Basketball flat but still wins against Columbia

BC didn't look great and were without Chatman, but it didn't matter as they beat Columbia at Conte. The D -- which had looked so good during the win streak -- was a mess tonight. Lots of slow rotations and confusion. Bowman scored well but still turned the ball over too much. Tabbs had another strong game.

The team's next game is against Fairfield on Sunday.

  1. I did not watch the game, but there are people on the other site who are using last night's 9-point win over a poor Ivy League team missing their best player and turning it into BC is pretty good and should win 8-9 games in the conference. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see how a close win over a terrible Columbia team on top of uninspired wins over crap opponents should elicit such rosy expectations.

  2. Exactly. ATL is always the eternal optimist. After a while that approach erodes a persons credibility.

The Providence game tells you everything you need to know about the basketball team.

    Losers.

  6. The Ivy teams to be reckoned with are Penn and Harvard. The others are not a factor.
Usually we refuse to fire coaches proven horrible for years the one case where we acted
precipitously was that of Steve Donahue of Penn who holds victories over Miami and Villanova.
Christian in his fifth campaign and going no where fast seems safe for another couple of seasons.
The DAZZO=SHIT mentality has paralyzed football and mens bb.
Thanks to Marvin for at least the arrival of coach Mac to restore women's bb.

  7. Anne Marie, we did beat Duke last year. Hoops isn't the dumpster fire it was a few years ago. And it's Martin, not Marvin. Props to the women's hoop coach for making the team much improved already!

  8. Gee eaglet its Edward and what did beating Duke get us. You do remember Al Skinner .
That was achievement. Didn't Donahue achieve a tremendous victory over Syracuse ?.
WE DO NEED A SEPARATE FACILITY FOR BASKETBALL ONLY.
PS Thanks for the Martin corr.
Hope you're right about BB but I fear we have the real nice guy version of DAZZO=SHIT
    with the same basic results.
He has a major recruiting problem that must be solved.
