Darn, that touchdown for the Wolfpack was way too easy. I could say they need to make adjustments but it is pretty hard to adjust to a QB that is so elusive. He just makes plays out of nothing.
Here's how dumb TOB is. You have a guy that can return the ball 60 yards on average and you don't get him the ball on offense? I would be popping screens, snapping it directly to him, anything to get that guy in open field.
Well,I predicted this would come down to a field goal but after the first quarter, we should have run away with this game. Very, very frustrating in an absolute must win game.
Not sure how I feel about the capitulation with 1:43 left on the clock when you have been passing lights out. I'm also unsure why Harris is not getting the rock. Did he not earn the starting job the past two weeks?
So far, I have to say Jags is getting out-coached by the Hen.
What the hell was that? First, BC didn't call a TO to stop the clock before the punt to give themselves about 2:30. Then the play-calling was very TOB-like. They don't run the ball the entire game but decide to do so in that situation? WTF?
Let's not forget to mention that Spaz needs to get his head out of his rear and be aggressive on 3rd and long. NCST converted a 3rd and 10 on its first TD drive and a 3rd and 18 on its FG drive. Tnd it is all because Spaz plays that damn drop zone defense. That is unacceptable. Put the pressure on!
Rob: BC was up 21-7 and then gave up a 100 yard TD on a kick-off return. BC was moving the ball again and Megwa fumbled near the red zone. NC State took advantage of the turnover and kicked a field goal (we're extremely lucky it was not a TD). Crane later fumbled but NC State could not capitalize.
Crane had time to throw and did a great job. The game was close because of (1)turnovers, (2) a very talented kickoff-return guy, (3) no BC pass rush, and (4) BC tacklers failing to break down and, instead, overrunning people.
This win was on the offense and our defense was clearly exposed today. Good passing teams a la Notre Dame are going to press BC hard, so Crane and Company must continue to improve. The scary thing is that NC State has a ton of injuries so we almost lost to a medicore team that is not close to full stength. But, a win is a win!
Did anyone else notice that we got penalized in very critical situations? Some of them were deserved and I am not making excuses for our poor special teams play or the terrible turnovers (BC made this game closer than it should have been), but it was funny how our penalties came on key 3rd down situations on both sides of the ball. The proof in the pudding was the ref's hesitation to call Crane's last TD. BC has always had trouble winning in North Carolina, but why? Is the grass unfriendly? Is there something in the air that makes us Yankees play sloppy? You bet there is, the gold ol'boy refs of Tobacco Road. I expect similarly called games when we play Wake and UNC. Of course, this is what we signed on for. Granted, I am glad we are not in the BIg East, but why do we only not get a fair shake in NC?

24 yard pass to toal?

Nice answer Eagles! Crane is maturing by the minute.
who is the guy wearing #10 and what did he do to chris crane?
What happened to our kick return coverage? At this point, I say go back to the days where we kicked it out of bounds.
After 1Q, crane is on pace to throw for 700 yards and 8 TDs, and their return man is on pace for 650 yards and 4 TDs. Final score 84-56?
We can finally kick it into the endzone, and this happens?!?!?
Me thinks we should not kick to Graham anymore. Apo was pretty good at the squib kicks last year.

Oh, Megwa. Jesus Christ.

What just happend? gamecast makes it seem like they fumbled for 90 yards and then made a 22 yard fieldgoal.
Great 2-minute offense. Run the ball thrice up the middle. Fantastic.

Put in Daniel Evans!

I just got in from a morning family commitment and saw the score halfway through the second. I did a triple-take.

Yessss! Fake punt for a first down. Love it! Now Jags is coaching.
And Harris is in the game!
Points are points.
Lets go boys.
Man, nailbiting time. BC fails to score from the 1 and settles for the field goal, then BC gives up a fast TD!
It's slowly starting to slip away.
If ever we need the defense to step it up, it's right now!! Man, not scoring from the 1 is going to come back to haunt us.
you knew Crane wouldn't maintain his torrid pace and come back to earth eventually
That away defense!
WHERE IS BENNETT???
what the heck is jagz/logan doing?
Why throw a swing pass on a 4th and 10 play? Another befuddling TOB move.
Ugh, well the defense has surely let down BC this quarter. The passing defense has been looking very suspect at best.
Can someone please explain why we went for it on 4 & 10 from the 40, especially when you call a swing pass to a fullback (and not to Harris or Haden)?
Granted you may only gain twenty yards if you punt it in the endzone but you should try to pin them deep and make them go 85-90 yards for a score.
Chris Crane!
Gimme that.
That pass to the TE over the middle and the QB misdirection worked all day. Good to see Logan go to that in that situation.
Unleash the t-shirts:
I'M A CRANEIAC!
Questions remain, but you have to give Crane props today. Crane isn't Matt, but he did show heart and confidence today.
Letting him use his legs and fall back on his tight ends appears to be an environment in which he can succeed.

Merry Christmas Bedford Falls!!!
Whew, glad to escape Raleigh with a win.
