  1. As mantioned below - Herbstreit picked Purdue; Howard and Corso picked BC.

Let's go Eagles. Show Purdue the respect they deserve, but blow through them ALL DAY LONG.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I'll shut up for awhile, but this is a big test for Steve Addazio.

    Let's drive down and score.

    Nine defenders in the box.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Well, I see thee special teams have picked up right where they left off.

    ReplyDelete
  4. This where the defense really concerns me. They have a team at 2nd and 20 and they allow them to get a first down. I think the D is our Achille's heel this year,

    ReplyDelete
  5. Purdue moving at will.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Not good. Addazio is good at adjustments though.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Offense is going to need to put up 42 today. Their O-line is dominating our D.

    ReplyDelete
  8. They’ve used their entire playbook on the first drive.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Addazio has played right into their hands so far. But if Purdue gets a TD, doesn't mean they will do it all day. I wanted them to respond to us, but we will have to respond to them.

And they get the ball in the 2nd half.

    ReplyDelete
  10. John, they did it all day against Northwestern and Missouri. This is the best 0-3 team in the nation.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Told you this was a trap game.

    ReplyDelete
  12. For perspective these guys lost to Northwestern which was beaten by Akron and Eastern Michigan which was beaten by Buffalo

    ReplyDelete
  13. 2nd and 11 and you are running the ball? Huh?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I like the up tempo on O. D is going to need to be much stronger if this is game plan.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Let's Gary Tranquill up the middle - 10 in the box.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Clearly holding. He did not even have to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. One school has played 3 FBS opponents, the other 1.5.
Daz as usual showing no composure.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Lindstrom didn't have to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Never give up; Brown to Sweeney

    ReplyDelete
  20. They COULD score 70 points on this team if they stop insisting on running the ball when the defense has 8 people in the box

    ReplyDelete
  21. The air game is going to be there all day. They are playing the run.

This is where recruiting rankings are pure BS. Sweeney only had one other D-1 offer. Are you kidding me?

    ReplyDelete
  22. OK D - Tighten up!

They are matching up tall or speedy players against Strachan.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why did Lindstrom grab him? Levy was already going by. Really great bailout from AB. Looks like Sweeney was picking up marbles all summer. Last year, he had "stone hands".

    ReplyDelete
  24. Walker's returns are a huge weapon for BC.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Dazoshit only a one-dementional offense

    ReplyDelete
  27. I said in the earlier thread - Coaches, give the players a plan to win.

The QB would call different plays if allowed to do so.

That's what bugs me about Addazio the most. He is so predictable, he's making Dillon look bad against a loaded box.

    And Addazio is stubborn.

Let's go BC. Throw off the Head Coach's shackles.

Win one for the BC Community.

    ReplyDelete
  28. These refs are horrific.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Will Harris - hope the knee was down.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Offense needs to score every possession from here on out or our ranking will be short-lived. Lose this one and it will take weeks to get back in, if at all.

    ReplyDelete
  31. These refs are so indecisive

    ReplyDelete
  32. I said the refs would fuck us.

    ReplyDelete
  33. TGS likes it though. Wants more.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Loeffler setting up the play action.

    Btw, what the hell, secondary?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hey Steve - let's run it up the middle with 7-9 in the box.

Eventually they will wear down, even if it's 3 and out for us.

Let's stick to our hardheaded, all too predictable RRPP offense.

BTW, the guy's knee was down.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 148 to 51 total yards. Excluding one 7 yard run, dillon 7 carries for 10 yards.
    Classic Daz.

    ReplyDelete
  37. And run on 1st down for no gain again. Great.

    ReplyDelete
  38. We're going to be down 20-7 in the blink of an eye. Offense had to score there.

    ReplyDelete
  39. This is bad. Everything I feared.

    ReplyDelete
  40. BC Being exposed. Like Khead at the kids playground.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 31 yard punt. What else needs to be said?

    ReplyDelete
  42. 8 or 9 in the box and we continue to try to run. Addazio is a complete meathead.

    ReplyDelete
  43. BC is such a Well coached team.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I was nervous about this too, Georgia. We need to pass to set-up the run. We have not thrown on first down all game so they are just keying on Dillon and the run blocking has not been solid today.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Can’t the Daz just play Holy Cross every week?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Classic BC performance, doesn’t matter who coaches are or players, always can count on this type of beat yourself performance by BC

    ReplyDelete
  47. Allen has got to watch the ball! These are how games are lost. It only takes 1 or 2 critical plays.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Stupid penalties and dazoshit being outcoached. What a surprise

    ReplyDelete
  49. Defense getting gashed two weeks in a row by mediocre teams. Will have major problems down the road with better than average teams, let alone Clemson

    ReplyDelete
  50. Bullshit, TGS's dish of choice.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Stupid question TGS.

    ReplyDelete
  52. 36-16 total plays. How’s that game plan to run Dillon over and over and gas the PU defense working out Daz?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I gave up golf for this! If we lose, that's one thing - but to be out-coached so predictably is so frustrating.

Addazio has completely played into their hands.

    ReplyDelete
  54. As horrible as they’ve played, one quick play from the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't think Purdue is a mediocre team. No defense has been able to stop their offense. This is a very potent offense, which is why we have to score every time we possess the ball to keep up with them. We need to stop running on first down. Use the play-action to loosen them up and set-up the run.

That was concerning about their strategy to steal the BC defensive signals. Is Reid smart enough to change up the signals at half?

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is so sick, Addazio.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The play calling. Yikes.

That bootleg has an unblocked safety. Again and again.

    ReplyDelete
  58. You can't make this shit up.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Awesome Dillon first down run for 2 yards!

    ReplyDelete
  60. This is embarrassing

    ReplyDelete
  61. They are constantly in 3rd and 2 and we are in 3rd and 9.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Okay Addazio - what have you got to preserve your job as the Head Coach of the proud Boston College Eagles?

You personally have put us into this hole with your STUPID game plan.

What are you prepared to do? Martin is watching you closely.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Another7-6 season by a pitiful coach who gets out-coached consistently.

    ReplyDelete
  64. College football is supposed to be fun, Addazio.

    Cut them loose.

    ReplyDelete
  65. How much you want to bet the first play is a run to Dillon for no gain?

    ReplyDelete
  66. BC win percentage down to 27% from 75% at kick off.
Time for another Daz contract extension.

    ReplyDelete
  67. i am sure Purdue looked at who BC beat including Wake and said we are better than them. And so far even at 0-3 they are.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Bye bye Heisman candidacy.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Again, 2nd and 10 and you are running the ball??

    ReplyDelete
  70. To go three and out that much against this defense is just incredible

    ReplyDelete
  71. #67 is a horrible blocker

    ReplyDelete
  72. I can't watch this anymore. Total embarrassment.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Do the announcers know two of BC’s win we’re against UMass and HC?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Addazio bet against his own team. He's throwing this game.

This is the problem with legal betting.

You head coach can fix the game and make $.

    Addazio - you SUCK.

    ReplyDelete
  75. well there goes the our ranking. how does addazio not know how to prepare the team after this many years

    ReplyDelete
  76. These idiot announcers think every BC kid is a NFL prospect. Clearly drinking the Daz koolaid.

    ReplyDelete
  77. No timeout when Ourdue got to fourth Down. Amazing

    ReplyDelete
  78. Well, I predicted 7 wins in the pre-season so I am not going to be disappointed. This is pretty much what I expected for this season. We are still a few horses short of an 8-9 win team.

    ReplyDelete
  79. At least our quarterback has a tackle.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Keep in mind, if you are going to lose any game, better to lose an out of conference game than an ACC contest.

    ReplyDelete
  81. A few horses short? Try a whole herd.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sounds like EB reconciling himself to another weed whacker bowl appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Have the horses. The jockey is terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Darn, down 3 scores. Don't think we can catch-up. Oh well. Frustrating, but that's the life of a BC fan. Only one great season in my lifetime, 1984.

    ReplyDelete
  85. TGS, when the announcer says something you can internalize it. I don't need your play by play of the play by play. Find a friend.

    ReplyDelete
  86. TGS, look at the schedule. I'm thinking Temple is a toss-up, NC State, Miami, Clemson and Va Tech are losses. That is 5 and maybe 6 losses. What other bowl will we be eligible for but a toilet one?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Walker is the only bright spot today. Offense is inept and the defense continues to be a concern.

I knew this top top 25 ranking would be short-lived.

One thing you will never hear is Daz outcoaching anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I find it mind boggling this offensive game plan right now. If there is one flaw with Dillion he does not have initial explosiveness and against a stacked line this is a killer. There is zero offensive imagination.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Addazio has a history of being completely unable to mount a comeback.

I said on the top, Purdue gets the ball in the second half.

We have been held to 37 yards by a team that hasn't been able to stop anyone.

This is due to STEVE ADDAZIO.

Make no mistake about it. Our Head Coach is responsible for not giving our players a game plan to win.

9 man box? Safeties keying on Dillon knowing he will run to the outside because the middle is clogged? Check.

Will Steve Addazio run the rock anyway? Check.

Is Steve Addazio hard-headed = over his head? Check.

Will he be able to recover in the second half? No. Check.

Purdue thanks you, Steve. The bet money was safe.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Out coached and out game planned and the OL has s still not good...simple

    ReplyDelete
  91. 37 total yards in the 1st half is completely inexcusable!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I am watching this game solely to see BC's response.

This will go a long way to see if Addazio is retained after this contract.

    ReplyDelete
  93. That was not a first down.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Third pass knock down.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Loeffler dusting off the playbook from 1933.

    ReplyDelete
  96. JEZZUZ. Addazio you are a piece of work.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Brown turning back into a pumpkin.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Why are you doing a screen pass on 3rd and 11????

    ReplyDelete
  99. Yeah, they’re better than us. Pretty clearly.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Another shitty punt.

    I'm done blogging.

    ReplyDelete
  101. this game has some fine Cheshire High School play calling.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Boilers in full control - was the comment going into the break.

    ReplyDelete
  103. There are guys open downfield. You are down 3 scores. Air it out!

    ReplyDelete
  104. When your kickoff returner is your MVP, you’re kinda screwed.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Before I go - our Offensive Line has been exposed.

Is Baker playing center? Or A. Lindstrom?

This was a big decision we discussed before the season.

Petrula should have been left at center.

Baker can be the captain from the sideline.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Torres hesitated on that blitz. Could have gotten there.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Sebastian getting picked on.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Well, these apples aren’t going to pick themselves

    ReplyDelete
  109. Addazio plays favorites.

    We are completely exposed.

    Here's the deal - 30 to 7.

    Do we quit?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Their QB is pretty good.

    Have to score here.

    ReplyDelete
  111. When he has Sebastian one-on-one.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Long layoff and this is how they play. Absolutely unprepared and embarrassing.

    So sick of this sh*t.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Addazio - DO WE QUIT?

NOW IS YOUR MOST IMPORTANT COACHING IN YOUR HEAD COACHING LIFE!

I have an idea - Let's run Dillon on first down, behind 30 to 7.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Mankind hasn’t made a drum bigger than that? Disappointing.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Know kidding aside.

Time for EJ Perry or McDonald.

    ReplyDelete
  116. This will be a great learning experience for BC as we prepare for ..........

    Who cares, Addazio?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Perry or McDonald better at handing off?

    ReplyDelete
  118. The clown show must go.

    ReplyDelete
  119. PU 99.1% win probability. Daz will bring us back!!!
Degenerate gambler Khead, the Appalachian State Line just move a 1/4 point. Go check it out scumbag.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I think that might be it. Brown is horrible without Dillon going crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  121. We wanted to believe that Brown was better. Unfortunately, he has a long way to go.

Sweeney may have been able to pull the defender down before the ball arrived.

Who knows? We are getting our asses kicked.

We wanted to believe - we were desperate to believe that we were good this year......

    ReplyDelete
  122. Do those replay monitors come with binoculars?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Wow. Brown. What a dum dum.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Time for Perry

    ReplyDelete
  125. Perry or McDonald time.

Addazio set up his own QB.

    Give the kid a seat.

    ReplyDelete
  126. BJK I apologize. It was time for Perry or McDobald.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Nick Saban replaced his quarterback at halftime during the National Championship game. Steve Addazio’s quarterback will still have passes being batted down on the plane ride home.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Purdue is getting away with holding every play.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Another first down not made but readily given.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Well that injury would suck, if serious.

    ReplyDelete
  131. purdue is definitely a much better team than it'record and bc is definitely not as good a team as it's record. BC has a hard time handling speed and i fear this could be a let down year. i would feel better if i could trust addazio to coach up this team but his track record doesn't portend this happening. i hope i am wrong. if they should lose to temple this could begin down slide which would be very disappointing considering the high expectations

    ReplyDelete
  132. Who is that Lewis kid? Like his size.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I go back and forth from my phone (John) to my PC.

    This is really bizarre.

We are not this bad, and Purdue is not this good.

    Addazio is the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Make the QB change, Addazio - like the goalie change in hockey.

Just for now. Give Brown a break.

One of our backups will move us down the field.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Year 6 with Addazio and we are not seeing a breakthrough. I doubt he will be fired as we should get 6 or 7 wins, but I don’t think we can compete for the ACC with him at the helm. He’s just not a very bright guy.

    ReplyDelete
  136. ND killing Wake on the road.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Wake getting destroyed by ND so clearly our 3-0 record was a paper tiger.

    ReplyDelete
  138. TGS, Keep taking notes. You are infatuated with KHead. While you are watching the game on the espn gamecast from the public library. Must suck not having a TV or your own internet connection.

I saw a Comcast ad here for free internet for families with kids on the free breakfast plan. Check it out. Will get you into 2000's.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Not surprised BC lost although I thought it would be very close, not surprised the defense is exposed as not good after seeing them last week, not surprised the game plan was awful because that’s par for the course but I am SHOCKED Brown has looked so bad and worry his confidence has been damaged. He should not be in this game right now because this game is lost and they are going nowhere’s if he is injured. Also needs to just put this behind him

    ReplyDelete
  140. Who is playing Center. He's getting blown up.

    It looks like #71

But if it's #77 (Baker) it's my worst fear.

Addazio is blind due to "loyalty" and favoritism.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Overthrows Jeff Smith, who wouldn't have gotten the first down anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yeah everyone sucks today.

What was he doing on that 4th down throw? That was hopeless even if he didn’t air-mail it. This dude blows.

    ReplyDelete
  143. McDonald might be better than Brown. This was a disaster by Brown and should not happen at this stage of his career. Also, I question the fight in this team. To not get a couple scores late shows they gave up early.

    ReplyDelete
  144. The most shocking thing, BC fan since the 60's, is that I bought into this. I have been watching since the 60's as well.

I really thought this year was going to be okay. I'm losing my edge, and was a victim of being a fan, instead of looking at Addazio.

I knew that a loss was possible - but this was pitiful.

It's all on Steve Addazio. It really is.

We must make a change at center - bring Petrula back.

    Put Phillips back in.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Let Perry try to score.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I don’t know. Outclassed in everything except kickoff returns.

Loeffler stunk. Brown needs Dillon in every way imaginable to be effective.

Credit Purdue. I think they have the world’s biggest drum, but am uncertain. If I could get a 30 for 30 on that, I could speak more authoritatively on the subject.

    ReplyDelete
  147. God Dazzit. Get a kicker!

    ReplyDelete
  148. Hey - missing extra points is no longer a joke.

    Addazio - WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  149. I mean come on. There are girls in high school kicking extra points. My pet peeve. Besides, you know, getting manhandled.

    ReplyDelete
  150. What happened to Lichtenberg? Did he quit because of Addazio?

Tessitore misses often and looks over his head.

This is another one on Addazio.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Losing by 7 or 10 whatever, but this is pitiful after 9 days of preparing. Thought win today, lose to Temple for the wtf game, not losing faith but dumbfounded by the game plan and execution.

    ReplyDelete
  152. The missed PAT was the cherry on top of this shit sandwich. It’s pretty clear that Daz is way in over his head.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Great coaches with 9 days to prepare win big road games. Clown show got to go.

Ryan Day for HC in 2019

    ReplyDelete
  154. O Line is under performing.

We have a new coach who does not have the relevant experience for such a position, IMHO

Secondly, we need Petrula back at center. It's obvious, but Addazio plays favorites.

So we have handicaps to start with.

    Tough to overcome.

    ReplyDelete
  155. There are definitely more Pur-dudes in the Midwest, apparently.

We saw the same plays last week, run in the same situations, with little imagination. We’re like Ga Tech. Have to stay ahead to keep the ground game relevant. And that bootleg to the right...consistently leaving an unblocked safety. It’s all on tape.

    Loeffler dropped the ball today.

Is the kicker on scholarship? It looks like an internship for course credit.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Can’t block
    Can’t tackle
    Can’t surprise opponent
Can’t devise a winning game plan
    Can’t run
    Can’t pass

We are a MAC level team that should worry if we can beat a former Mac team Temple.

This game sucked is almost every way.

    ReplyDelete
  157. The inability to tackle is the most mind boggling thing.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Another example of Addazio loyalty - he hires an Offensivei e Coach who isn't yet qualified. But he has history with Addazio at Florida.

    Hey, that's big, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  159. Lose a close one on the road due to a few mental errors by players, understandable.

But the final score is indicative of an inability by the coaches to adapt their game plan. Too much talent on offense to have the starters only able to score 7 points and get beaten like that by a lower to mid tier Big 10 team like Purdue.

Simple answer: despite player mistakes, Daz got outcoached. Not the first time and certainly not the last. The excuses should be interesting....

Maybe it’s time to head back to CT Daz. Bristol is calling.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Christian Wilkins will blow by Jon Baker as though Baker isn't even there.

    Petrula would have a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Disappointing loss. Short-lived stint in the rankings. Next week will help shape the narrative for the rest of the season but clearly 7-6 is looking more likely than 8-5 or 9-4 at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  162. At some point you just have to wonder if the genetic make up for major revenue athletics at BC just isn't there for reasons beyond our control that we will never fully understand. The Fish would probably make for the best field hockey facility in the country.
