Early look at the early Bowl Projections

Many are predicting a bounce back year for BC. The schedule is easy. The ACC media picked them fifth in the division. A lot of national rankings have them in the 60 to 70 range. If they get to 6-6, there should be a bowl game in their future. Yet not all of the early Bowl Projections see it that way. SBNation left out BC. They have 10 ACC teams plus Notre Dame in the postseason. But no BC.

Athlon is more optimistic. They have BC playing in the Military Bowl...against Temple. I know I just wrote about the pointlessness of playing Temple, but in this case I wouldn't mind. You can't really control who your bowl opponent is. Plus I think playing a winnable game in a relatively close city is not a bad way to end the season. The Military Bowl is not exciting your recruits and fans, but one more win does. Addazio lost his previous two BC bowls against name schools. Where did that get us? Might as well get a win.

There will be plenty of Bowl projections to come as we approach the season. It makes for great filler. It also gives us a barometer of how outsiders view BC right now. Let's hope we can exceed expectations.

  1. Maybe it'd be best to win a conference game before we start thinking about a bowl game? Granted, with this schedule, we should be bowl-eligible. Part of that is because there are way too many bowl games but that's another discussion. A healthy Wade, Hilliman and a better O-line should make that happen.

  2. Going to a bowl with s 6-6 record would be an embarrassing travesty. Beating Wagner,? Really, guys,?

  3. Right now, Temple would be favored to beat BC, especially given that they have a much better coach than BC.

  4. What do you think our odds are of winning the national championship?

  5. Much worse than Leicester winning the EPL.

  6. Note the French school's schedule? They play 5 ACC teams: @Tex, Nev, MichSt, Duke, @Syr, @NCSt, Stan, Mia, @Nav, Arm, VT, @USC. Not a Wagner, Buffalo, or UMass among 'em. The game in Dublin will set the tone. Till then, the Dazzler has a pass. Even schools such as Missouri have a decent non conference schedule: W Vir, E. Mich, Del St, Mid Ten. Wagner is just unacceptable.

  11. Come on BCBC, you can do better than that. Mod uses facts and statistics to back up his opinions. You need to do better than just defame the guy. Come back with your own facts and numbers.

  19. Grew up going to the shaw, and loved it, but after spending the past 30+ summers in Rhoddy, I have to give it the nod. The Ocean state is aptly named.
