Off the bat, a huge dislike for the changes to the uniform. The stripes on the sleeves & pants are cheesy and distracting, especially on TV. Let's hope that is the worst thing about this season.
I am concerned with the penalties. 2 inexcusable offsides penalties and an illegal formation play. Can't do that when you are desperately searching for your first conference win in 2 years.
Someone should let Daz know if you want to grind it out, play good d, and be conservative you need an excellent kicking game. How does he not fix this?
Bravesbill, I don't have the problem with the play-calling on that drive. It was the execution that was the issue. If they generate some yards on the runs, they have 3rd and short instead of 3rd and long.
I didn't have a problem with the play calling until that third down screen. They actually mixed it up on first down and passed twice. That screen had zero chance though.
The defense, as with last year, started slow and then looked terrific. Much better play-calling on offense, just need to execute better. Kicking game and clock management still an issue. I think the only way we win this is if the D can force a couple turnovers.
i’m reluctant to judge Towles in a game where its been raining for hours, balls are heavy and field is slick. he looks like a shifty runner but not much of a passer -- all the throws seem to be a little off the mark and not a ton of zip.
not opposed to seeing Wade for a series just to see how he looks.
for a team that wants to run run run run, we seem to lack the big time running back. Hilliman just sort of plods along.
More proof that the "Daz" is a 275 pound loud mouth fraud. Talks tough, but coaches like a wuss. As usual, with game on the line, he goes into a shell, coaching not to lose rather than to win. Win or lose today, there is no real future with this clown in charge.
Off the bat, a huge dislike for the changes to the uniform. The stripes on the sleeves & pants are cheesy and distracting, especially on TV. Let's hope that is the worst thing about this season.
ReplyDelete"Myles Willis, the sophomore." Ah, he's a senior ESPN.
ReplyDeleteUniforms look fine.
I don't hate the uniforms like I thought I would.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. The uniforms don't bother me like I thought they would. And I love the Celtic knot work on the helmet stripe. Real nice touch.
ReplyDeletePlay calling feels super familiar though.
New season. Started off run run pass. Sure that caught GT off balance. Thank goodness for the penalty
ReplyDeleteIt has only been a few plays, but Towles does look athletic.
ReplyDeleteIt has been this long since BC won an ACC football game:
ReplyDelete55,641,600 seconds
927,360 minutes
15,456 hours
644 days
92 weeks
1 year, 9 months, 5 days
Go BC
Good start
ReplyDeleteWell until that
ReplyDeleteThat whole play seemed rush. The huddle, the subs, bad pass. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteHate ref Ron cherry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a drag
NO excuse of the offside penalty there. That is not mentally being prepared.
ReplyDeleteWell after a promising start, they revert back to last year's form.
ReplyDeleteLast play on offense was very disorganized. Daz was asking them to rush it. Why the surprise? Why were we not ready for that play
ReplyDeleteInt play was ok play. Poor execution by Towles
ReplyDeleteThe first drive was immensely better than last year. Lots of 3rd and shorts. Several first downs. We can build off of that.
ReplyDeleteCan't get off the damn field now either.
ReplyDeletePass coverage has been horrific so far.
ReplyDeleteIt's safe to say the secondary is pretty weak right now.
ReplyDeleteBad. You can't allow GT to pass like that. Not a good start on either side.
ReplyDeleteNot concerned yet. If you remember last season, the BC defense always started slow.
ReplyDeleteYou should be concerned. Even if they get better later they're going to be gassed. Spent half the quarter on the field there.
ReplyDeleteStrachan impressive
ReplyDeleteThat TD showed how we're going to miss Brown at DC. No way he leaves the perimeter that wide open.
ReplyDeleteMore creative play calling. Run run pass.
ReplyDeleteI am concerned with the penalties. 2 inexcusable offsides penalties and an illegal formation play. Can't do that when you are desperately searching for your first conference win in 2 years.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThat drive was not very reassuring. Towles looked rush. The Line looks just ok. GT doesn't respect our pass.
ReplyDeleteTowles made a bad decision there. 3rd and 9, you have to throw. I would give him one more drive and then see what Wade can do.
ReplyDeleteTowles has some happy feet too.
ReplyDeleteOL looks ok. Making some room for Hilliman and some time for Towles.
ReplyDeleteTowles needs to settle down
Deja vu
ReplyDeleteAfter first quarter performance Bates should give contract extensions to entire offensive coaching staff. Need that continuity.
ReplyDelete"We got a shot!" - Wagner Seahawks
ReplyDeleteThat was blitz they should have used on the last 3rd and 15. Keep it up
ReplyDeleteThat Defensive series was better.
ReplyDeleteStarchan. The new Kuechly
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. A pass on first down.
ReplyDeleteFather Charlie
ReplyDeleteA true first down! The game opens up once they started passing.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they stop passing?
ReplyDeleteWho is #6? No 6 on the roster.
ReplyDeletenice call with the screen
ReplyDeleteThe problems are different, but the Offense is still frustrating to watch.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was interference on the pass. BC needs to do better in the running game to set up shorter 3rd downs.
ReplyDeleteKicking game continues to struggle.
Why the f would you play for a FG on that third down when your kicking game flat out sucks?
ReplyDeleteShit.
ReplyDeleteLichentenberg is a punchline
ReplyDeleteNice job with the kicking game Daz....
ReplyDeleteThree damn years and still no kicking improvements.
ReplyDeleteA missed FG. I'm shocked!
ReplyDeletewss kick too low? Or was it bad line play. Thinking kick too low
ReplyDeleteSomeone should let Daz know if you want to grind it out, play good d, and be conservative you need an excellent kicking game. How does he not fix this?
ReplyDeleteBravesbill, I don't have the problem with the play-calling on that drive. It was the execution that was the issue. If they generate some yards on the runs, they have 3rd and short instead of 3rd and long.
ReplyDeleteAt least we don't have fat cheerleaders. Like GT.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a problem with the play calling until that third down screen. They actually mixed it up on first down and passed twice. That screen had zero chance though.
ReplyDeleteNice fucking hit by Schwab. Another in the line motherfuckers
ReplyDeleteThat screen would have made more sense if they were going to go for it on 4th down.
ReplyDeleteNice hit by Schwabe! Thomas is going to feel that.
ReplyDeleteWe have that...
ReplyDeleteThe Oscar Wilde statue looks like Bates! Ga
ReplyDeleteTowles still doesn't look that comfortable.
ReplyDeleteOL is giving him time.
ReplyDeleteOL certainly a major improvement over 2015
If Towles "were Tom Brady in the pocket" he wouldn't have transferred.
ReplyDeleteHe looks competent. After last season I will accept competent.
The roster numbers the team has online don't match the players numbers in the game.
ReplyDeleteI understand that it is wet, but Towles is not looking like a sharp passer so far.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteTowles has a weird throwing motion. It looks like he's actively pulling back on his release (like decelerating a golf swing).
ReplyDeleteWish he saw the RB underneath on that last 3rd down. Make the easy pass.
Blitz
ReplyDeleteWe need points here.
ReplyDeleteTime for a Walker punt return TD
ReplyDeleteGreat play by war daddy.
ReplyDeleteI quit if he calls a kick block and we get penalized here.
ReplyDeleteMy mistake. It looks like Rouse is the punt returner this season.
ReplyDeleteRouse has looked good on these punt returns. Thankfully they've left the fair catch at home.
ReplyDeleteThere he is.
ReplyDeleteClock management again an issue. Running with the clock ticking down.
ReplyDeleteThey need to use their trick play right now. Whatever it is. They need a fucking TD
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteOh fuck. Typical. What a disaster.
ReplyDeleteTowles already feels like a veteran BC QB.
ReplyDeleteStupid freaking game management there too.
ReplyDeleteTowles is costing BC the game so far
ReplyDeleteDarius Wade? Serious.
ReplyDelete0 points and under 50 passing yards at the half. Seems familiar.
ReplyDeleteI think he only had one option on that throw and it wasn't open.
ReplyDeletePlay sucked to.
Clock management issues again. Wow. We now know what we have with Daz.
ReplyDeleteThere is still plenty of Football left, but not a great first half.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Adazzio I would be pissed about the timeout and the run off the timeout with 1 second left.
ReplyDeleteThat was bushleague by Paul Johnson
Well ok. 7-0 ok
ReplyDeleteSeeing some good and bad with BC
Overall. Not bad. I see some potential
"We're moving the football right now." Huh? You have 107 total yards on offense. And Towles sucks. Daz is clueless.
ReplyDeleteRain is having big impact too
ReplyDeleteBetter O than last year.
ReplyDeleteI think that is Daz's point of reference
ESPN is categorizing the second turnover as a fumble, not an interception. Is that correct?
ReplyDeleteWell sure. Does this mean he gets to claim that they're a winning football team when they go 4-8 this year ha?
ReplyDeleteYeah they changed it to a fumble.
ReplyDeleteNot great.
ReplyDeleteBut seems like an improved football team.
The defense, as with last year, started slow and then looked terrific. Much better play-calling on offense, just need to execute better. Kicking game and clock management still an issue. I think the only way we win this is if the D can force a couple turnovers.
ReplyDeleteDaz looks so sheepish and not confident on the sideline. what is wrong with him?
ReplyDeletetough first half for the O
i’m reluctant to judge Towles in a game where its been raining for hours, balls are heavy and field is slick. he looks like a shifty runner but not much of a passer -- all the throws seem to be a little off the mark and not a ton of zip.
ReplyDeletenot opposed to seeing Wade for a series just to see how he looks.
for a team that wants to run run run run, we seem to lack the big time running back. Hilliman just sort of plods along.
El Miz, I think Rouse needs to be the featured back. He just has a quickness the others lack.
ReplyDeleteDid Bates schedule this game in Ireland or did he inherit it?
ReplyDeleteThe first 10 minutes will determine if I spill a little Kahlua in my coffee.
ReplyDeleteFINALLY!!!
ReplyDeleteSweet. Hilliman. Outrunning DBs. Fast!
ReplyDeleteDid I say Rouse should be the featured back? I thought for sure Hilliman would get caught. What a terrific run!
ReplyDeleteFucking Yes!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's just coffee for me this morning!
ReplyDeleteEagleboston. What was that about Rouse? :-)
ReplyDeleteThe good news when the other team crowds the box? Big plays if you break through.
ReplyDeleteThank God finally.....with the PAT just barely sneaking in.
ReplyDeleteAddazio needs to know we are in a cardiac game here. He needs to preserve timeouts as this could come down to a final drive.
ReplyDeleteEcho. Finally! It was like squeezing a "teen age pimple" but it was nice to hear the song "For Boston".
ReplyDeleteDeep pass
ReplyDeleteWrong
ReplyDeleteReally critical to get a stop here.
ReplyDeletePop. Bitch dropped it
ReplyDeleteNow we need to get points on this drive! Huge momentum opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThat half stretch obvious handoff is killing me
ReplyDeleteWhere is Willis?
ReplyDeleteFather Charlie
ReplyDeleteLooking good
ReplyDeleteThat was a great catch by Walker.
ReplyDeleteHands. Haven't seen a hands catch like that since Pete Mitchell
ReplyDeleteTwo downs here if you know how to coach.
ReplyDeleteNice call.
ReplyDeleteHands.
I like it.
So conservative in this part of the field. Go for it.
ReplyDeleteYou know what.
ReplyDeleteI kick this.
Short kick. Gives kicker confidence.
Get lead.
If you miss they get a long field.
And Addazio does it again. 3rd quarter TO in a dangerously close game.
ReplyDeletePrefer a FG.
ReplyDeleteLine not opening too many interior holes
It's over 35 yards and he's had two terrible kicks. And it's wet and rainy. Have to go for it.
ReplyDeleteGood call.
ReplyDeleteGeez us
ReplyDeleteHouston, we have a fucking problem.
ReplyDeleteOf course he missed it. I don't hate the call though.
ReplyDeletefG still blows.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable
Like I fucking said. Go for it Daz you joke. It's always a sure miss when you kick.
ReplyDeleteGreat! So you blow a timeout to call a kick when you should have gone for it. I'm losing my patience with Addazio. Bad series of events.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but that was a horrible call ATL.
ReplyDeleteUnacceptable.
ReplyDeleteLichtenberg hasn't shown he can kick ever.
ReplyDeleteLike I said that kicker is a punchline.
ReplyDeleteThat kick looked like one of my drives when I was learning how to golf.
Kid has no shame either after that closeup he got.
Fixer?
Offense working, momentum on our side. Have some guts and exert our will on them. You don't do that by putting our worst foot forward.
ReplyDeleteRam it down their throats. Calling a time out to tuck your tail is ridiculous.
You have to go for it in that situation. With most teams, you kick, but with BC's struggles in special teams, you go for it.
ReplyDeleteTime to see if Knoll can kick.
The D is prepared for all their running.
ReplyDeleteWhy and how in God's name, can't daz recruit a FG kicker in four years? This is so fucking maddening.
ReplyDeleteNice throw.
ReplyDeleteI like this QB.
I like the throws to TE.
I like the size mismatches
Fuck GT
ReplyDeleteA play action would be nice here.
ReplyDeleteLooking like we have guys that know how to catch this year.
ReplyDeleteI know I am jinxing it, but this drive is going well.
ReplyDeleteWould have worked with a better pass.
ReplyDeleteThat line is looking stout.
ReplyDeleteUnderneath was open. Poop
This is the best drive of the day, but we need points
ReplyDeleteYeah Crackers.
ReplyDeleteThat was a smart play by Towles.
ReplyDeleteExtra Pt.
ReplyDeleteFucking Gravy
Lots of unscored points left on the field.
ReplyDeleteFucking kicker.
This game is over if we average joe-dirt as a kicker.
So awesome to finally have a quarterback that can pass.
ReplyDeleteI think Tech is going to start opening it up in the air. In part because they are down and because it is working.
ReplyDeleteSecondary exposed again.
ReplyDeleteBelted.
ReplyDelete83 is a bitch. Shut him up, D.
ReplyDeleteNot good when you can't stop the GT passing game.
ReplyDeleteBad penalty by Moore.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice run.
ReplyDeleteAddazzio needs a timeout here.
Playaction here
ReplyDeleteBoth of those ends were held.
ReplyDeleteNo call is bullshit.
Must be nice to have a real kicker.
ReplyDeleteAnd they have a kicker. Damn. Another cardiac game. Need to play loose here and be aggressive as with the last drive. Don't play not to lose.
ReplyDeleteDaz better not go conservative here. Can't kill 6 minutes with a 3 and out. Let the boys play and get back into the end zone.
ReplyDeleteI hope Addazio doesn't go too conservative. Moving the ball and scoring is more important that just killing clock.
ReplyDeleteJesus
ReplyDeleteSickening.
ReplyDeletePlaying not to lose. Bad idea, Addazio
ReplyDeleteThat's the most Dazziest drive that ever Dazzed
ReplyDeleteThat was about the worst drive you could expect.
ReplyDeleteDid we expect something different? Playing prevent offense which will morph into a prevent defense, thereby preventing a BC win.
ReplyDeleteThat GT Special Team coach looks like Mick from Rocky.
ReplyDeleteDazzio is saying cut me, cut me
Spaz freaking tastic
ReplyDeleteGreat, if Tech scores, we will have a minute left and 1 timeout. Kicking game killed us today.
ReplyDeleteThis offense epitomizes why I never wake up before Noon on weekends.
ReplyDeleteShort field now
ReplyDeleteA timeout is not worth 4 seconds on the clock. Just punt it away and save the timeout in case.
ReplyDeleteMore proof that the "Daz" is a 275 pound loud mouth fraud. Talks tough, but coaches like a wuss. As usual, with game on the line, he goes into a shell, coaching not to lose rather than to win.
ReplyDeleteWin or lose today, there is no real future with this clown in charge.
Opposite. The games should be at 7 am every Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThis team is screwed up. They are fun to watch again though.
Daz being Daz
ReplyDeleteExcruciating.
ReplyDeleteWas his knee down when he threw that?
ReplyDeleteFucking stupid prevent defense
ReplyDeleteWeak
ReplyDeleteI can't watch.
ReplyDeleteThis defense is legit
ReplyDeleteMentally preparing for the worst.
ReplyDeleteAgain, wusses never win.
Moore has been terrible today
ReplyDeleteOnly 1 timeout left. Thanks, Addazio!!!
ReplyDeleteFucking Daz. This is why we can't have nice things.
ReplyDeletePoor coaching gets reflected in close games.
ReplyDeleteUGH
ReplyDelete4th and 19 is absolutely inexcusable. This was all set-up by the shit play calling on the last possession. Play not to lose guarantees a loss.
ReplyDelete
