In-game comments post: Maine

Don't take this game lightly! Maine beat a FBS team last year (ok, it was only UMass). But this will be a good test for our team's focus and maturity. Are they ready to compete every week? Can they handle the comedown off of the USC win? Let's hope so. Leave your thoughts and comments on the game below.

  1. Those there: how full are the stands?

  2. Looks like many no shows. Must be a lot of people trying to hit the Cape one last time.

  3. Defense has to defend another short field.

  4. Student section looks pretty full

  5. Is anyone else's espn3 feed really delayed.

  6. Wow, lucky they did not call 17 for pass interference.

  7. Again, why are we passing?

    ReplyDelete
  8. This is the type of start I worried about.

  9. Can the Defensive Line play offense for us this week? They seem to be the only ones that came to play.

  10. Classic letdown game here.

No need to panic, but this team needs to get their heads right.

  11. That TD is on Connor. There was no reason for him to reach over and grab the facemask. Need to clean up the penalties before ACC play.

  12. Sherm is your playmaker and he has yet to touch the ball

    ReplyDelete
  13. One of my biggest pet peeves is when receivers run routes on 3rd down short of the sticks. We need to pick up this first down.

  14. Spaz would never have gone for it there. Great call by Daz

  15. Need to clean up these penalties!!

  16. Not happy about the 3 but we just need to keep plugging away with the run. Maine is definitely going to wear down.

  17. Wow, that QB is a big boy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That is more like it.

  19. Murphy is the best at faking handoffs of anyone!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Murphy keeping it should be our whole offense the rest of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Is that his longest TD run of the season?

    ReplyDelete
  22. The lack of a passing game is killing BC. Cannot go into ACC play without a single threat in the passing game.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I understand passing to keep Maine honest, but I think we should run until we have a firm lead.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Where is the safety???

    ReplyDelete
  25. The ESPN3 feed is terrible I am way behind.

    ReplyDelete
  26. This team lost to Bryant. The horror!

    ReplyDelete
  27. My fear now is that guys will start pressing and trying to do too much. Just need one nice drive.

  28. Tied with Maine deep in the second quarter. Meanwhile, a horrible Iowa team is hanging with Pitt. I'm really concerned about this BC team. The good news is we are young and will improve with each game. The bad news is we have no passing ability and our defensive backs are the worst I have seen at BC in a long time.

  29. I agree ATL. Don't be pretty. Just keep pounding the football. Feed Sherm a few times and try to get up by 7.

  30. They have pretty much shut down Hilliman today.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not sure why Willis isn't getting more touches. He really seems like the most explosive RB that we have. Certainly compared to rouse.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How does Bordner get so wide open?

There is the cushion we need. Nice drive.

Ouch, missed extra point. Boy, do we miss Freese.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The Bordner TD shows how wide open guys can be when the other team is so focused on our running.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The missed PAT is scary.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Danny, I agree. BC has the luxury of several backs and I think you need to go with who has the hot hand. That was Hilliman last week. Seems to be Willis today. Although Sherm had 2 nice runs in the first and has not received the ball since.

  36. Maine got away with block in the back on that QB run for the first down.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Another sack by Josh!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. We need points on this drive.

    ReplyDelete
  39. OK, a minute left. Wish we had those timeouts we burned.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Phillips needs to haul that in.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I guess I just don't understand using Rouse. He's like a poor man's Willis. I don't like running Alston exclusively out of the backfield, but it's clear we need to find more ways to get the ball into his hands.

    ReplyDelete
  42. That facemask by 90 was hard to take.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Dammit, we are so thin at O-line.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Pitt just lost to Iowa. Bad loss for the ACC and leaves me very concerned that BC is not going to fare well in ACC play.

    ReplyDelete
  45. 3 for 3 on 4th down today.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Maine is getting tired.

    ReplyDelete
  47. OK, let's clear the starters and put in the scrubs.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Va Tech-Georgia Tech is n awesome game. GT trying to score the winning field goal.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Definitely time to bring in Wade. Give the kid some reps.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Va Tech loses 2 straight at home. Wow!

    ReplyDelete
  51. We better not see Murphy the rest of the game.

Thanks, Daz, for bringing back O-line U!

    ReplyDelete
  52. It's also nice to see so many sacks after the dearth of sacks in the Spaz era.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Johnson having a nice game.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wade's first pass was nice.

    ReplyDelete
  55. First 4th down BC did not convert.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Don't rest on Colorado State. They are fully capable of coming into Chestnut Hill and beating the Eagles.
