Zone blocking for dummies

Much has been made of our movement to zone blocking. The hype has been somewhat misleading as we've had numerous elements of the zone scheme for years. However, Jags is implementing a more strict zone scheme fathered by current BC consultant Alex Gibbs. The coaches also recently took a trip to Green Bay to see how Jags' former pupils are using the scheme at the pro level. In all this talk, I am sure many are wondering "what is zone blocking?" In an over simplification from my amateur perspective, zone blocking can be summarized as the line working as one to move the defense in a certain direction, as opposed to each lineman having a specific assignment. For a much better explination you're better off reading the following links and watching this amateur but decent video.

Hi my name is Jeff Alexander and I coach in L.A. Ca. This is a very informative piece of work and I'm very thankful everyone took the time out to make this happen. If there is an e-mail address for the coach that did the demo. I would like to ask him a few questions. My address is bigjezzy82@gmail.com and thanks once again.

INSIDE ZONE TECHNIQUE (DRIVE BLOCK TECHNIQUES):

A. COVERED: Take a 6” lead step aiming eyes at outside number. Second step to crotch (do not crossover). Hands at base of shoulder pads.

1. If DLM stretches with you – stay on block and uncovered teammate works up on LBer.

2. If DLM anchors on you – double team with uncovered teammate. Stay on block until wiped off & then work upfield aiming eyes to outside number of LBer.

3. If DLM slants inside – force him to flatten his slant and double team with uncovered teammate. Stay on block until wiped off & then work upfield aiming eyes to outside number of LBer.

B. UNCOVERED: Take a 6” lead step at hip of DLM (eyeballing his inside knee). Do not cross over on second step.

1. If near knee goes away – get on angle to LBer on 2nd. step & work upfield aiming eyes to outside number of LBer.

2. If near knee stays put – double team (hip to hip) with covered teammate & wipe him off on Lber.

3. If near knee comes toward you – aim eyes to his sternum – sliding face to outside number. Double team with covered teammate & wipe him off on LBer.

OUTSIDE ZONE TECHNIQUE (REACH BLOCK TECHNIQUES):

A. COVERED: Take a 6” lead step aiming eyes at outside arm pit. Second step slightly outside crotch (do not crossover). Inside hand on midline & outside hand under armpit.

1. If DLM stretches with you – stay on block and uncovered teammate works up on LBer.

2. If DLM anchors on you – stiff arm him down to uncovered teammate. Stay on block until you feel uncovered teammate & then come off aiming eyes to outside armpit of LBer.

3. If DLM slants inside – force him to flatten his slant by stiff arming him inside. Stay on block until you feel uncovered teammate & then come off aiming eyes to outside number of LBer.

B. UNCOVERED: Take a 6 inch lead step aiming eyes at helmet of DLM. You may crossover on second step.

1. If helmet goes out & you haven’t contacted DLM by 3rd. step – work upfield aiming eyes to outside armpit of LBer.

2. If helmet stays put – shove him over to covered teammate and work upfield aiming eyes to outside armpit of LBer.

3. If helmet slants inside – aim eyes to his outside armpit. Taker him over & wipe covered teammate off to LBer.

ZONE RULES:

TEACH “COVERED/UNCOVERED” (TO DETERMINES WHO ZONE BLOCKS
AND WHO MAN BLOCKS).

A. IF YOU ARE UNCOVERED (BY A DLM) – ZONE WITH YOUR PLAYSIDE TEAMMATE.

B. IF YOU ARE COVERED (BY A DLM) – ZONE WITH YOUR BACKSIDE TEAMMATE (UNLESS HE IS COVERED THEN YOU MUST MAN BLOCK).

NOTE: IF YOUR MAN IS STACKED IN A “TANDEM” – ZONE WITH TEAMMATE WHOSE MAN IS ALSO STACKED.

I was working on my dissertation when I realized that I just wouldn’t have time to write it. I looked on Google and searched for a provider of the service I was looking for. WHen I found , it looked really legitimate at first. I went through their blog, samples and other site pages and I was really convinced that this company was going to hook me up with a decent writer. So, before I bought I actually searched for “ Reviews” and “” to make sure that other people did not get ripped off. I found a few pissed off complaints, but nothing major that a business doesn’t face. I decided to give them an honest chance.

Scam Review

Well, I paid roughly $600 for a dissertation to be done in a few weeks. The writer made my a bit nervous because he didn’t seem to have very good grammar in his messages, although he had very high ratings and had done over sixty orders. But after getting my first draft, I realized that I was just another scam victim. The paper made no sense, my professor told me that I was going to fail if I brought him any more garbage like that. He saw right through my whole plan because the quality of writing was so poor.

I quickly realized that my writer was NOT American. He did not speak English and certainly could not write well. Despite this, I went back to and asked for a revision from a different writer. They didn’t want to help me and told me that “this is just their system” and it’s community oriented with ratings. I asked myself, if this guy had such a high rating, what would a low rating writer look like?

At this point, I realized that I wasn’t going to get a good paper from so I just decided to get my money back and write it myself. But their support people didn’t want to help me get my money back for the poor job. They even threatened me by saying that they will file for copyright suit if I didn’t shut my mouth. Well, I am a computer science nerd and know how to build websites. I guess they just pissed off the wrong person. I cut my losses and let them take my money, but I have to make sure that others don’t get ripped off like I did.
