this will never again be a rivalry and shouldn't be played more than once every 20 years or so. UMass and UConn are local body bags more appropriate to play more frequently.
Another nice day on the heights. Mod thinks it is better when it rains. TGS holds his Providence College attending "sons'" hand when they cross the street together.
I agree with you, Bravesbill. I think it was also a credit to the HC defensive players who never quit. Our OLine didn't look all that impressive to me. I don't mean to be super critical, but what happens when we play Wake Forest?
And come on, Coach Ricky Brown - get the Special Teams focused and squared away.
Boys — nice win. Keep focused and maintain this momentum going into Wake.
Daz — easy to beat cream puffs with the talent you have. Great coaches dominate all 3 aspects of a game though (talk to Frank Beamer). Fix the special teams problem ASAP or you deserve to be shown the door.
Wow. I think Wake might be tough because they play well in all phases. I don't know what to say about Pudue except I hope they duck against us too.
Hats off the Holy Cross - those guys played hard for the whole game and the coach looks like a good guy. Let's see where they are in a couple or 3 years. Could get going and be like Villanova.
Good to have a game to identify weak areas before we start ACC play. Not so good that the special teams struggled so much. They either need to practice and fix the issues or source some new personnel. Two blocked punts won’t cut it in ACC play.
As usual, BJK has it right. Two blocked punts for tds is way beyond "out of the question". Nevertheless, this is like asking Mrs. Lincoln how she liked the play. BC is a power house and only Daz could send it to the out house.
Clemson = Wow. I think we need Petrula at Center against them. I should know their names, but the guy who lines up over center sometimes just pushes the center straight back into the QB. He puts his hand right under the neck and bull rushes. Baker at 290 or A Lindstrom at 280 will be way overmatched - never mind in style and ability, but weight and sheer strength.
Higgins #5 - who the heck is going to cover that dude? 6"4", 215 can catch in traffic, escape and evade all the way to the end zone - he's fast!!!!!
Is it Thursday yet? Looking forward to the first real game in a few days.
ReplyDeleteOh holy cross oh Holy cross... thy sons are made of applesauce...
ReplyDeleteOh Holy Cross on bended knees, kiss the ass of old BC.
ReplyDeletethis will never again be a rivalry and shouldn't be played more than once every 20 years or so. UMass and UConn are local body bags more appropriate to play more frequently.
ReplyDeleteMy brother is a Holy Cross man. I once dropped him a note and addressed it to the "College of the Holy Crotch".
ReplyDeleteHe got it.
Go BC!
Tim cannot wait for Wake. They suck too and so does Temple. It will be a bit until we have a competitive game.
ReplyDeleteAnother nice day on the heights. Mod thinks it is better when it rains. TGS holds his Providence College attending "sons'" hand when they cross the street together.
ReplyDeleteBC is just young & inexperienced enough to struggle at times with Both Wake & Temple. Snooze ya lose.
ReplyDelete#2's wont allow it
Everyone is excited for Wake. Will it even be played? They have a major hurricane bearing down on NC. However, Winston-Salem is pretty far inland.
ReplyDeleteOh boy!
ReplyDelete2 HC injuries already.
ReplyDeleteThis is what we don't want to see on either side.
I'm watching this (my wife got it somehow - Roku is involved).
ReplyDeleteAJ Dillon - 74 yards for second score. Not fair. ☺️ 4 carries, 123 yards already. He might be done for the game
Did I see that right that Tessitore kicked the extra point?
ReplyDeleteNot sure - cool.
ReplyDeleteDerek Ng(No Good) with the kick. Great kicker name.
ReplyDeleteDillon gets 250 and 4. Then he sits.
ReplyDeleteKeep the updates coming. I don’t remember the last time two BC games weren’t televised. Even down here in Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteDillon back out. Gain of 9.Smith and White - first and goal. Dillon - 6 carries, 149 and 3 TDs. Not even going full speed.
ReplyDeleteAnother Howard so far.
CT, it's on ESPN3.
ReplyDeleteBrown needs to get rid of the ball. He held it way too long on that sack.
ReplyDeleteSweeney already dropped one.
ReplyDeleteEJ Perry in; David Bailey at RB
Brown and Dillon are already sitting it out. Probably a smart move. Good chance to assess the young quarterbacks.
ReplyDeleteDickhead, aka Khead’s Mail order bride spotted in BC locker room before game. No wonder some of the lineman seemed tired.
ReplyDeletePerry to Gline - made a move, scored easily. 28 to 0 Tesstitore kick.
ReplyDeleteAt least we're getting some practice against the read option which seems to be pretty popular right now.
ReplyDeleteSecond team offense looks pretty ragged. Can’t run at all.
ReplyDeleteLord help us if Dillon gets injured
ReplyDelete4th and 1 - Bailey doesn't get it. Our OLine unable to push HC. Not good.
ReplyDeleteBackup running game is laughably bad.
ReplyDeleteI am not sold on our Offensive Line with A. Lindstrom at center.
ReplyDeleteAny word on Baker?
Daz still dazzling against Holy Cross....short passes on third and long.
ReplyDeleteWe should recruit the hC punter
ReplyDeleteBoy, special teams continues to be an issue. How do they not know the formation rules?
ReplyDeleteMissed PAT. Another season, same problems.
ReplyDeleteHC still playing hard to their credit.
ReplyDeleteHamp Cheevers - pick 6. Saved us, because HC was showing some life, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Another missed XP. WTF?
I have never seen a major college football team miss extra points (and field goals) year after year, like this one.
ReplyDeleteWe bring the excitement back to the extra point. Have Daz go to soccer practice. Find a kid with a big leg and have him play on Saturdays.
ReplyDeleteThe last 24 minutes of that half was downright sad.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Bravesbill. I think it was also a credit to the HC defensive players who never quit. Our OLine didn't look all that impressive to me. I don't mean to be super critical, but what happens when we play Wake Forest?
ReplyDeleteAnd come on, Coach Ricky Brown - get the Special Teams focused and squared away.
I also know it's tough when garbage time starts so early.
ReplyDeleteEJ Perry to start 2nd half.
Glines at RB.
Perry to Lewis - beautiful TD.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a LOT of commercials for a not-actually-televised game
ReplyDeleteIs Lichtenberg hurt? Have not seen him all afternoon. The kid handling kickoffs has actually done a good job.
ReplyDeleteThe special teams are going to cost BC 2-3 games if they don't get this shored up.
ReplyDeleteThat punt attempt was pitiful. The punter ran right into the blocker. You can't make this stuff up. Special Teams. Atrocious.
ReplyDeleteLet McDonald do something - like Perry. I don't want to see handoffs up the middle.
ReplyDeleteTGS. That doesn't make sense, dingbat.
ReplyDeleteBoys — nice win. Keep focused and maintain this momentum going into Wake.
ReplyDeleteDaz — easy to beat cream puffs with the talent you have. Great coaches dominate all 3 aspects of a game though (talk to Frank Beamer). Fix the special teams problem ASAP or you deserve to be shown the door.
Yeesh another punt block for a td.
ReplyDeleteWTF - as the commentator said - you never see that. The other one said "you can't have that".
ReplyDeleteSdriously - heads have to roll on Special Teams.
This punting deal is frightening.
Teams are going to be salivating when we are back to punt. That is clown show stuff right there.
ReplyDeleteHow many special teams starters are in now? 2 punt TDs is pathetic!
ReplyDeleteI don’t care who we’re playing.
ReplyDeleteSpecial teams errors are inexecusable.
Missed PAT.
Two blocked punts for TD’s!!!?!?!?!
Martin Jaramond, please hire the HC special teams guy before he leaves campus.
ReplyDeleteLet's get this straight. A(n) FCS Team blocks 2 punts for 2 easy touchdowns.
ReplyDeleteAddazio - cut the sh!t.
Seriously — take a knee on downs 1-3 for the rest of the game and work on punts or field goals. The score does not matter.
ReplyDeleteWell - we'll just have to score touchdowns and never punt again.
ReplyDeleteWe got the punt off and it went about 25 yards. We're in deep trouble there.
ReplyDeleteWake Forest returned two punts for TDs today.
ReplyDeletePurdue lost at home to E Mich U.
ReplyDeleteWow. I think Wake might be tough because they play well in all phases. I don't know what to say about Pudue except I hope they duck against us too.
ReplyDeleteHats off the Holy Cross - those guys played hard for the whole game and the coach looks like a good guy. Let's see where they are in a couple or 3 years. Could get going and be like Villanova.
Go BC - beat Wake Forest.

Temple lost to Buffalo.
Dexter Lawrence is 6'5", 350.
ReplyDeleteChristian Willing is 6'4", 315.
Wilkins - I hate auto-correct.
