This game will go a long way in determining if we see a new coach for next year. If BC loses there is little hope for Daz with likely losses against FSU and NC State. If they win then Syracuse becomes the tell tale game assuming a win against UConn.
will be a good test case for "is Daz still an idiot" - how do we attack now with a 17 point lead. are we going to go into just run out the clock or will we keep attacking.
post "it will be beautiful" this team looks very good.
OK. Halftime. They will adjust. How will we adjust to their adjustments? Off their scoring drive to end the half, how will our defense respond in the second half? What have we got planned for the first possession of the second half? Can't wait to find out the answers to all these questions ... This has been FUN!
More 1st half yards than total yards in 3 games combined. Maybe it took empty stands, his boss coming to every game and donors voting with their checkbooks for Daz to get it.
He has to win out to keep his job. Looks like he is finally acting like he gets that.
Holy smoke. Did we sneak in players cut from the NFL? What a pass from Brown to Walker. A pat on the back to an unknown in Ray Smith (96) at defensive tackle. I believe the other tackle is Merritt. Both are great and clogging up the middle.----Addazio lost it on the holding call. Actually, I thought that it was a good call and the BC player pulled down the defender. He is under lots of pressure.---I don't understand that. He gets paid for three years and the extension win or lose. BC really looks good. No matter. It is time for a coaching change.
When I booked my trip for Florida State in August, I figured I would see a wipeout. Now, I think it could be a good game. Friday night at Alumni should be rocking.
Answer my own question: in 2000 BC beat Army 55-17 and the following week beat Navy 48-7. That was the last time they put up 40+ in two consecutive weeks.
Daz actually calmed down for the second half. He gave a good interview after the game. He even smiled once or twice. The interview with Anthony Brown was also very good. He was humble and put all the glory on his teammates. It didn't hurt to see him kiss his little sister as he ran off the field. There was a small group of BC fans manning the rails after the game. Now, it's Florida State on a Friday night. FSU lost again today to Louisville. They are ripe for the taking.

ReplyDeleteWhen you come right down to it, as STL_Eagle points out, this is a huge game for BC and Addazio.
ReplyDeleteStarting with the zone read. I am surprised when other teams don't run that play 40 times a game to us.
ReplyDeleteNice run by Brown.
ReplyDeleteBrown needs to get down on that scramble. He’s not getting extra yards and just getting punished.
ReplyDeleteSlow handoff up the middle.
ReplyDelete, but we converted.
Let's get 7.
ReplyDeleteVirginia is going all out to stop the run. Should open other things.
ReplyDeleteBad call IMHO.
ReplyDeleteDamn is that infuriating. Throw it past the sticks!
ReplyDeleteWow. Great call and great run.
ReplyDeleteI like it, I like it.
ReplyDeleteshocking how good we look. converting on 3rd downs? who is coaching this team?
ReplyDeleteThat will stink if it is called back.
ReplyDeleteGood call although it was snapped 2 seconds too late.
ReplyDeletehave to give credit to Daz - he has recruited speed well. WRs getting into space taking it to the house - White and Smith. holy moly!
ReplyDeleteCaught a huge break there.
ReplyDeleteOk Coach - keep up the pressure, and don't let up on the gas!!!
ReplyDeleteWe might have gotten a break for sure, but we'll take it. :-)

ReplyDeletepost "it will be beautiful" this team looks very good.
The refs are helping us too.
ReplyDelete6 of 7 on 3rd downs. What a difference from the past 2 years!
ReplyDeleteSnap fumble too bad. Maybe we can convert again.
ReplyDelete7 more would be great.
Go BC - keep it up.
As my grandfather said - if you get a guy down, don't let him get up!
Play calls - play calls.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference.
ReplyDeleteThis is unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI'll say it again - don't let them get up.
ReplyDeleteGreat start, BC.
Who are these guys....looking good so far
ReplyDeleteWhere was this all year?
ReplyDeleteDas Boot needs to put that in the end zone
ReplyDeleteKudos to Loeffler.
ReplyDeleteDillon has changed this offense.
They are just giving it away.
ReplyDeleteDefense is playing as good as the offense, D has been relentless at the ball
ReplyDeleteRough drive for Torres. Missed tackle on a previous play and also the pass interference.
ReplyDeletePass interference was iffy, I think.
ReplyDeleteI hope we can keep up the momentum in the second half.
We'll see.

PI was Tickytack...great half though
ReplyDeleteNeeds to keep the foot on the gas in the second half.

ReplyDeleteThe throw game is coming around, you know?
ReplyDeleteWill he use the short throw game on 4th and 2?
ReplyDeleteWhy go to 2 runs up the middle?
ReplyDeleteGood drive to get points out of the half
ReplyDeleteOkay. Hoped for 7 but at least we got 3.
ReplyDeleteJeff Smith was pretty open on that deflection, near interception.
Our receivers are finding daylight and getting open.
We need/want 2 more scores at least!
I hope the D can tighten up.
We need to be up by more than points. Especially with poor tackling.
ReplyDelete20 points.
ReplyDeleteCome on Loeffler on first down.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Hillman go to the wrong side every time on play action?!
ReplyDeleteThat was a play the OLine couldn't get earlier this year!
ReplyDeleteWow. I cannot remember the last time I have seen this team play angry, hard nosed football. Particularly on offense.
ReplyDeleteSa Wheat!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome drive!!!
ReplyDeleteAB13 for Heisman.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons we were so frustrated earlier was becuase w felt this team had the potential.
ReplyDeleteA team that improves every week is fun to watch.
Let's go, BC. Don't let them get up off the turf.
Keep that tough, angry attitude.
When I booked my trip for Florida State in August, I figured I would see a wipeout. Now, I think it could be a good game. Friday night at Alumni should be rocking.
ReplyDeleteThe missed tackles on defense are a significant problem.
ReplyDeleteAgree about the missed tackles.
ReplyDelete4th period up 27 points. Let's go, guys - keep this up and you have a chance to win going away.
ReplyDeleteDon't let them up. Give them sh$t.
Stuff UVA!!!!
Yeah, our LBs have issues.
ReplyDeleteDidn't like that sequence.
ReplyDeleteGood job D!
ReplyDeleteSlow hand-offs up the middle.
ReplyDeleteWe're up 24 points - let's run it up the middle.
ReplyDeleteWow. I'll shut up now.
ReplyDeleteThose bounces usually go against us.
Great play, John Lamont.
Any QB with a punter's number probably isn't good.
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time BC scored 40+ in two consecutive games?
ReplyDeleteNot time to start sprinkling paper clips Daz, but you got our attention.
Answer my own question: in 2000 BC beat Army 55-17 and the following week beat Navy 48-7. That was the last time they put up 40+ in two consecutive weeks.
DeleteI saw 99 TJ Rayam in there. I guess we're burning his redshirt.
ReplyDeleteAnother nice interception.
That was a sportsmanship play call on 4th down. However, a bootleg scores.
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time were saw defensive regulars get a break?
ReplyDeleteUnreal.
I agree, CT.
ReplyDeleteAgainst the punter/qb.
ReplyDelete#38 Richard Wilson - Biology Major. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Boston College - players, coaches and staff.
ReplyDeleteAnd BC Fans!!!!
enjoy the periscope everyone!
ReplyDeleteDidn't see the game, congrats bc
ReplyDeleteWe're at Hilton Head. Going for a walk on the beach with my Boston College hat!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Team.
That was a beat down from beginning to end. Awesome win. To let down at all.
ReplyDeleteLooking back now we have played some very good teams. Looks like that is helping us against the average ones.
Friday night is going to be awesome.
Post of the year from Big right there.
ReplyDeleteIncredible game. Luv'd it.
ReplyDeleteNever so nervous in a win.
But BC did not just hang on. They played to win all the way
The team played great in the second half.
Terrific win.
