It is the last game of the year and a chance for Addazio to get to eight wins. The weather is freezing. The opponent is old school and we are playing in Yankee Stadium. Let's do this!

Next to BC, Iowa is the team I have viewed the most. I wish I were in a sports bar in Des Moines proudly wearing the BC colors, but I am visiting family in North Carolina.
ReplyDeleteIowa is eerily similar to BC. They recruit 2 and 3 stars, coach them up and put more players than they should into the NFL.
BC’s Dillon gets all of the press, but Akrum Woolley is a very dangerous back. I’m a little concerned about BC’s depleted defense.
Stanley is a big, imposing QB. you cannot just rush 4 against him. You need to blitz.
The Iowa linebackers are exceptional. BC is going to have to be more balanced to keep them off balance.
Iowa, like BC, will slip tight ends put for passes. BC needs to be aware of this.
Will Yankee Stadium turn to the west and wave to the kids at Iowa Children’s Hospital at the end of the 1st quarter? That wold be a cool recognition of the best new tradition in college football.
Go Eagles! Eagles are tougher than hawks.
Like I said earlier. Less than two picks and we win.
ReplyDeleteGood stop. Bad QB. But still. Good stop.
ReplyDeleteHolding them to a field goal was huge there.
ReplyDeleteGood return as consistently by Walker. He has been a bright spot all year. Let's see if Wade can overcome his mistake.
ReplyDeleteThat away, Wade!
ReplyDeleteNice pass. Need that to loosen up for Dillon
ReplyDeleteIcy
ReplyDeleteWhy aren’t the Eagles wearing cleats?
ReplyDeleteNice little drive. Good punt. Field sucks. Northern bowls are dumb.
ReplyDeleteI was just going to ask the same, it looks like our skill position players have no cleats or turf shoes. They are slipping all over the place
ReplyDeleteD
ReplyDeleteGood enough
ReplyDeleteKurt Frenez in a hoodie in 17 degrees is 2017 example of Bowie Kuhn in the World Series
ReplyDeleteLook it up kids
Lady on tv saying BC is trying various shoes. Hope the find the right ones.
ReplyDeleteDid Daz just burn Lewis’ redshirt ? I don’t remember him playing earlier.... could be the best #11 receiver since Bucky Godbolt
ReplyDeleteOmg!
ReplyDeleteDillons unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteBC is winning the line of scrimmage. Great drive!!!
ReplyDeleteStop their run we'll be ok.
ReplyDeleteOr that.
ReplyDelete😬
ReplyDeleteThey got a back too!
ReplyDeleteWoodley is dangerous. You have to stop him or BC will lose.
ReplyDeleteWadley. Damn spell check
ReplyDeleteThat’s a BS call!
ReplyDeleteBooger is right, keep that flag in your pocket
ReplyDeleteBig 10 crew?
Sucker pass
ReplyDeleteReferees are what we pay to see, right?
ReplyDeleteLike watching the Falcons-Saints game.
Absurd.
They’re 3 point favorites. Hmm!
ReplyDeleteThey did the wave. Love it!
ReplyDeletesolid blocking on that smith run
ReplyDeleteDid Dillon get hurt?
ReplyDeleteThe slipping just makes it dumb.
ReplyDeleteWow! BC doesn’t do that! Go Eagles 🦅
ReplyDeleteMe like!!!
ReplyDeleteFinally a bounce going our way.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely the better team on both sides of the ball. Let’s just hope the field conditions and refs do not become bigger factors in this game. Then it may require Daz to perform some strategery....and we know how that usually goes.....
Good sack
ReplyDeletecontributions from lots of guys
ReplyDeleteBeltzers down.
ReplyDeleteThese announcers are brilliant
ReplyDeleteOur B defense is better than their A offense.
ReplyDeleteTouched a Hawkeye and another guy touched it from end zone as I saw it.
ReplyDeleteLooks good; keep your feet; great run
ReplyDeleteJust learned a good BC fried’s wife has Parkinson’s disease. Prayers
ReplyDeleteTheir O-line is about as good as Booger McFarland is as a booth analyst.
ReplyDeleteGod bless her ‘66
ReplyDeleteWe usually miss into that endzone.
ReplyDeletewhy rush?
ReplyDeleteWhy no time out pre kick. ?
ReplyDeleteStupid - kid needs not rush
BC seems to be slipping more than Iowa.
ReplyDeleteWrong cleats/shoes??
Dominating but we are only up by 7. I said this would come down to a field goal. Hope it is not that miss by Lichtenberg that decides the game.
ReplyDeleteAnswer: Daz is a natural meat head
ReplyDeleteWhy the rush? Evens SA was confused.. Special team coach has to do better.
ReplyDeleteTheir 10 points were a gift. Let that D continue to dominate their O line. Give Dillon the rock.
ReplyDeleteEven*
ReplyDeleteWhat are the linemen wearing?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should put on the kinda cleats I wore in HS.
Should have used the TO. Thanks for not swearing coach
ReplyDeleteBC needs to put Iowa away early in the 3rd. The conditions are just begging for one team to break the other's spirit.
ReplyDeleteRight Bill we need a stop right off the bat
ReplyDeletePlease Daz this is a winnable game, don’t screw this up
It’s about 22 degrees now and forecast to get in the teens. So score first and often early.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a small crowd. Not surprising in this weather. I did not drive the 6 miles from Fort Lee.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason my comments are being deleted. Perishtheeagle
ReplyDeleteI guess they have shoe problems too
ReplyDeleteThis is way too tight. BC is letting Iowa hang close and Wadley or Fant will blow this game open. Really needed that field goal at the end of the half and the bs touchdown off the unsportsmanlike penalty may come back to haunt the Eagles.
ReplyDeleteDefense is playing great. But I worry about the depth.
Oh, oh, Wadley getting hot.
ReplyDeleteOh, boy. Not good
ReplyDeleteOops
ReplyDeleteSadly is great too.
ReplyDeleteWadley
ReplyDeleteSo much for domination. We did not capitalize at critical points and now they have all of the momentum. Offense needs to answer.
ReplyDeleteUgh.
ReplyDeleteOur defense is too depleted. Is Beltzer out for the game?
ReplyDeleteNice throw. We're ok.
ReplyDeleteI think Iowa has their game plan figured out and adjustments made? Can Addazio do the same?
ReplyDeleteHas he ever?
ReplyDeleteIowa is not good. But that 3rd down run is all u need to know.
ReplyDeleteReally poor play calling on that last drive.
ReplyDeleteFerentz completely out-coached Addazio at half
ReplyDeleteThat was a much needed stop by the D.
ReplyDeleteNo. we're ok. This is our 2nd string defense. And they're still better.
ReplyDeleteThe offense is just flat
ReplyDeleteThe staff has no confidence throwing the ball downfield.
ReplyDeleteEven when he easily has the better talent, the Daz struggles. Only he could have a 6-1 lead in yards at the half and be in a close game.
ReplyDeleteBtw, Nice use of his last TO at end of half.
Daz will now make pre4th Q adjustments. Not.
ReplyDeleteGarbage 3rd quarter
BC does not have the better talent. These teams are even.
ReplyDeleteWhy would they throw a screen pass in front of the Outlaw Josey Jewel? That is just plain stupid.
Disagree. We are playing frosh lbs.
ReplyDeleteForget Dillon. Wadley is the beast now.
ReplyDeleteCT, they have 3 O-linemen out.
ReplyDeleteSurprised Iowa passed on 2nd down. We have not been able to stop the run
ReplyDeleteOk. What does BC have defensively?
ReplyDeletePretty impressed actually.
Oh and Wade.
ReplyDeleteGreat, this could be the game-winning field goal. Time to pray to my deceased son. He got us a win versus Louisville in football and Duke in basketball.
ReplyDeleteWatching this, I'm actually pretty optimistic for next yr. wow. The field stinks. Backup QB. Backup defense.
ReplyDeleteForest. Trees.
CT-I agree. The defense is playing well all things considered. The offense has stalled out. That is the issue here. Also kick off coverage has been uncharacteristicly horrible.
ReplyDeleteSweeney!
ReplyDeleteis that Bucky effen Dent over Jim Reid's shoulder in the booth? Not a good vibe
ReplyDeletesweeney having a big game
ReplyDeleteWhat is with all of the false starts today?
ReplyDeleteThis is going to OT again, isn't it?
ReplyDeletePick 6. Coming.
ReplyDeleteThis game could come down to Lichtenberg’s miss before half. Frustrating!
ReplyDeleteProblem with this game is if BC wins it will reinforce Dazzoloser to play not to lose instead of playing to win
ReplyDeleteFinally called a hold on Iowa.
ReplyDeleteGreat D there!
ReplyDeleteLet’s kill that clock with 6
ReplyDeleteYards are 378-158 and it's a tie game..
ReplyDeleteOk D your time
ReplyDeleteBad
ReplyDeleteFumble. Big gain
ReplyDeleteUgggghhh
Damn, I guess my son was an Iowa fan.
ReplyDeleteAnd quick TD.
ReplyDeleteOh my
O no!
ReplyDeleteToo bad our QB can’t throw like that
ReplyDeleteWasn’t wade’s “fumble” a forward pass?
ReplyDeleteYeah. Wade is simple. There is no reason for this game to be close. Except. QB.
ReplyDeleteNext yr should be pretty good. See ya then.
ReplyDeleteProblem with this game is if BC wins it will reinforce Dazzoloser to play not to lose instead of playing to win
ReplyDeleteOf all the bad play calling we’ve seen from the BC offense over the last few years I’ve never seen it as bad as it is tonight. It’s truly unbelievable. It’s a bowl game you have nothing to lose why not take some chances and actually try and win the game? Instead handoff 1st and 2nd down when it’s not working and put yourself in 3rd and long where the whole world knows you are going to pass. Truly unbelievable..and for the record Lindstrom is a piece of garbage. He has gotten continually beat over his career yet for whatever reason he continues to get hyped..what an absolute abortion this game has been...
ReplyDeleteReally pissed about that unsportsmanlike call in the first half. Credit Iowa for making adjustments and staying in the game. Credit Addazio for giving it away with stupid 2nd half play calls.
ReplyDeleteOutscored 17-3 in 2H. Par for the course for the worst coach in the country. He is what he is after five long years, but some stooges on this board still cling to the irrational hope he will somehow, at age 58, figure it all out.
ReplyDeleteThe unsportsmanlike call was an embargo all those who call themselves a referree. If that was a penalty than the same penalty should have been called against the Iowa receiver who caught the long pass in the 3rd Qtr when he stood up and made the first down signal in close proximity to the defender. How always that any different?
ReplyDeleteEmbarrassment
DeleteYou are right I hate to say
Delete3 minutes to go and you are running right at Jewel? Stupid!
ReplyDeleteHey Daz...note to self in case you haven’t noticed, the run isn’t working.
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY unbelievable
ReplyDeleteHey Daz..another note..there is only 1:42 left
ReplyDeletegame. see you next season
ReplyDeleteHa. Horrible.
ReplyDeletePossible to Fire Daz after this debacle?
ReplyDeleteThe party’s over. 😌
ReplyDeleteCrap!
ReplyDeleteDillon has slipped on the logo at midfield all game. And he hands it to him there with less than two minutes to go so he can slip again
ReplyDeleteI was trying to give Daz the benefit of the doubt after this season but tonight has sealed it for me. What an absolute disgrace. This game shouldn’t have been close....
ReplyDeleteNot another team in football runs 3/5 plays down 7 with less than two minutes to go. Only fan base in America that equates going 7-6 with a bunch of wins over shitty teams with winning the Rose Bowl.
ReplyDeleteLadies and gentlemen, I present to you the Addazio era at BC in a nutshell.
ReplyDeleteOutcoached. Clown show got to go.
Total yds..BC 386 and Iowa 198..great game Daz! Unfreakingbelivable
ReplyDeleteI don't even understand why I invest so much energy into watching sports.
ReplyDeleteI need to reevaluate my life.
Dillon saved Daz this year..he’s the only reason he will still have a job unfortunately
ReplyDeleteImagine being one of the suckers who spent good money to go freeze their ass off to watch this idiot coach?
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Wade. Not good. But loyal.
ReplyDeleteMy brother, who is an Iowa State fan just said Addazio is the worst game day coach he’s ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI'm done. Gonna watch another team until Dazzoloser is gone
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to see how many of those early commits back out after watching this debacle...
ReplyDeleteUnknown, it will be a long wait. He’ll retire from BC after another five to ten long years.
ReplyDeleteSo, so painful....
ReplyDeleteLet’s see what happens with a HEALTHY Jon Baker, a HEALTHY Connor Strachan, a HEALTHY AB.
ReplyDeleteRemind me how many ACC games did bc win a few years back.
Dazoshit reverted to his old timid ways (two runs up the middle and a dropped pass) and we lost. Sound and look familiar?
ReplyDeleteThat’s all great but with the same HC...you will still get what you got tonight..
ReplyDeleteIdiot like Speedie are why the administration laughs at real fans who demand BC at least try to live up to its motto, ever to excel.
ReplyDeleteThat game was lost purely due to being out-coached. 100%
ReplyDeleteBlah blah blah. I’m an idiot. Big f’n deal.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I'm a cynic. But if we stay healthy, we'll be good. Wade cost us. We'll be good next yr.
ReplyDeleteAs in, “It will be beautiful”, right?
DeleteOne person cost us. It wasn’t Wade.
Winnable game that became a typical loss. Daz did not do much to help the cause but the game really turned on four factors:
ReplyDelete1. Two picks off deflections
2. Fumble during late drive
3. Dillon having issues with footing while Wadley having success
4. Wade ok but clearly not difference maker
There is certainly a reason for more optimism next year. BC should win all of their non-conference games so an 8-4 season should be the minimum expectation.
Like I said. If Dillon survives his 40 carries and Wade throws less than 2 ints we win. Neither one happened.
ReplyDeleteTGS is a dumb bitch.
Never to excel!
ReplyDeleteThe 9:57 comment is stupid. Just like the commenter.
