  1. Good riddance to this season.

    ReplyDelete
  2. what channel in boston?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh no. Smith gets the start. He's horrid.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Defense allowing too many 3rd down conversions.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Joseph game is on NESN ch 51 on my service

    ReplyDelete
  6. Illegal formation? That's on the coaches.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Horrible pass by Smith. You can't have fullbacks reaching back for the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I wish Rouse played all year like he plays against Syracuse.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I wish Tyler Rouse had the holes all year that he's gotten so far against Syracuse. He's always given 100%.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Rouse always shows up for the Syracuse games. I wonder if we can rent the Carrier Dome for games next season?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't know why Syracuse does not throw every play.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Rouse looks like Barry Sanders against this defense. Bernie Sanders against everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  13. What's with the ball busting of Tyler Rouse? The guy hasn't gotten five blocks all season.

    ReplyDelete
  14. These zebras are throwing a flag every play.

    ReplyDelete
  15. it's not ball-busting. He just seems to elevate his game against cuse. It's not the yards he's getting due to blocks, but the elusiveness. He's shaking defenders and breaking tackles at a seemingly higher rate.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nice drive by the BC defense.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The refs are going to have to ice their throwing shoulders by half time at this rate.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What was that - 45 of the 59 yard drive were from penalties.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The D got ate up on that drive. They know our offense can't score so they can't play like this if we hope to have an ACC win. Watching this team this year has been frustrating. I can't wait for Addazio to burn yet another 3rd quarter timeout in a close game.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Love Walker! Reminds me of the old Falcon Tim Dwight.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 2 corners out and we don't take advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Flipping block O-line!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Horrendous football. I think the 2-10 2012 BC team beats this years team.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am just amazed at the creative play calling by Fitch and Addazio - run on 1st and 2nd and then try to throw on third when the "D" is bringing the house. This play calling MUST STOP !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Surprising run up the middle x 2.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't care that Smith isn't the second coming of Tom Brady, but the kid can throw better than Addazio lets him.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Danny Boy

I'm calling bullshit on the "Rouse always elevates his game against 'cuse". As a freshman he ran 3 times for a total of 7 yards. As a sophomore, he had 9 carries for 59 yards, 42 of them on one carry.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 67 blocked no one on that play. Amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yep. Great sequence.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Smith is awful. He just cannot move the ball. I'm guessing Fadule is recovering from a concussion, so I guess we are stuck with him.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Watching our offense is very frustrating. The play selection is so limited that the scheme dooms itself - 3 of 4 three and outs.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How about a play action fake INTO THE MIDDLE and the quick pass to Sweeney slipping in over the linebackers who are in tight. This is PAINFUL - Is Addazio stubborn or STUPID ?????

    ReplyDelete
  33. Run.
    Run.
    (Try to) Pass.
    Punt.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That 59 yards was more than 25% of his yearly production (and he averaged an extra yard per carry). That's elevating his game. He has 70 yards already today. That is almost 25% of his yearly total this year and is running an extra 1.5 yards per carry. These games are statistical outliers. That's all I'm saying. It's not a knock on the kid.

    ReplyDelete
  35. EB, they dumb down the playbook for him. The first couple drives had new plays we haven't seen all year, and they worked. Now we're back to dives. Let him run the read option. Let him throw a play action pass. The coaches are handcuffing him and hat clearly isn't working.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Who is 67? That's two straight 3rd downs where he's doing he least amount of blocking possible.

    ReplyDelete
  37. This is a joke. I am not sure if I can recall such pathetic play calling. I feel sorry for the players. They deserve so much better than is.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Danny, I totally agree. There is no creativity in this offense. How about a screen pass to slow down the pass rush? How about the aforementioned play-action to Sweeney. This is just horrific play calling. Here's another idea, Walker gets 30 yards on every kick return. Can we insert him in the offense and get him the ball where he can make plays?

    ReplyDelete
  39. So predictable. So one dimensional. So painful

    ReplyDelete
  40. Our offensive coaching in terms of play selection is pitiful - disgraceful might be a better word.

    ReplyDelete
  41. #67 is Aaron Monteiro, a true freshman.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks, EB. At 336, I hope it's just that he's playing out of position and he's learning the tackle job after being used to guard. He's not having a good game. At least there is nowhere to g but up for him.

    ReplyDelete
  43. God, Smith is a horrow show.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well guess we know why we don't throw more

    ReplyDelete
  45. No timeout there. Just take a knee now.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Where is 72 Jim Cashman? The offensive line has been mismanaged from the get go this year.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Absolute disgrace that the coach did not call time out when they stopped Syracuse on downs with almost 2 minutes left in the half and still had all three timeouts left. They are winless in the ACC. They are going nowhere. They are not receiving the second half kickoff. Don't you want to win the game? Are you kidding me?! It puts the exclamation point on how inept the coach of this team is.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 80 yards in offense; 89 yards in penalties for BC - and for the first time in 8 games, Syracuse has the lead at halftime.

In all seriousness, we will be fortunate to win this game. We are terrible on offense - worst I have ever seen, I think. Can't remember one worse.

    ReplyDelete
  49. this team is so bad. the "false start, numerous players on boston college" may have been the lowlight in a half where we had 8 penalties for 89 yards.

Smith is 0 for 5 with 2 INT. play calling just brutal. i never thought it could possibly be as bad as Tranquill but this is outrageous - you can guess by the way they line up what is coming 90% of the time. i have a feeling we lose this one.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1960s fan - thought the same thing. just a pathetic and meek showing from a coach who is all bluster.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The worst BC coach I have seen in my 50 years of watching this team when it comes to play calling, game plans and decision making in pressure situations. A big reason why they are drawing less than 30,000 to home games.

    ReplyDelete
  52. we're down by 3 and i actually feel as though it might as well be 20. as much as i liked the emotion that daz brought to the table when hired it's starting to wear thin. he constantly gives the impression by his facial expressions that all the problems on the field are not his fault but rather the kids that HE has coached and recruited. BAD FORM.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I happen to disagree with people who are complaining about Jeff Smith and his inability to pass. If they called a proper creative game , he would have a little time to hit a receiver !!! I am sure of this fact !!! THIS COACHING STAFF HAS STIFLED THE OFFENSE WITH THEIR PATHETIC PLAYCALLING !!!!! And please - next , you will be saying that there are no receivers. WRONG . How about the catch in the end zone by Callanan in the Notre Dame game. BC passes so infrequently and only when the other team knows the pass is coming !!! I will say again - PLAY ACTION FAKE ON 1ST DOWN and THE QUICK PASS TO SWEENEY or CALLAHAN and maybe you will reconsider the ability of Jeff Smith and his receivers who MOST SAY ARE TERRIBLE. Next year will be more of same , but you probably will not have the dominant defense to bail you out since you will be SOOOOO much smaller in the "D" line.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bates has to be on hot seat with Addazio next year. This is a complete embarrassment to BC. How can a offensive unit be as poorly developed as this years team. QB situation is beyond deplorable. If offensive unit was anything but worst in country team would be bowl eligible with our defense.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Is it always poor play calling or calling the ONLY plays that have any chance for yards? The o=line is terrible and just stands arond half the time. Smith can't throw and makes bad decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well you are 3 and 8, on the brink of losing 8 in a row and 0 and 8 in the ACC.

What do you do? Let's get the running game going. Fadule is out of the game.

Let's hold them on defense and get the running game going.

    Good plan, coach. Let's roll.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Watching this game at this particular point with Syracuse knocking on the door - I will be totally shocked if we win this game.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Game over. BC offense is completely incapable of coming back from 2 scores down.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The only thing good about this game is the hot MILF in the Viagra ads.

    ReplyDelete
  60. It is pretty sad - JOSEPH - the QB stinks , receivers stink - the O-Line stinks , but where does the COACHING STAFF RANK ??? They are GENIUSES - all Addazio does is complain about the players. How does Don Brown have success - HE GIVES THE "D" A CREATIVE GAME PLAN and TERRIFIC SCHEMES !!! I am done posting !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. has BC ever gone through a game with zero pass completions?

Did Daz say Smith was playing well??

    ReplyDelete
  62. For all the bloggers who thought this would definitely be a BC victory, I have to laugh.

Hey coach - down 10 and the D is finally ready to give up the ship if you don't do something on offense.

Let's run it up the middle.

    Where is Myles Willis?

    ReplyDelete
  63. God, walker sets us up with fantastic field position every time. Now if only our coaches had the desire to use it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Whew, got away with a block in the back by Wofford on the Smith run.

    ReplyDelete
  65. wow! high powered BC offense!

    who knew

    ReplyDelete
  66. Speaking of Walker, can't we get him the ball more often?

    ReplyDelete
  67. How do you line up wrong on a kickoff. Coaches, please coach for God's sake!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lol Joseph trolling as usual. Only you can see things through those rose colored glasses.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wow, Clemson struggling with South Carolina. Hope they can hold on.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Man, Smith just cannot throw the ball. That pass was 12 feet in the air. Who can catch that?

    ReplyDelete
  71. This teams record won't be better without significant improvement in qb play

    ReplyDelete
  72. Robinson. drop... again

    ReplyDelete
  73. 12th game, 10 penalties. Solid coaching and real improvement since opening game. If you believe that then you believe BC's motto of Ever to Excel.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Syracuse is last in pass defense and we can't complete a single pass.

    ReplyDelete
  75. EB - who is wojack? what?

    Wujciak, Connor is Woe-JACK

    ReplyDelete
  76. BC's pass routes would have Tom Brady struggle to complete 50%. Do they ever throw short slants over middle? Need 10 yards, let's throw it 30 yards in air to sideline with tiny window to drop pass in to.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Smith 0-10 with 2 pics. could that be the worst pass line for QB?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Let's see what we are made of.

Up the middle behind a line that can't block?

It might catch The Orange off guard though.

    ReplyDelete
  79. At this point, the read option should be 100% of our offense.

    ReplyDelete
  80. How about Tyler Rouse up the middle on first down? they will never suspect it...

    ReplyDelete
  81. BC should go for it. What do they have to lose?

    ReplyDelete
  82. There's the blown timeout I was looking for. Nice going, Addazio, now you only have 2 in a very close game. You are putting a 2-minute drill at risk.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Mod, I was making fun of the announcer. He called him Connor Woe-jack.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Daz will be thrilled with OT loss.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Addazio is setting up for the field goal.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Kid has balls.

    ReplyDelete
  87. How many dropped passes is that now? A 5th grader could have caught that one. No one was near him. And why hasn't Lichtenberg been kicking all year?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Would be something if the defense let Syracuse drive down the field because they insist on only rushing three damn people.

    ReplyDelete
  89. this is looking really ugly now

#1 defense collapses on last drive of year

    BLOCK THAT KICK

    BLOCK THAT KICK...

    ReplyDelete
  90. Why is Addazio not calling timeouts?

    ReplyDelete
  91. If BC loses it will be first 9 game losing streak since 1978.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Well - too bad. We need a miracle.

We couldn't hold them 2 years ago either.

    ReplyDelete
  93. And Addazio, you are officially on the hot seat. Produce or perish in 2016.

    ReplyDelete
  94. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Will BC players react in similar warm fashion when Daz is fired next year? Doubt it?

    ReplyDelete
  96. What a joke. Daz finds new and improved ways to lose games. Who would have thought the defense would give it up after the offense and specials teams tied the game late? Can't wait to get rid of this buffoon.

    ReplyDelete
  97. "yeah, you know even though we didn't win a game in the ACC this year and I have been here for three years now, i really believe in our future. what do you expect? our guys are young. Experience is everything and I believe we will bring college football mania back to Boston and Fenway to the point where the green monster will read 'we are BC' instead of 'We are ND'!"

    - Addazio 11/28/2015

    ReplyDelete
  98. almost a great win against a truly outstanding syracuse team. looking forward to next year. we are truly on the cusp of having a loosing dynasty

    ReplyDelete
  99. Any other legitimate BCS school and major changes with entire athletic department would be made. Bates, Addazio and entire operation should be on notice or we should drop to Patriot League with Holy Cross

    ReplyDelete
  100. Howell ends up with 92 punts, 2nd in nation and easily the most in major 5 conferences. Historically anemic offense.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Who are the idiots that pay $10k for a parking spot to tail gate and watch this crap? Classic enablers.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I am really at a loss for words that this happened to our team this year. It's one thing to struggle because of holes in the roster due to Spaziani, etc. But this was uncalled for.

0 and 8 ( 0 and 9 when including ND) and it indeed is the worst since 1978. We are DFL in the ACC and I don't like it and I didn't expect it.

Coaching was horrible - mismanagement of players on O-Line and WR all year. Wrong players on the field at critical times on and on.

Very disappointed in the performance of Head Coach Steve Addazio.

I have no expectations for next year now - none.

    ReplyDelete
  103. BC 126th of 128 teams in total yards from scrimmage for season.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Scott Shafer was fired because he sucked as football coach

yet He beat Daz and has a better record than Daz.

    What's that make Daz?

    ReplyDelete
  105. My 12 year old son, they need to fire adazzio, he runs a high school offense

    ReplyDelete
  106. Enough is enough, time to fire this A -Hole. How can this team continually bungle game after game? Where were the Smith option plays in the first half? I guess they added them during halftime. CLOWNSHOES.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Even high school offenses are more creative. Daz runs a Pop Warner offense where the qbs are too young to be able to throw well.

    ReplyDelete
  108. The question is, why did Smith even start if they weren't going to run the read option much in the first half? Fadule would have been the better option to run that crap they called offenses in the first half.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Fadule did not pass concussion protocol.

    ReplyDelete
  110. "The question is, why did Smith even start if they weren't going to run the read option much in the first half? Fadule would have been the better option to run that crap they called offenses in the first half."

"fadule did not pass concussion protocol"

BB its just so unfortunate man! the fact that we are resorting to even this level of discussion, wow. yeah, the reason we lost the game and couldn't pass was because our walk on back up back up backup freshman quarterback did not pass concussion protocol. this is a legitimate excuse now. holy cow.

how the HELL did we fall off the map so hard.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Jerz, I was merely informing Bravesbill why Fadule did not play in this game. I don't think anyone was using that as an excuse for not using Smith in the zone read.

    ReplyDelete
  112. of course man, i didn't mean to indict you at all.

i was just trying to point out how bad this whole scene is. what the heck has happened here.

    sorry about that

    ReplyDelete
  113. What a horrible team. Just imagine for a second if this squad had a QB who could complete 3/10 passes or a receiving unit that didnt drop 2/3 balls ... those four 3 point loss games and one 2 point loss might have been very different. That is the difference between 3-8 and 8-3. Don't worry though Adazzio has it all figured out with his read-option offense! Who needs QB's like Flutie, Foley, Hasselbeck, Ryan, etc. when you can have Darius Wade, Troy Flutie, Jeff Smith, etc?!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Watching both coaches on siseline s their behavior mirrors each other in their ability to make their players feel like shit. Two classless bums. Syracuse had the sense to recognize this; BC doesn't. Who wants to play for a coach that acts like a clown? Would you want your kid coaches by Addazio. Striving for mediocrity. We are back in the pre-Flutie days with shit teams.

BC beae two teams that some good high schools could have beaten. To be generous they are 1 and 9. Next year they have four cream puffs. With luck they can win two ACC games. They'll go to a bowl and Daz will get an extension.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Gotcha Jerz. Didn't catch that as I was catching the radio feed on and off for the first half. I guess that begs a different related question then. If Smith had to start, why wasn't the offense tailored to his strengths, i.e. the read option?

    ReplyDelete
  116. This situation is really on Bates. Based on his time at both Florida and Temple, Addazio is EXACTLY as advertised.

This sound familiar?: "Steve Addazio continues to call ultra conservative plays on offense as if he’s playing with the nation’s best defense that will win the game for him. Even last year, when we actually had that defense, it wasn’t a good philosophy (and it ended up costing us in the end)...We ran the ball 46 times against FSU, compared to 16 passes, in a 31-7 loss."... this was written by a Florida Gator fan/blogger on 11/30/2010.

I think Addazio has a knack for recruiting some reasonably talented, athletic players, but he's lost when it comes to preparing his team, in-game management and adjustments. He MUST bring in a solid OC like he has on the defensive side of the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Adazzio has one more year. If he flops like this again, he is gone ... if not, Bates should be gone. My biggest issue with him is this horrible offense he wants to implement. Is it not beyond obvious at this point that it will never work at BC where we have historically had huge dominant OLs and pro-style QB's?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Addazio in the post-game said they are going to a pro-style offense.

    ReplyDelete
  119. With what QB?...Wade is a 5'11 runner, Smith is a kick returner, Fadule should be at Bentley and Addazio clearly hates Flutie and will never give him a shot (just a note longest pass play TD of year came from Flutie then we never saw him again). So he is just setting up more excuses for next year, new offense, not right QB thou he has had 3 yrs to recruit one etc etc. Next year they might be worse because defense won't be as good. If we had a BCS AD and not a mid major one he would fire Addazio tomorrow like AD at Syracuse did.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Wade i heard isnt even a fast runner but more of a game manager.

number 1 defense in country and 0 ACC wins is bad... fitch is probably gone - daz should go but likey wont ... i am at a loss for coherent words ....... just terrible
