Basketball adds another commit

Jim Christian is using every scholarship he has on late bloomers. He added another one Friday in Kansas wing Steffon Mitchell. I have nothing against late offers. My favorite BC Basketball player of all time -- Jared Dudley -- was one. However, they are long shot propositions. As Mitchell even said, he only started talking to BC a month ago. I like that he is hungry and wants to prove himself at the highest level, but other than that we don't know much about him. Jim Christian and his staff can't know all that much either...or as much as they would on a kid they had been recruiting for years.

I hope this pays off. Congrats to Mitchell and I hope you become the next Jared Dudley.

    This was a good pick up and a very nice recruiting job by Bill Wuczynski. This kid is no late bloomer - he has a lot of good offers - he just took his time making up his mind and credit Wuczynski for sticking in there.

    As I recall, Jared Dudley picked BC because he knew he could make a copy contribution immediately.

    Welcome Steffon - we need you and wish you the best of luck in your future. We hope you make friends quickly with your 2017 recruits/classmates and the entire team.

    I hope it works out but if we're being honest there's a better chance of him transferring out in a year or two like half of Christians other recruits than becoming the next Jared Dudley
