Gaudreau lights it up, BC advances

BC's moving on after crushing Denver 6-2 in the NCAA Tournament opener. Everything clicked from the start, but Gaudreau really made the difference. He scored three times including in the first minute.

BC plays the winner of Lowell and Minnesota State Sunday.

  1. Wish they could take a couple of those goals from today to use tomorrow; may need them against Lowell.

  2. Is Johnny G. at the same level as Brian Gionta?

Also, who are your 6 starters on your all-time BC men's hockey team?

  3. Cory Schneider
    Orpik
    Mottau
    Gionta
    Reasoner
    Gaudreau

This is hard . Where do you put:

    Emma
    Gerbe
Kolanos (kind of a big game winning goal for bc)
Boyle (I watched him play 50 minutes without running out of gas in his championship loss-most impressive thing I've seen a bc hockey player do in frozen 4)
    P Eaves
    Craig Janney
Also tons of impact players who left early and/ or didn't have big pro careers-- Ben eaves, kreider, Jerry York, my dad played jv hockey for bc in the 60s--I'd love to get him on this list somehow...

Also, I think Jeremy Roenick spent a week on upper campus as a frosh before he dropped out...that guy was pretty good at hockey too

  4. Forgot about Leetch and Guerin. Those guys bump mottau and gaudreau to 2nd team

  5. How about Clemmensen and Muse in goal? Clemmensen was a 4-year starter with 1 NCAA championship. Muse won 2 NCAA titles.

  6. Leetch is an easy #1.... And don't forget Kreider and Boyle.

  7. Not an all time list kind of guy but Bertram's contributions his first year were awesome. Since my time watching BC hockey (last decade) I'd say...

    Schneider
    Muse
    Gerbe
    Gaudreau
    Kreider
    Boyle

  8. Joe Mullen. He invented the style of play Gionta, Gerbe, Gaudreau and others followed. Sure, each added their own particular strengths, but Mullen was the original speedy, shifty, tough, annoying, ridiculously skilled thrill machine.

  9. On to the frozen four once again. Tough game but BC did it again.
