While there are always some gripes, I think most BC fans, players and coaches were excited about the Pinstripe Bowl selection. The media and the Iowa community don't seem as thrilled.
The Big Lead named the bowl one of the worst of the season. Their logic is that the game pairs two conservative, inefficient offenses on a slippery baseball field.
Kirk Ferentz was Mr. Excitement in this interview. He admits to not knowing much about BC.
Here is Iowa's AD talking. He had to start the Q&As explaining why they are not going to Nashville.
The Iowa players don't seem as disappointed, but they don't seem particularly happy either.
Addazio was about the exact opposite of everyone from Iowa. He thinks this is the perfect bowl for BC.
Any bowl game with BC is pretty much always one of the worst of the bowl season. It happens every time they make a bowl game. It's a mediocre program with a terrible fan base.

ReplyDeleteThe ticket prices are a little stiff for younger fans, and I hope that won't be an obstacle. (I don't know what student prices will be, but I hope they are reasonable and attainable for the kids.)

I'm too far away to hear chatter, but I think this is Wade's game all the way. Perry only sees action if there is an injury (that would be awful for the individual) or Wade has a terrible night or something.

Pinstripe is a good outcome for those of us in the NY area, and will bring 5-10,000 of our fans who will make the trip during Christmans week. Iowa is a decent Big Ten program, but their fans will not travel well to NYC. I'd be surprised if there are more than 20,000 at this game. Very different from the game a few years back when we played Penn State....PSU has a large fanatical fan base that will travel anywhere...even for a lower tier bowl game. Iowa fans are not like that....Yankee Stadium will be somewhat quiet.

Yeah. This is a big for Dazzler. He was fucking pissed after the Penn State loss a couple years ago. Something tells me Iowa folds. They rolled over in the rose bowl a couple years ago. Totally embarrassed them selves. They gaged on it at home this season when Penn State shoved it down their throat on a game ending drive in last couple minutes. Plus they will be on the big city so who knows how they react to see lights on at night and cars on the streets after 8 pm.
