doing on all special teams!!!
ReplyDeletewhy does the announcer keep say Steve knows "No bowl" must be what he told them
ReplyDeleteoffense 2Q
ReplyDeleterushing -17 yards.
I wonder if Al Golden is fired at halftime.
ReplyDeletecrazy at Miami 42-0 giving up almost 400 yards in a half
ReplyDelete#81 is little Daz. penalty
ReplyDeleteThat's two bad penalties on baby Daz today.
ReplyDeleteLouisville knew that last play. All the linemen stayed back and didn't pursue smith.
Bad offensive half, yet BC still has a chance. The O has to do something.
ReplyDelete199 yards vs 36
ReplyDelete-12 yards rushing
so much for the glimmers of hope i thought i saw for BC Offense in Clemson game
just terrible, terrible offense
Not hard to defend all 6 of our plays.
ReplyDeleteYes, ATL, there is still some hope.
ReplyDeleteThat is , of course, until you stop and think about Daz's inability to make adjustments in game and Bobby Petrino's ability to coach...
hope still spring eternal
Go Eagles
Wake gave up 28 in the first half today.
ReplyDeleteThough Petrino is an awful human, he's a helluva coach.
ReplyDeleteExcept in Atlanta

ReplyDeleteDefense hanging in there. A little rest would help them.
ReplyDeleteYeah, completely agree. The Oline is not good. Hard to judge Smith when he's playing his second game with this line.
ReplyDeleteya! fumble
ReplyDeleteput this in the EZ
good god... this play calling is just INSANE
ReplyDeleteexcept the TD!
ReplyDeletewho wa!!!
Smith hurt??
ReplyDeleteWe might be on the war path.
ReplyDeleteF-L-U-T-I-E
ReplyDeleteSmith must be hurt?
ReplyDeleteYou don't need a first down there. Just get 6 so 4th is easier. Because punts go in the end zone like that. Hope that Smith is he's,thy enough to come back.
ReplyDeleteSquandered field position with predictable unimaginative play calling. 3rd and long obvious pass play. Ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteWhy do we play call like we have something to lose? Run Run Pass gives Flutie no chance at success. Drives me insane. What is insane I am blowing my Saturday watching this.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, It looked like flutie audibles to the HB dove on 2nd down.
ReplyDeleteHorrendous play call. Everyone in the stadium knew what was coming.
ReplyDeleteOn what basis did they possibly think that third down run would work? First down, eight yards on a pass. Pass again? Nah, get stuffed twice in a row and then punt it. Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteAt this point our OC should just watch other teams, and steal their plays for our playbook.
ReplyDeleteTerrible. I am so tired of this. Bring on all the criticism you want my way. I wish Daz could be fired. This is year 3. Having no receivers, QB and tight ends is his fault. ReplyDeleteAddazio's offense is crap. Last year was a anomaly with Murphy, Williams and 5 graduate students for an O line.
ReplyDeleteGreat pik!
Yeah. Flutie just looks more in control.
ReplyDeleteAddazio is inept. Illegal substitution. Is this pop warner?
ReplyDeleteNice to see Beerfart join us.
ReplyDeleteNow 10 men and a Timeout? Why can't Brad Bates see this and admit what a mistake this hire was. These are major coaching mistakes, not players or youth. Not being prepared is embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteMore disorganization the sideline, again.
ReplyDeleteLes Miles would've been fired long ago with u guys.
ReplyDeleteGot em right where we want em.
ReplyDeletelouisville is probably going to punt away here. bc will be down 3 with the ball and needs to score. and i am extremely comfortable saying that bc will not score any points.
ReplyDeleteThey will not win another game this year.
ReplyDeleteBC isn't going to get the ball back. You kinda have to go for it there with only 1 timeout.
ReplyDeleteI'd hate BC to have such a terrible football coach like Les Miles. Year 3. 9-4. Year 3 at LSU- 12-2. Yep.

Geezo. Petrino really annunciates, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteGeesh the defense bails then out again and it will probably be wasted again ala Wake
ReplyDelete7 sacks
ReplyDeleteThis offense is comically horrible. Did they even get 100 total yards this game? What a joke.
ReplyDeleteAt least we beat Las Vegas! Does that count like beating Howard and Maine? Progress!
ReplyDeleteWho is the idiot that mentioned the Daz and Les Miles in the same sentence? Probably the same moron who thinks BC has a great game day experience.
ReplyDeleteDaz will see this as a moral victory.
ReplyDeletelost his QB
yet team of freshman was "always in the game" Very Spaz like standard
Barf
Daz really sucks
I see Flutie starting.
ReplyDeleteATL, you gotta start picking the opposing team to win in your prediction. change the mojo. all of the blame is on you.
ReplyDelete4 first downs, 79 yards total offense. That is Baylor's first drive in most games. Offensive genius that Daz is.
ReplyDeleteI see mod saying the same thing 22 times.
ReplyDeleteFitch needs help.
ReplyDeleteArguably the worst team out of all power conferences.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThis defense would be ok in the SEC. With a decent offense.
ReplyDeleteCT STFU
ReplyDeleteWe might have three or four guys on defense who could play on Sundays.
ReplyDeleteI have serious concerns about Daz as the HC of this team. He seems confused and panicky in tight games when he should be the calm leader. ReplyDeleteThis is like the movie Groundhog Day, but not as much fun. D nearly saves the day, O (and play calling) is cosmically inept.
ReplyDelete
