BC has two great players and one pretty good one (Chatman). The beauty of an elimination tournament is that if any one of them get real hot, that player can carry the team to victory. That's pretty much what happened in the ACC Tournament Opener, as Ky Bowman scored 26 in BC's win over Georgia Tech. Bowman's efficient day helped offset Robinson's off day. The ACC first teamer went 5-17 from the field. Popovic also played well.
Georgia Tech looked terrible. If BC had shot well from 3 or cut back on turnovers, BC would have won by 20+.
Because of the back-to-back nature of the tournament, Christian had to give more minutes to his bench and guys like Baker and Reyes were productive.
BC plays NC State Wednesday afternoon. That's a winnable game. We will just need someone to get hot again.
Nice job by Jim and Kids. Hope we hit "THE HEIGHTS" and grab another "FOR BOSTON"

ReplyDeleteEagles 45-31 at halftime over NC State. If the team hangs on, that'd be 19 wins. Probably not enough for the NCAAs, but a big step up from the recent past under Christian.

ReplyDeleteShowed some poise at the end. Up 17 with 19 min left. NCSU tied it a few times. Great last 5 mins by both teams. A ton of talent in this conference. Congrats to the kids. They are the turnaround. 20 wins! Celebratory drink time!

ReplyDeleteThey have a chance to keep it going. Clemson is beatable. Would love to see them take a shot at UVA. UVA is tough but BC hung with them on the road earlier in the year.
Beating #1 ranked team and 4 wins in ACC tourney should be enough to get some consideration for the dance. Win one more than that and they are in, but 5 wins in 5 days is asking a lot.
OK, I'm getting carried away....but happy to see the program respectable again and competing well in some big games.
