Campanile uses Twitter to seemingly rebut departure news.

The above tweet is a nice statement and gesture from BC's DB Coach Anthony Campanile. But to those not following, it might seem out of context or random. It's not. It appears Campanile tweeted the above to counter the internet rumor that he is leaving BC so he can return to Rutgers and coach alongside his brother.

I am glad to read the tweet and hope Campanile stays for a while. He has proven to be a great recruiter and losing him to Rutgers would certainly hurt our efforts in New Jersey.

  1. BC needs to do everything it can to keep Anthony. Hell, hire his whole family. Fire Daz and give him the HC job. No really, I think he has the potential to be a fast riser to a HC role and with how we have struck out repeatedly in HC searches, and Daz has proven to be mediocre at best, Campanile could be a unique internal hire in the future. We need to at least make him Assistant DC or something..

  2. Inasmuch as all the brothers have names like Vito, and nunzio ,I was afraid that the BC guy was leaving

    Would be a loss

    New Jersey is prime territory
And BC and Rutgers really compete for the same students

  3. Rutgers sucks.

I don't want the coach to leave BC. He has done a lot for BC football and BC football has done a lot for him.

If he leaves BC for Rutgers then he is making a bad decision.

The tweet reiterates what I said yesterday about most of the teams in the ACC wishing they had BC 's roster this coming season.

It also sounds like he is not be here beyond this season. Could see him bouncing to Ohio State or Giants.

  4. What is happening with Anthony Brown?

  5. Huge question.
And we still do not have exact diagnosis and treatment .
We know about privacy and HIPAA but this is strange.

  6. Camp was NEVER close to leaving. One NJ guy wrote how great it would be to have him & BC247 ran with it as gospel. His future is bright at BC.

  7. Rutgers football is atrocious. BC is a super power compared to that program. Anyone who leaves us for Rutgers is an idiot.

  8. Anthony Brown will miss all of spring and most of summer. Loeffler talked about it during the National Signing Day Show. He said it was very unfortunate because this offseason was going to be HUGE for his future development. Mentioned he will have to find a way to get better without being on the field. Also said this is a real chance for guys like EJ Perry and Matt (McDonald?) to prove why they were recruited to play QB here

  10. I was told by someone with ties to the football program that Anthony had torn his ACL.

  11. To repeat a prior post - the success of the upcoming football season is totally dependent on a healthy Anthony Brown . If he comes back with no ramifications from his injury BC WILL HAVE A FINE SEASON !!!

  12. Relax. Brown wasn't that spectacular. Have some faith in the new kids.

  13. That was a hell of a win by the basketball team. It's a shame Robinson isn't in the ACC POY discussion.

  14. Georgia Eagle - are you implying that a brand new QB could even approach the success of Anthony Brown who is a special athlete ?? Freshman QB's do not just step in and contribute immediately - Brown was special in that regard. And a question GE ??? Who do you see as that special new kid at QB - I do not follow the team as I once did after "Giving up my season tickets". Thanks .

  15. Brown starting improving quite a bit before he got hurt. And I hope that growth continues. Still he had among the worst stats for a starting QB. 51% completion. 11td - 9. Interception. National his stats put him at 116

Lots of potential. But AB is not another Matt Ryan.

BC’s Season is not dependent on AB.

  16. Perry and McDonald have good references and lots of potential but no experience. Actually, Matt Ryan struggled in his first year on the field as a sophomore. AB has already been on the field. If he is not on the field, BC struggles and it's back to Fadule. Based on preseason rankings BC is looking at 5-7 with Purdue being just behind and favored at home. This means 4-8.---I would say that Campanile is bright enough to step way up if the Dazzler is pushed out the door. The loyal resistance can't wait for Daz to be given his walking papers with a 5 million dollar buyout.
