  2. BJK here.

I won't be blogging much today, but scoreboard watching for sure while attending the VT at GT game in chilly Atlanta.

Just had breakfast at the Silver Skillet to get ready. ☺️

Go BC - let's get the job done today in the cold. Fans - huddle up and cuddle up and DRESS PROPERLY.

AJ Dillon - this could be your day, and it will open up the receivers.

    Oh boy! Carpe Diem.

    1. Unimaginable back in my day. 05-09.

    2. It’s the first frigid day of the year. All of the freshmen from the South are wondering what the hell they’ve done and are huddled in front of their computers seeing if it is too late to transfer closer to home by the start of next semester.

  4. Let's go D. Start this game off on a good note.

  5. Ughhhhhhh. Rolling too.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Made up his mind 10 mins ago who he was going to throw to there. Horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Attendance sucks. Absolutely disgraceful.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Interception right in front of me. Locked in on double covered receiver. Horrible read.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Poor decision by Brown. Take what they are giving you. He had a wide open receiver to his right about 8 yards deep. Instead, he threw into double coverage.

    ReplyDelete
  10. 3rd down defense stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  11. State shoots themselves in the foot as well

    ReplyDelete
  12. 54 yd FG has about 10% chance of success today

    ReplyDelete
  13. Please run ur 240 lb back on 3rd and two. Blah. They really like Brown on those bootlegs. Probably sucks at reading defenses in the pocket.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Offense moving the ball, but cannot score. It's going to be a nailbiter

    ReplyDelete
  15. The attendance, both student and general market, is a product of the team’s past performance. Going 0-8 in the ACC two years ago killed any enthusiasm for going to games. Last year was better but they still got blown out by all of the competitive teams.

This year is showing signs of life but it will take more than a three game win streak to overcome the deep-seated apathy that has set in. A winning record (8-4 or 7-5) and a bowl win will set the stage for better attendance next year.

My son is Sophomore at BC and I seem to be more interested in the team than he and his friends are but I think they will come around if BC continues to win. I do not support being a fair weather fan but unfortunately the younger generation leans that direction.

  16. Not as cold here as it may look. No wind. NCST is completely flat on both sides of ball.

    ReplyDelete
  17. CT, I think the defense is actually playing pretty well. They gambled with blitzes on a couple of those 3rd down conversions

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is why I don't like Brown running. At the Florida State game, he crushed his shoulder. Now it looks like he blows out a knee. Just stay in the pocket and find an open receiver or throw the ball away. It's all on Wade now.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think everyone is fearing the worst.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I would have taken the 3 points there. That could be critical in a tight game.

    ReplyDelete
  21. BC is being way too cute in short yardage situations. What the hell was that?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dumbest trick play ever

    ReplyDelete
  23. Just sneak for a yard

    ReplyDelete
  24. I just don't get the play calls on 3rd and two and now 4th and 1. Daz wants to set a tone and both times they get cute.

Ha. Wonder Wade is thinking. "They trust Hilliman over me? Wtf?"

    ReplyDelete
  25. It’s 4th and 1. The one thing we do well is run the ball. Just run up the gut.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This is starting to look really bleak. Oh, well, we should be bowl eligible versus UCONN

    ReplyDelete
  27. Horrible call. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Too cute on the 4 and 1 play. D playing great. Sucks for brown and wtf that was clearly a incomplete. How could they not overturn that.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This game has become comically bad.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Karma for the call. Apparently the turf is on scholarship, too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What's with all the injuries? We can't get a break.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Another missed State FG. This is an ugly one. Nice D though. Just need O to punch it in.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just hand that man the rock. Screw cute Daz.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's Dillon versus the world!

    ReplyDelete
  35. First time seeing Dillon up close. Just commented he was a load and then he rumbles. Legit.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Letssssss goooooo!!!' Dam that hole was huge! !!! Dillon has some wheels too. Easy td. Oline has made the big jump and I believe it's the reason for the turnaround along with the coaching aggressiveness.

    ReplyDelete
  37. LG MVP on that run.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Just don't know if we are going to be able to score enough points today to win this one. I'm guessing with Brown out, the offense will be a little tighter. You can only run Dillon so much before that experienced front line plays the run and stops him. You really need the threat of the pass to open things up for Dillon.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Not how you want to end the half...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Disaster! We have seen this script before.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Really wish we would have kicked the field goal on that 4th and 1. Points are critical today.

    ReplyDelete
  42. While I love being aggressive, I agree EB, especially so early in the game. That was some truly Atlanta Falcons buffoonery there. I can say that as a Falcons fan.

    ReplyDelete
  43. So so terribly pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Daz is going to turtle the hell out of the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Those 3 points earlier instead of that trash 4th and 1 play...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Addazio outcoached at the end of the half again.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Saw the end of the half on my phone - not good. Poor coaching and poor execution.

Tough grind in the second half.

    Go BC.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow. Some very poor play calling. BC should be leading and yet they trail at half. Also why call the time outs when the kicker has been consistently missing. His first attempt would have been miss number three but instead he gets three practice tries so he is locked in on the final kick.

    ReplyDelete
  49. A frustrating half. This game is winnable but Addazio needs to pull the right strings at half.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What's that stat about Daz when trailing at half?

      Delete
  50. Two things ... first they had Knoll Only back 12 yards for that last punt. Seemed very close and certainly made it easier for NC State to get a hand on that. Good awareness to run with it and kill a few seconds.

Second why bother with timeouts when the kicker is clearly rattled anyways ... The delay of game did that. All you did after that was make a mockery of the rules and let him get settled in.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Trash time management at end of half

    ReplyDelete
  52. UCONN looks feisty today

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wade is no threat. Afraid to throw a deep ball and holds the ball forever. Ncs gonna load the box and our only hope is for Dillon to break one.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Some day a lineman is going to break his neck on a FG that doesn’t count due to a last second time out and they will finally end the dumb rule of coaches calling TO to freeze the kicker.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Why on earth would you decline that penalty. Bad Daz has fully taken over.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wade has to play better. We are calling the same plays as we did with Brown. Now i would have kicked the FG on the 4th and 1

    ReplyDelete
  57. Defense is allowing too many 3rd down conversions. They are going to start wearing down, especially with a struggling BC offense. Frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Daz no longer playing to win. Declines opportunity to pin NC State inside the 20. This is a winnable game that is trending in the wrong direction.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Game over. Never blow a third quarter timeout in a close game. Addazio just ruined a chance at a 2 minute drill in the 4th. Terrible coaching. When he is going to learn? This strategy has burned him over a half dozen times.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I’m sure we won’t need that time out at the end of the game or anything.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Another missed FG from State. Off the upright. Just hand it to AJ.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Now give Wade something that he likes to do. No pocket passing.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Back to the BC offense of old. Such cowardice.

    ReplyDelete
  64. They have got to find a way to stop 3rd and long. Terrible!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Why would NC State make that call? What a gift!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I wonder if Addazio will use Perry. Hate wasting the redshirt, but based on Meter's talk, I think it is in the mix.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Weak 3 and out. NC State starting to turn things up as BC conservatively retreats. Need a turnover.

    ReplyDelete
  68. That was a great call to Smith.

    ReplyDelete
  69. That was a promising drive that BC killed on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  70. BC loves those deep drops.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wow. What a waste of a great punt. Terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  72. This analyst is really good. He just talked about BC not staying in the pocket. They do so and the drive is killed. Why can't Addazio figure this stuff out?

And now an illegal formation? That is on the coaches. You cannot do that!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thank god for the turnover. Our offense is not gonna manufacture a drive. Dam that penalty is a killer. What a punt.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Special teams has been awful today. Poor decision making, poor execution, mental errors. Fortunately their field-goal kicker is keeping us in it

    ReplyDelete
  75. I assume the deep drops are for Wade to be able to see over the line.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 2/3 of stadium in shade = 2/3 empty...

    ReplyDelete
  77. Our defense is a really good 1st and 2nd down defense.

    ReplyDelete
  78. That was some bad tackling.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Dreadful tackling.

    ReplyDelete
  80. BC playing from behind late, missing a timeout. To be fair, good football teams rarely lose 3 straight and I feel the Wolfpack are a good team.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Jinxed them. They like running right. Wade has his shot.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Defense is tired guys. That explains the missed tackles. When you are on the field nearly the entire game, you are toast by the 4th quarter. The only reason we are in this game is because State tried to get tricky and shot themselves in the feet. Otherwise, they are dominating this game on both sides of the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The dumb 4th and 1 call instead of taking the points is the difference in this game.

    ReplyDelete
  84. The whole stadium knew that was coming and he still got the first down.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Student section is empty. These millennials are pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I would say that silenced the crowd but...

    ReplyDelete
  87. Typical BC football there. Play for the fg, have a special teams meltdown. Thanks Daz.

    ReplyDelete
  88. This one we let slip through.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Damn, I don't know if we will see the ball again. Oh well, we just went from one toilet bowl to the outhouse bowl. Not a huge loss.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hate that 3rd down call. Understand the resistance to let Wade throw it down there, but a run pass bootleg option would have been safe.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Had our chances regardless, but losing Brown is huge. And having Wade the rest of the way this season is not a comforting reality.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Having Wade for the rest of the season has gassed up the Daz excuse train.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Here's the ball game on this 3rd down

    ReplyDelete
  94. Now the offense has just 1 timeout to work with in their final drive. 3 minutes is plenty of time but if the offense fails here, you have no way to get the ball back. This drive is it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Just terrible. The team reflects its coaching in close games in its penalties, poor execution and nervousness. In almost all of their close games over the last 5 years they cannot execute. I do give a little credit for staying in the game after AB got hurt. BUT for everyone who wants to keep Addazio another year remember the play calling from this game with wither QB. We have ZERO to lose, but we just play too conservative. Addazio is going to ruin Dillon by pounding him too too much.

And yes, here come the excuses.

I want 6-6 for the extra practice, lose a bowl game and get a new coach for Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  96. The other critical play in this game is when Brown killed a drive by throwing into double coverage. A more experienced QB would have hit the secondary receiver open underneath or would have thrown the ball away. Brown got a little greedy there and it cost BC.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Ok. Here we go. No TOs though.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Should have kept that timeout

    ReplyDelete
  99. This game was within reach but BC is running out of time. BC needs a stop and then some aggressive play.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Why do you not run with Dillon...now we're up shit creek

    ReplyDelete
  101. That was one of the saddest set of downs I've ever seen. Pop Warner teams could do better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I’d say fans are heading to the exits but....

    ReplyDelete
  103. They had plenty of time for a few runs.

    ReplyDelete
  104. This one is annoying as hell. Threw it away.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I knew this game was over when he called a TO in the 3rd. This is why you never call timeouts in close games in the 3rd. You just give your team no shot in the 4th. Why can't they hire some geek kid to help Addazio with in-game strategy?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Good God so many mental errors.

    ReplyDelete
  107. A real shame. The coach gave them 3 points at the end of the first half (snapped the ball on third down with 14 seconds left on play clock - unbelievable) and while Brown wasn’t having his best day there is a big drop off to Wade. I laughed a few weeks ago when people on this blog thought he should be the starer after the Louisville game. Unfortunately Wade has very poor instincts for a QB but not his fault. How could he not just throw the ball up for grabs on that play with 28 seconds left especially after he escaped the first defender given score and time left? Not his fault. That is is who he is and that is why he is the backup. Also Brown a much better runner.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Man, I get that Wade doesn’t get many reps, but he seems so overwhelmed. Simple things like throwing the ball away are eluding him.... UCONN is not a gimmie

    ReplyDelete
  109. Do you all think the bye killed momentum? The offense was nowhere near as sharp today.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Any word on how serious Brown’s injury is? While UConn may not be a gimme BC should win so the season is going to come down to Syracuse. If Brown is out for the season Syracuse will be a challenge. The fate of Daz likely hangs on their performance in the Syracuse game.

    ReplyDelete
  111. To the good, Daz can def be fired now.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Fadule is better than wade

    ReplyDelete
  113. Remember at the end of the movie Awakenings how they all went back to being catatonic? That was more uplifting than what I witnessed today.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Addazio is now 1-13 against ranked teams and 13-26 in ACC games.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Not sure what they were doing on the last drive. Wade dropping back with 3.5 minutes to go? They could have run it a couple times to get the drive moving and then went to the pass. Don't know what the thought process was there.

After Brown left my expectations went with him.

The defense was great, again. Not going to stop them on every drive.

The offense was ok. The QB is a major fucking issue. Brown was decent. Wade is absolutely horrible. As I have said before the worst starting QB we have had in 25 years. The fact people here wanted him to start shows the knowledge level of football here is weak. Poor kid. I was looking for Jeff Smith to get some QB time.

We would have beat them if Brown played the whole game. The sacks taken by Wade would have been runs by Brown. Especially on the opening drive of the second half Wade really hurt us standing there taking the sack.

UCONN is a win. Syracuse is a loss.

A bowl win against an unfocused loser program gets Dazzler to 7-6 again.

    ReplyDelete
  116. we went back to playing daz ball today. back to boring stupid conservative football. we didn't have a chance

    ReplyDelete
  117. can all the daz lovers stand down now?
